    I thank God for the people who sneaked their cameras into the concerts. I was a very young child back then so I would never have seen what they were like in those days and never would have seen Jeffrey doing his thing if not for these videos.

    Saw Tull first time in 1968 for $1.50 in N.Y.C. and have been a fan ever since . My introduction to rock music and what an introduction it was . Ian is the ultimate front man. Tull is in a class by themselves and nobody has come close to replicating them. Thanks for the video. Brings back great memories of what it was like to see Tull in the early years.

    Damn it, i'm open-mouthed that you have recordings of Jethro Tull in 1972 during the Thick As Brick tour, I hope you find more and keep posting. Your channel has become one of my favorites with active and rare content from Jethro Tull, always keep up the great work bringing these treasures to the fans!

    Keep hoping Ian be cleaning out his wine cellar or something and come across professionally shot video of both TAAB and APP complete shows. Hey, it could happen! No harm in dreaming.

    Incredible. 50 years on, filmed on super 8, and still just bursts off the screen. If only I was five years older I could have seen them then (I didn't hear about them until SFTW in '77). They must have just been light years ahead of every other band - no wonder they were such a giant draw. So glad you found this (and restored, corrected, improved, cleaned-up, etc. - no doubt a fair bit of work on your part) and posted it. Just... A-MAY-ZING!!!!

    I HAVE WITNESSED GEORGE HOTEL LIVE IN CONCERT PERSONALLY FROM 1970 THROUGH THE END OF 2001 WHICH WAS THE LAST TOUR I WITNESSED.. JETHRO TULL IS ASTONISHING IN THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL WAY COMBINING PURE PROGRESSIVE ROCK JAZZ AND BLUES INTO ONE COGNITIVE JOYFUL EXPERIENCE.. WILL ALWAYS LOVE THEM HAVE ALWAYS LOVED THEM FROM THE FIRST TIME I HEARD AN ALBUM CALLED THIS WAS AND THEN STAND UP AND THEN BENEFIT.. BEEN FOLLOWING THEM EVER SINCE WITH EXCITEMENT AND CURIOSITY.. EVENTUALLY WORKING WITH THEM BETWEEN 1976 AND THE END OF 1979 AS A DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHER BOTH STILL AND WHAT IS NOW CONSIDERED VIDEO MARK..

    Great! Thank you so much for posting. Great footage!! Saw the Aqualung tour and saw this tour twice. Imagine seeing them when they were this young with today’s sound and video equipment. People wouldn’t know what hit them. This is THE lineup. I missed Clive at first sight but soon forgot as Barriemore shined brightly. They had no equal live at this time.

    OMG, I can't believe it. Thank you JT (the downloader) and thank you JT (best live band ever - this lineup in particular). Never ever thought I'd see such an amazing thing. Fantastic quality clips from the very first concert I ever attended (our tickets were up in the rafters of ye olde Boston Garden, cost us $4.50 each). The group I'd idolized since first hearing Aqualung the year before and have continued to hold in the utmost highest regard to this very day.

    I saw the TAAB tour in Seattle 6-11-72, best concert of my life, in large part because of Martin Barre's incendiary guitar work. Sadly this footage includes none his solos, it's almost as if the his Aqualung solo was surgically spliced out. Still, wonderful footage of the greatest band I ever saw.

    I was hoping we'd hear Ian say after Thick, "And now for our second number". I saw them in Boston the following year for the Passion Play concert. I now have 75 Tull recordings in my collection. Love this band.

    Man, I just made a comment on the other video where I thought that this tour wasn't filmed. I'm speechless. Jeffrey was such a character. This magical period 1971-75 makes me wonder how Tull would be if Jeffrey stayed in the band for a couple more years.

    • @jethrotullcollection8446

      Yes Jeffrey was a real driving force for the band, but he had a different passion

    • @augustovasconcellos19
      @augustovasconcellos19 3 года назад

      @@jethrotullcollection8446 Yes. And I kinda believe that his love for painting influenced also the cover of the albums (the aesthetics of A Passion Play and Minstrel were a lot different from what we seem in 1976 and latter).

      @@jethrotullcollection8446Polite and diplomatic. While I wished he had stayed in the band, as this is my favorite line-up, he wasn't a great base player. Extremely entertaining, but just basic in the base playing department.

    Thanks very much for this. TAAB is one of my all time favorites. Could this be from Nov 1 since on Nov 2 some Boston newspapers mentioned that there was a telephone call for a "British Constable" (referring to PC Grimpace) during the show?

    • @jethrotullcollection8446
      @jethrotullcollection8446  2 года назад

      I am not sure. The person who sent me the cassette tape many years ago said it was Nov 3 but that date for sure was wrong. I also have another Boston recording on RUclips which the taper said was Nov 1st. Would you happen to have any links to that newspaper review?

    Les gars ont toujours l'air détendus mais leur musique est compliquée à jouer.... tout est prévu et réglé au dixième de seconde.....des pros.... l'improvisation est permise après avoir maîtrisé la technique à fond
