- Why does it always seem like the states with extremely repressive abortion bans are also the ones with extremely lax child marriage laws? 🤔🫠

"For revolting barbarity and shameless hypocrisy America reigns without a rival."

Remember the state legislator that voted AGAINST banning adults marrying minors as he knew some married 12 year olds...
Oooo 🤢🤢🤢
Who needs a diet when they say words like that
“Happily married 12yo.” Disgusting he is still in office.
‘Ripe and futile’ were the words he used to describe them. The relationship is one of a ‘freedom loving couple’.
“We have supported previous efforts to create safeguards against exploitation while working with authors to ensure those protections do not impede on *the reproductive rights of minors* and their ability to decide what is best for them, their health, and their lives." -Planned Parenthood of California, explaining why they opposed banning child marriage
@@jdotoz there is no excuse or reason to allow child marriage. Not sure what your point was other than pointing out how even planned parenthood is forced to relent under GOPs outdated beliefs.
Abuse is the intention.
Always has been.
"Conservatives just want babies to be born; they don't care after that."
"Okay, let's make it easier for teen parents to access the rights and privileges of marriage."

Which states have no minimum age for child marriage.
California has no minimum 😂

These same states also refuse to do things like give free lunch to poor kids. They want them to breed but they don't want to be responsible for it.

also, look at who supports genital mutilation in form for forced normalization of intersex infant genitalia. The same people who who do not think trans people should be allowed to consent to changing their hormone setup.
It is funny that it is actually the conservatives guilty of forcing actual children through irreversible surgeries to transition them without consent, but as soon at the child tries to revers the disgusting horrors done to them the conservatives do not want that to happen.
I'm intersex and had my life ruined by conservatives not being able to leave my genitalia alone.
These are also the states where medical surveillance will be legal.

There is a Bronze Age slave manual and it’s various book club members to blame for both statistics!
Any Republicans want to weigh in on this one? I want to see the jumping through hoops to justify it 😂
I don’t speak for the right but how do we know who’s getting married? Which side is changing their childrens gender at 15 or *younger*? Must be old enough to marry, smoke and drink too right?
@zippybeaniedoodle2811 idk what Trans kids have to do with this, it isn't what I remotely talked about or the video talked about lol. Either way, that's a whole different topic and can of worms.
The states in the video are largely republican states.
@@lofasz3328 it absolutely is not different. My question wasn’t answered. Marriage is a right and usually a personal so WHICH PEOPLE are getting their children married? Is it a cultural thing, is it the Mormons, or just the rich? There’s tons of details missing for you all to claim this is a Republican issue.
I'm not a Republican, but the policies a lot of Democrats are pushing are overly broad, and would ban two high school seniors getting married for tax purposes as "child marriage".
@@zippybeaniedoodle2811 Typically, child marriage needs the sign off of the kids parents to be carried out. Parents who would be OK with their kid marrying an adult would usually come as a result of the child becoming pregnant as well as the older party wanting a younger partner because they're easier to control via marriage if they aren't an adult yet. The concept that you should marry your assaulter and that marriage has the expectation of controlling your female spouse is often defended by Christians, because those things are mentioned and supported in the bible. Republicans are statistically more likely to be Christian than Democrats. So it's safe to assume, in addition to the map listed, that the ones supporting this are more than likely Republicans.
I will not apologize for wanting life to prosper.
Life prospers better when children are educated and marriage is for adulthood.
Just shared religious control

Their goal is to re-populate the earth after Noah.
Uh that’s already been done. We do NOT need more people!!!
Finally! I been saying this for a while 😭
California: no minimum age.
These people are not reading.
So one outlier?
@@CChrist-mh4mk Yes, if you consider a state that's big enough to swing policies nation wide an "outlier."
exactly.
@@jdotoz yes, it’s one state. That’s what an outlier is. All of the others are red states. Why is that?
California not having this restricted is definitely a lingering result of it's past conservative governance. I think at this point if it was banned, most normally people would have assumed it had always been that way with only the few religious psychopaths getting very loud about it until they get tired of being angry about that specifically.
California has been leading the front on normalizing child predators. They recognize the flag and even redefined them as MAPs. What are you talking about?
Did he look at the map? It says california and new mexico have no minimum age for marriage, that's literally 50% of the states that have no minimum age.
And a majority of the population, by far.
In a way I guess that means that it’s culturally in alignment to be for child marriage as opposed to the minority of Americans that are against it
@@justinrivera1618 not necessarily. A state's laws don't necessarily reflect the will of its populous. Especially if it's an old law that hasn't been directly voted on by the public. So yes it's legal in most parts of America, but from the sound of it, a lot of people weren't even aware these laws existed.
You're acting like the only options are "conspiracy" and "coincidence". There's a well-known urban/rural cultural divide in America; pick any two policies at random, and you'll probably find a correlation like that.
So you believe a child of any age is mature enough to decide they are born with the wrong genitalia but you also believe that they are not mature enough to decide they want to get married? How does that make sense?
I’m gonna stay reeeaaal respective, but lemme just ask you this.
When, in any part of this short, did this guy say that “a child of any age is mature enough to decide they are born with the wrong genitalia.”
I’ll do you one better, when, again in any part of this short, did the guy even *imply* that?
Make sure to actually pay attention to the maps, because they don't actually show what he is claiming.

@@stickman787you obviously don't know much about how red central California really is. Cope ❄️.
I literally see no correlation. It’s seems most states allows child marriages while less states ban abortions. No relations at all
What?
If u d9nt love the greatest country to exist get out
It is based on cultural beliefs
But California had no minimum age??!
It’s no coincidence sadly the “lgbt community” prevents us from making laws to protect kids from marriage at a young age because that community always preaches “love is love” and since MAPS are part of the community it makes it harder to protect kids cause they think where discriminating them
its republican lawmakers that want children to marry adults. MAPs arent a real thing in the lgbt community, they claimed to be to avoid criticism but they are not accepted by us
"Child" isn't a gender, so no they are not a part of the lgbtq+ community. We do not accept pedos. Stop spreading misinformation.

What if the child identifies as someone old enough to legally marry?
You’re not funny. At all.
While I agree that generally child marriage should be illegal, I do see a big problem with this right off the bat. The use of the word "child." They're really adolescents in most cases, and it seems like both sides use the word "child" in attempts to shore up their position in an argument, and disregard it when it doesn't. One example of this is trying kids as adults when they've committed some horrific crime; usually they're adolescents. Another issue is letting children serve in the military. Again, adolescents. It feels like the truth is getting lost in journalism, and we're descending into clickbait and yellow journalism.
Adolescence is a transitional stage of childhood. They are still children. The real issue is calling an embryo or fetus a “child.”
Real cope is marriage is less reversible than gender transitions or something.
Calling an adolescent a child is like calling a child a baby
@@justinrivera1618… a baby is a child. A fetus is not. That’s why I said adolescence is the transitional period of childhood. Infant, toddler, early childhood, middle childhood and adolescence are stages of childhood development.
@@justinrivera1618 are you really confused right now about what is considered a child? like you’re not trying to say an adolescent ISN’T a child, are you? 👀
