The LA metal scene in the early 80's (1981/82/83) was magical - so many great bands. Then it got too glammed out and went downhill - that's when I got into thrash metal and later hardcore punk.
This has a much more NWOBHM-style production. It's rawer and less polished and the overall tempo is a tad faster. Much more like Tygers or Tokyo Blade here.
Black 'N Blue were more classic hard rock/heavy metal than glam in their early days - they got glammier when they signed to a major. This song fucking rocks!
Honestly this version is so much better than the studio one.
Rob Kresnicka I agree this one is much heavier
I agree. This is much better than the other.
Couldn't agree more
Surely is. Those metal comps were always great pick-ups.
You mean the debut album version - this was also recorded in a studio 😎
Great song, wish I still had those Metal Massacre tapes!
Esta versión es la mejor de está gran banda. Más heavy metal de principio de los 80's

Ive been listening to a cover of this song by Cauldron for years now, I never knew that it was a cover of Black n' Blue untill today.
+Oskar Rönngren The guys from Cauldron know their stuff

Yeah, other LA metal bands like Armored Saint, Ratt and Malice were also rawer and heavier before they signed to major labels.
@@hinjurock70 Great point. Theres a video of Rough Cutt I saw performing live on a local LA show, before they got signed. Way way heavier!
@@eschultzz
Definitely. They were managed by Wendy Dio and their singer Paul Shortino was being hyped as the next Dio.
@@hinjurock70 you basically compared 3 different bands. Facepalm. Armored Saint got heavier by late 80's btw.

Yes, I did - so? Their demos and indie releases were all heavier than their major label debuts.
I wore the groves off this album.............
Great Band
Glam on metal blade? Oh, the horror! 5/5.

Yes this version is more raw and not polished like the remake. Metal massacre baby...
The only band to not glam on this record….Metallica
