Cataract surgeries are so routine that I wouldn't worry about it. I know lots of people who have had it. If they're using a lens that's been around for a while with no issues, you should be good. The first Dr I saw before I was referred to the retina surgeon sent me a bunch of videos on the surgery and lens options because I do have cataracts and I'll eventually go back to him for surgery. There was a slight chance I'd have to have cataract surgery before my macular surgery. It's on standby at this point until the retina surgeon refers me back to the ophthalmologist.
My Dr. told me the same. He said that the worst will be the week that I will have being able to see well out of the post surgical eye and not out of the pre-surgical eye😬. The research has been excellent thus far. Stay tuned😊.
@que-stead-que1717 You'll do great. When I had lasik surgery done, they "didn't have time" to give me a sedative like they said they do as a matter of course in the consult and did with other patients before me. 😬 I was not happy or comfortable. Talk about high anxiety. I understand that they do for cataracts, and I had a very mild sedative for my macular surgery.
