Birmingham Airport Plane Spotting | Incl: Silkway & Compass Air Cargo 747s | 19th December 2024

A freezing Thursday at Birmingham Airport in the West Midlands as we plane spot from Car Parks 4 and 5 with runway 33 in action.
We start off at Birmingham New Street Station to take an Avanti West Coast Class 390 Pendolino train to Birmingham International Station before connecting with the Air-Rail Link train to Birmingham Airport terminal, and then to the car park 5 viewing area.
The three highlights at BHX today are the Air Tanker Airbus A330-200 operating for TUI Airways due to one of their aircraft going tech, and then there are two Boeing 747-400F's operated by Silkway West Airlines and Compass Air Cargo, which is quite rare to see at Birmingham Airport.
We also see a runway vacate by a TUI Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner just as it was about to takeoff, this was due to a technical problem.
I didn't want to wait for the Emirates Airbus A380 to depart, as it was freezing cold and I could not even feel my fingers for a moment, so I apologise for the lack of filming planes in this video.
Then lastly we head back to Birmingham International Station for some train spotting before taking a TfW Class 158 Express Sprinter to Birmingham New Street where I then connect with my train home for Christmas and the Winter holidays.
