I’ve been wanting to go back and do some trail running there. I also have a second video of Mohican as well as two Ohio RUclips meetup videos that took place there. What did you hunt there, deer and turkey?
Awesome place to hike, cool rock formations, and anytime you come across waterfalls that is some good medicine, no matter what the size or flow are the falls are!
Thanks for the video. The best time to see the Big & Little Lyons Falls is in the Spring when we've had some rain (most years). Also, something to keep in mind about the trails in the southern section of the park are that they are bridal trails so "trail apples" are sometimes abundant. :)
Thanks for watching. Ya I kind of figured that the falls would not be flowing too much that time of year. Thanks for the trail apple warning :) I am hoping to finish the southern section in late March early April sometime. I know that there are a lot of bridle trails on that section, but for some reason I was thinking that the mountain bike trail was a separate trail....am I wrong?
Some nice video work. Thanks for taking us along. I think I lost 5 pounds just watching. Loved the eagle and it's always interesting to hear what gets other people out hiking. Mohican's a bit out of my way but I'll have to consider it now. Maybe hit that camp 10. It looked assume as long as the mini-van isn't a regular, lol. Coyotes don't bother me too much but that yipping is a bit creapy late at night.
The struggle is real with that Christmas weight. I hope I don't have that problem. Lol. Neat area isn't it? Mohican is pretty cool, glad you got to see campsite 10. I usually run and night hike a bunch in the "off" season because you're right, in shape isn't the same as hiking shape.
Nice job. My channel started the same way. I just enjoyed video editing and being able to watch my adventures. And im pretty sure camp 9 does not have a marker from the mountain bike trail, as we missed it too. haha. Good stuff man!
Thanks Jason! I do a ton of day hikes at Brecksville and the MTB loop here in Strongsville.... nice this time of year when you don't have to dodge Mountain Bikers plus it's a nice 10 mile loop! Wishing they had overnight loops here in Cuyahoga County though... would be awesome!
Found your channel researching a trip to Mohican State Park this weekend. It looks like I will watch more since you have plenty of Ohio videos. Keep on putting up content. Subscribed.
My wife and I stayed 2 nights at the lodge(the extent of her "camping"). In the morning I hiked from the covered bridge to the dam, via both falls, and back the other side in the morning, had lunch with her, and she dropped me off at the fire tower, and I hiked back to the lodge. It was a full day in the woods and was slightly warm weather, but not too bad in the shade by the water. Its a shame there is not a developed trail from the lodge to the dam. All in all a great time there, and we will definitely visit again.
welcome to my backyard lol i grew up less than 4 miles away and rode my dirt bike to the bridge almost everyday to go on adventures as a kid not a trail un-walked and stream un-ran i moved into loudonville last fall and cant wait to hit the trails every day so far ive camped at all ten sites for three to four days while exploring the woods i tend to not stick to trails and train myself in various ways
If you like covered bridges, go to Ashtabula County. They are the covered bridge capital of Ohio with 19. They also have the longest one in America and are still building them today. They have a covered bridge festival every year.
Thanks for sharing this. A buddy and I are probably going to do Mohican and Burr Oak after watching your videos. We probably won't hike as far, but that #10 campsite looks awesome and we are both retired so can hit it during the week with less traffic! Enjoyed hearing your reasons for hiking as well! Keep up the good work!!
Thank you! I hope you have a great time. I actually just returned from completing the mtb trail loop and most of the bridal trails this past weekend and hope to have the video up next week sometime.
Really enjoyed your video, Felt like I was there ,great job. Going to check out some more of your video's . Ohio weather is crazy yesterday 25 deg. today 57 ahh ohio weather lol
Thanks for sharing your trip. I have been waiting for a warm enough weekend to get down there. I have gotten cabin fever over this crazy winter. You should do a video on your farm too. I grew up on a small produce farm that now has one small retail greenhouse in Burton, Ohio that my parents still run. I now live in Doylestown, Ohio and am an engineer but I really want to make it down to your farm with my wife and parents. Let me know if you ever need a camera man.
Thanks for the comments Dan. We also have a channel for our farm, ruclips.net/channel/UCNsr5ybNko6KTu4NYYZ7k7A with 13 videos on it, but its about time to make a new one for this season. We always have big plans for using the drone more during planting and harvest but things get so busy during the summer, that time just seems to slip away on us. My 2 younger brothers are both engineers as well. One is back on the farm now, and the other does his own contracting work. Hopefully this crazy Ohio weather will straighten out soon....I would also like to get out on the trail before things get too overwhelming on the farm :)
thanks for the video we just moved to Mansfield we are going to the woods very good camera work wish you showed breakfast and snack breaks so to help with packing we went to Hocking hills fall it was great but dri hay thanks again
Thanks for watching zombiehunter0000! Ya sometimes its a challenge to know how much info to put into a video....it can end up being too short or too long lol. I usually have over two or three hours of footage that I try to condense to under 20 min. Mohicans mountain bike/hiking trails are pretty nice, I hope you can get out there soon to enjoy them.
Jason came across your video searching information on campsite 10. My son and I plan on staying there this weekend. I assume you hit the other campsites since you made this video. Do you have recommendation on best site of the 10? I have only fished the spillway with a buddy but never actually been in the park hiking or camping. My son and I figured this would be a nice short trip and test gear in leu of our Smoky Mountain trip next month.
Hey Coach, site 10 is one of the best! No water there though. My other favorites are site 3 and 5. I have videos of those sites as well....my return trip to mohican at site 5 and the Ohio youtube meetup was at site 3. Have a great trip in the Smokies!
Jason thanks for the quick response and information! I'll definitely check your other videos out on the other two sites! I like the keeping it real approach, nice job. GSMNP is one of my favorite places on earth to visit. I was out west this past July and had the chance to do the CD Loop Trail, which ended up a great trip. So hoping next month's trip will be as good! I like this winter camping idea, probably will do that this winter since Mohican is so close, step out of my comfort zone! Have a nice weekend!
Great video man. I been looking at some places to go hiking throughout ohio, PA, and North carolina. I plan on checking out the Wane National forrest, never been there before looks like a great place to check out
Ya, Wayne National Forest is definitely worth checking out. I have a video of Archers Fork, which is in Wayne and also Wildcat Hollow, but I would prob pass on Wildcat. Lake Vesuvius is another on my to do list this fall.
Mohican was one of my favorite hunting places .such a beautiful place

Really enjoyed your hike at Mohican! Thanks for all the trail and campsite info too!
Thanks for watching and the comment! I subscribed to ya today. Have you done any hiking around the Cuyahoga area?
Thanks Jason! I do a ton of day hikes at Brecksville and the MTB loop here in Strongsville.... nice this time of year when you don't have to dodge Mountain Bikers plus it's a nice 10 mile loop! Wishing they had overnight loops here in Cuyahoga County though... would be awesome!

Thank you! I appreciate the comment. Mohican also seems to be a good place for our Ohio youtube meetup...have another one coming in Oct.

Yes, that would be nice if the trail connected to the Lodge.

That is awesome! Sounds a little like what I did as a kid in all the woods around our farm! Thanks for the comment!

Thanks Perry Kibby, ya I think we might hit 60 deg. today! Unbelievable for mid Feb. Perfect for spending some time outdoors.

Nothing wrong with extra food .emergencies happen to often
Jason, how is it that you can be filmed while you are hiking? Is there another person there with you?
Selfi-stick
