Thanks for opening up the door for the Don and Rudy era. Although I’ll always wonder what a lineup of Rubio, Mitchell, Hayward, favors and Gobert could have done.
nah imagine if they kept george hill, still traded for crowder and used favors as a backup center like he should’ve been. starting lineup hill, mitchell, hayward, crowder, gobert
Gotta be one of the darkest days in Jazz history.. the build boards, the stayward hashtags, the chants, the unwavering support throughout the years… all ending because of a piece put in The Players Tribune 😔
@@801MOTO3 Go and google The Players Tribune - Gordon Hayward. He announced his departure from the Jazz via The Players Tribune. It was reported prior to this Tribune piece that he had made the decision to leave us. He came out right after saying that those reports were “false” and that he hadn’t made a decision yet. After a couple hours of waiting, this piece dropped out of no where. The false hope that was given in order to finish his Players Tribune piece was heinously thought through. It was a lot to handle as a Jazz fan when it dropped. Felt like we got played like a fiddle.
@@801MOTO3 after he decided that he was a coward that would take less money to get carried to a chip as a #2/3 option vs having the balls to be a #1 garnering the respect, legacy and money that it brings. He issued a thank you to Utah in players tribune saying great things about Utah right after sacrificing 10s of milions to get away. He did this last minute essentially screwing our offseason and any chance to do damage control with trades signing etc. at least Jazz saved 20-30 mil since we didnt have time to replace him that year.
Man he’s like a ex girlfriend you ain’t wanna see. I was big Gordon fan even had that haircut but Gordon did the jazz dirty and was shocked to see him on my feed😂😂
You have to care about Utah before caring about the legacy you have here. He seems to have no love for his time in Utah given the 10s of millions he sacrificed to get away.
Many Jazz players have left to go elsewhere thinking they could do better. Many of them ended up like Hayward. He can't really expect the fans to like him after all that happened.
I believe most Jazz fans were disappointed when he left and how it happened. Regardless how it all happened Gordon was a great player and brought effort each night. My guess is that if he could have a do over, he would have chosen differently. I remember Kobe last game when he stepped into the foul lane just encase Kobe missed the FT. I have much respect he had that awareness of that situation.
When Gordon had that nasty ankle injury my buddy said, “Should’ve called Gail!” He left on a sour note but I still wish he stayed on the Jazz. It would have been great to see what could have been.
Teams treat it like a business but when a player does, people call them a traitor. He was a great player, sad we lost him, but I'm glad he did what he felt was best for his personal life and goals.
The reason Gordon hurt so much was because we had just gotten over the hump and were a playoff team. We had defended him for a lot of years. Also, it hit hard because if we couldn’t keep a white, married, Republican who liked to play video games with a max deal then who could we keep?!
No coming back from that. You know he did us dirty for less money. He wanted nothing to do with us when he was valued. Then forced to retire and now this?....
Oh boo-hoo, Jazz fans. Hayward left because it was the best opportunity for him as a professional. It really had nothing to do with the Jazz because GH had this unique ability that gave him options to get paid what he was worth in the NBA and choose where he wanted to go. It is tragic that he got hurt and that it impacted his career the way it did. He would have been a legend anywhere had he not suffered that catastrophic injury. Amazing that he was able to come back from that. That was grit.
Who cares about this guy, he hated Utah and now that he's 6 years washed up he wants to slither back into our good graces so he can regain and keep a popularity status
Loved Hayward when he played in Utah! Hated to see him go to Boston, but I grew up a Celtics fan before there was a Utah Jazz. Always thought there was a little too much hate thrown his way. And I was sad to see his injury derail his B-ball career somewhat. Wish he would have stayed, but would we have gotten Donovan? I think Donovan would have broken our hearts just like Hayward had he not been traded. Wishing Gordon all the best in his storytelling. Here’s hoping he does make family friendly movies.

GH is a great dude... no offense but who stays in Utah? Not D Will, not GH, not Mitchell, not even Rudy. Small market... he left believing he'd win the ship...he never says anything but good things about Utah... stop the hate
The hippocracy of fans feelings is surprising, teams trade players all the time, players are just supposed to get over it. Hayward gave 100% when he was here. He made a decision that he thought was best for him
Why is the interviewer more obsessed with his haircuts, his glow up, and his appearance?? 🌈 🌈 than the fact that he betrayed jazz fans? “Why did you betray the jazz the way you did?” “Do you regret your decision?” “Do you believe in karma?” Interviewer clearly too young to this organization and attracted to Gordon to understand how burned UJ fans are by him
Dude had perfect running mate. Owned SLC and could've had more money respect and status as #1 loyal small market dude like Dame but better(maybe Giannis) thx to Rudy, but chose less money to be a #3 and get carried. Yeah he deserves to be a nobody because after all it's what he wanted.
He should stayed on the Jazz or went to the Miami Heat....he would still be in the NBA because they don't just discard their stars as they age. NBA didn't want him in the league anymore just like Iverson and Carmelo they start trading you to teams where you don't fit and give you scattered min put you in position to fail and the media starts talking crap. Last year on the Hornets GH was still putting up good numbers and then all of the sudden he can't play anymore on OKC. Injury that derailed his career...Jae Crowder gets away with not only taking out GH legs but holding him down up high on his jump pointless flagrant foul game 1of season that never got called or discussed.
Paid like a champion and never made any difference. Even the Clippers series went through Joe Johnson. This is why it’s hard to watch the NBA now. It’s just mostly sports entertainment like the old WWF. Stupid cliches and selling you the promise they never can deliver on. Jazz belong in the G league since Jerry left, just a farm team selling tickets to watch a “process”.
Im sorry , did this guy play for Utah? What years ? Don't recognize him . He washed the second he did them dirty. No one cares u leave and do what's best for you, but to leave like that is just wrong .
I came to this video not to watch, but to comment: Betrayward has no place in Jazz History or NBA for that matter. He will always be known as one of the “could’ve been’(s)” and he gave it up, for what?

I loved how in that new documentary the Jazz made it completely just ignores that he was ever here 😂
Hayward could have been a legendary Jazz man. Instead, he's one of the most despised former Jazz players in history.

Thats the real reason it hit hard and hurt for sure.
Glad to see this. Gordon needs to rebuild bridges here, but if there's any place where that will work, it's Utah.

Mitchell was drafted in June, just weeks before the decision to leave.
Watch his body language when asked about the 3 teams and the decision to leave.
Gordon chose money over legacy, very few of us care anything at all for him, people in Boston could care less as well as people in charlotte.
LOL. Not true he would've gotten paid more if he stayed contract wise.

I saw this dude made 20 straight three pointers during warm-ups against the Clippers in 2014.
That's really not that uncommon for nba players during warm ups. Lauri could do that relatively easy.
Jazz fans are so soft bro. Get over it. Dudes a great human and im happy he did this interview. Wishing you the best gordon.

Seriously, I didn't expect Jazz to interview Hayward. Never!

He made a bad decision and threw the Miller's, fans and Utah under the bus. Benedict Arnold Hayward is a well deserved name.
Jazzman forever. Lebron undercut him game one with Boston. It would love been different with him don and Rudy though
I wouldn't waste 10 seconds of my time listening to anything from Hayward. He would have washed out in the NBA if not for the Jazz!
Who is this guy?? I've never heard of him.... Why is he getting press time??
he played for us like 8 years ago then left us in free agency to go to boston, almost all jazz fans despise him
