Hello Max nice video off the moxon antenna , do the best regards to Matthew and Mark good friends off my . Helpt them with the delta loop . 73's cheers
Nice job Max! Referred here by another ham with a moxon and I really like the set up. Makes be think about setting up a mast base for several different portable and semi portable set ups in the back yard. Will be incorporating some of your techniques for sure!
Good video Max i like the minor adjusts you have made. This video just shows how easy you can build a moxon well..(if you have the ability to build like ourselves). I can assure u these are are one of the best beams to use on 11m base or portable. I have had mine up on a rotator on my roof for a good few months now and never had a problem (and always good S reports 5/9+ when prop is open, using low pwr) As you say the moxon is definitely a good antenna for swl as the pic up signals well because off there triangular shape. All complete now, just waiting for prop. Was a pleasure for me and 102 to build. 73’s 108AT103
Good video Max, i have been using a wire Moxon for years for portable and homebase they work very well and the rejection is fantastic, I use 4 fishing telescopic fishing whips and it weighs next to nothing.
Thanks. Yes, an incredible antenna. I have more recently done another Video on "how to build" the Moxon. This may be of use to you to see how I have built the third one. Cheers
The lengths of the rods was the final adjustment to have the shape, angles and tensions correct. I have a few Videos on the build and construction, measurements and use. Cheers
The original hub came from friends in Scotland. My more recent one used hoover pipes cut to size. I have no schematic but the important part is to keep the 40deg/140deg angles. The cheepie fishing rods from sports shop did the rest. Have a look at my other Moxon set-up Videos. Cheers
Hi. No balun as it is direct (dipole) feed resonant antenna and no gamma match needed too. I have a few Moxon Videos here would explain this. e.g.... ruclips.net/video/mxWMK8k7UKM/видео.html Cheers
I have tested it with 500watts and no issues. It tunes SWR < 1.7:1 25.8-28.0 mhz so your 40 Ch +/- no problem. Thanks for Your Comment. Take Care, Cheers
good afternoon max.my name is Aldair i'm your follower on youtube. i followed your video about a moxon antenna for 11m.my friend i don't speak english. i used the translator to ask you if it's possible that you can send me the measurements of the moxox antenna. thank you very much
Clever stuff. I like the coding for the poles and wire. Sort of thing i would have forgot.
Can't wait to try it out in anger. Cheers
fred you should have seen the 4 element we had at the delta romeo meet this weekend just gone made just as well as this and had great ears

I Just Did a Detailed video on it yesterday. Check it out. Thanks for Your Comment. Cheers
A good unit and well explained. thank-you! An ideal antenna for one band like 11metres. I might have a go at one of these.

@@MaxMountainWorld Thanks, I'll have a look
@@acestudioscouk-Ace-G0ACE Last month I think (June) a bit of a run down of the set up in the car same video
Great video. How critical are the rod lengths after you've measured out the wires to the correct lengths?

rub some candle wax on your rods at the joins. stops them sticking
Thanks, noted. I think I have it more or less sussed. Have a look at my more recent Videos on this great antenna (as I developed it) Cheers

Was it my imagination or did Max let rip a corker @ 8.17, Great video and antenna BTW
No Imagination. Well Spotted. I thought I got away with that! Thanks 73's
I will think positive and assess that my audio worries/settings for the camera were unfounded!!! Cheers
Have 1 for 144 mhz and 70 cm i love them jg
Just waiting for better wether here to really use it in anger. Thanks for your comment, Cheers
great video buddy well made very well done
Thanks. Your support much appreciated. Cheers
Make sure you use UV stabilized cable ties otherwise eventually they will deteriate and break.
Already considered and done. Thanks, Good point. Cheers
do you have schematics for the hub? also where did you source the poles?

@@MaxMountainWorld ok! so you salvaged some pipes from a vacuum cleaner - that is brilliant! love your construction vids

How many watts will that antenna handle and can you talk on regular CB band with it and 40 below and 40 above
