I never heard them talk.. All they made were screeching sounds. When you hit them with the machine, gun. They just go ow multiple times and screech. The only thing I hear was "we're going to die. or he's everywhere".

I've heard most of these. Some of them are triggered by hiding during combat for a while and they lose track of you. If you try to play stealthy and take them out from the shadows (A winning strategy for some legendary levels) you can hear a bunch. Update: Apparently for the PC port of halo CE, gearbox cut a bunch of audio clips. When 343 reported the Xbox assets to MCC Halo CE, it brought them all back. That's how I've heard them.
Halo CE Grunts have the greatest voices and dialogue of any Grunts. Halo 2 seriously made grunts stupid to the point it wasn't even funny or cute it was just dumb. How tf could Bungie ruin something as great as Halo CE Grunts???

Halo 2 grunts had their moments, but paled in comparison to Halo 1 grunts. They stopped being funny in Halo 3.
