    Important Note: The 40 minute run time is the combination of BOTH batteries, not 40 minutes per battery. Under real world conditions (thick/wet grass, etc.) expect 12 - 18 minutes per battery.

      Todd in my folo up video ruclips.net/video/3Lr3f017uOA/видео.html we talk about the marketing battery claim and what you can expect. Shame Ryobi prefers to give the marketing numbers and thus disappoint users when they can't achieve the advertised numbers. Thanks for sharing the info.

    I just bought one 3 days ago specifically to mow/bag a 20 x 30 area for my little dogs to relieve themselves, and taking care of mowing around a few family cemetery plots. I purchased less batteries, as I have many for my other tools. I used one of my 9ah batteries and only used half the charge of one battery to do all the mowing mentioned above. So far, I'm extremely pleased.

      Battery operated mowers have come a long way, don't miss the fuel, spills, odor and multi pulls to start. In over 35 yrs I have gone through 3 gas mowers and glad to be rid of them. In my lawn I go through battery and half of the 4Ah. Thanks for sharing your experience.

      Coming up on a year of use, which includes leaving it out in the rain (oops). Depending on how tall the grass is, I can just get it all done with two batteries or have plenty of juice leftover.

    I got one of these. I didnt see the mulch insert. Do you know if it can be run with the bag off and not side discharge?

    • @cfldriven
      @cfldriven 3 года назад +1

      My understanding is the mulch insert seals up the rear discharge and allow the clippings to circulate so they can be mulched easier. Without the plug it will either spew debris out the back or maybe clog the discharge opening.

    How much run time did you get? I know the box says 40 minute run.... just watched another review and the person showed in the video he was only getting 3 minutes before it shut... he got a total of 12 minutes 10 seconds before both batteries were fully depleted.

    Your estimated run hours are wrong.
    4.0ah averages 12-15 minutes per battery if you're really cutting tall grass.
    The other guy posted actual run time per battery. That convinced me to buy the Ryobi 40v with 6.0ah.
    He was able to cut little more than 1/2 acre.

    Will a 3500 sq ft yard be considered small?

    • @cfldriven
      @cfldriven 3 года назад

      At :48 sec into the video is a listing of what a quarter acre, the max recommended size, equals in sq ft. Your 3500 sq ft lawn is less than the max of 10890 sq ft, so you would be a good candidate for a mower of this size. Check with local utility to see if they are offering any rebates.

    I hated this mower I bought it and used it three times. The first time I used it was on a lot of long grass and heavily weeded lawn. So needless to say it didn’t last that long. About 10 to 12 min per battery. But on the second time I used it I finally got all the grass cut to a manageable length. It lasted me about the same amount of time. I then let the grass grow for about a week. The grass and weed growth wasn’t that bad. I timed both batteries while I was cutting. With a shorter cut lawn the batteries lasted about 10 to 11 minutes each. I still had the front lawn to do and was extremely frustrated. So I took it back and got an 21 inch EGO lawnmower instead. It was definitely worth the extra 100 bucks. I finished both the front yard and the back yard and still had more than 25% charge left in the batteries. If you plan on going batteries I’d suggest either Kolbalt or EGO from Lowes. The Ryobi series is pretty trash tbh.

      Happy to hear you found a mower that works with your lawn. My experience was bit different from yours, I got about 15 minutes per battery which got the 1/4 acre lawn down with two batteries. When I got the opportunity I upgraded to the Ryobi 20" with a 6Ah 40 volt battery, now I can get the lawn done and still have plenty of juice left on just one battery. Thank you for sharing your experience and for watching.

      Not with the included 4 amp battery. You'll average about 15 to 18 mins for each of the two included batteries. I had to buy two additional batteries to make sure I could get the lawn done. Switched to the 20" Ryobi which has a 6Ah battery at 40 volts and I now can easy do the entire yard with juice leftover. Check it out at ruclips.net/video/AFmHDFHUNFI/видео.html

      Sorry about that. To fold handle just loosen knobs at the mid section of the handle and at the bottom. They are designed not to come off which makes it easy to spin them until lose and then you just fold and store the whole thing away.

    This mower is garbage. I already had the Ryobi electric trimmer so I wanted to be efficient and eco-friendly. My yard is flat, relatively small. This thing feels like a toy, cuts out on any stick, taller grass, and feels like you’re fighting with it to perform its basic function, cutting grass. My 4ah battery lasted maybe 10 minutes. For the steep cost of extra batteries and the dinky power/torque it’s not worth it at all.

    • @cfldriven
      @cfldriven 3 года назад

      Not surprised if you are tackling tall grass and debris as that will cast the mower to throttle up and use more energy. I'm on a wooded lot and have to remove any branches prior to mowing, been getting 17 to 18 mins per battery. This certainly not a muscle machine, but meant for small and regularly cut lawns as per manual. From you description you probably would be happier with a higher end battery mower, or a corded unit. Thank you for sharing your experience.

      Sorry to hear not working as it should. Eight months later and I'm still getting 16 to 18 minutes per 4Ah battery. And while they feel warm after running down, they are not hot. Either they are getting hot from being out in the sun or they are defective. Are you trying another brand of battery mower?
