For anyone still hunting this crown, I wanted to note that this Kushala on the video seems to be the biggest there is (based on Kiranico and calculations). So if you see one that's just a bit smaller than this you should try it. My hunter's head went a bit over the black line compared to 1:02 and it was the smallest that qualifies as gold crown.

Love how a 4 box tempered purple mission has a 30 minute time lime for two people..... Even with fatalis gear with the wind armor like get out with that crap MHW. Rather have 30 minutes or 50 minutes 1 faint.
Just got my FINAL Large Gold Crown thanks to your measuring guide for Kushala. This really simplified the measuring process and allowed me to snipe much more effectively. Seriously, I appreciate ya bro
After a whopping amount of 197 Kushala Daora hunts, I have finally obtained the large crown. He really is significantly bigger than usual and would seem like his head is even bigger than the size of your hunter. Thanks again, now all that remains is Black Diablos.
It seems the difference between a silver and gold crown is really weird; I have screenshots of a Kushala's tail poking out from the bushes by the Lichi (as per 0:43 in the video) yet I didn't get a gold crown from it. Had the same sort of issue with a Kirin where I kept getting a bigger silver but no gold. This is one of the final crowns I need for the Iceborne platinum and it's driving me crazy. I'm going to have to try luring him in the Guiding Lands as I've used up all my investigations. Anyway thank you for your measuring videos, they're a brilliant help!

After months of searching, my friend and I found a Kushala the exact size of this, we got so good at killing them that they no longer posed any threat, upon killing it, nothing showed up for me, which was not surprising and just meant that I had to go back to grinding, yet my friend got the Large Gold Crown for it. I never felt so cheated by a game, I still don’t know how it happened.
After 100+ excruciating Kushala kills over 20 hours with Longsword only I finally got the big Crown (had gotten the small one from a random investigation beforehand), and with it I finally got both crown achievements for the base game in less than 2 months time. Your videos helped me and many other people a ton man, thank you a ton for your videos!
Thanks again, Gaming with Abyss, it took 53 attempts to get the crown on this guy. I couldn't have done it without your assistance. I did HR Tempered in the Elder's Recess, and he measured perfectly at one spot then he didn't size up in another. I could just tell from farming him this one was noticeably bigger. Tailllllllllllll just got mini. Wicked sign to go for. I knew it soon as i saw tip. Mini in the bag. Best crown vids out there but if i am was to be a little critical, sometimes your camera angle looking at monsters legs etc is not horizontal meaning this could make the difference of a crown or not if you understand me. Like your camera angles are slightly higher than you looking at your character but still a massive thumbs up to your vids n commentary.
Congratulations on getting a crown and yes the tail was definitely the best way to measure in the Ancient Forest. With the camera I try to make it so that it was as straight as possible

Yeah this was definitely one of the easier Elders to farm for Investigations too. You just follow Kulu-Ya-Ku around the forest and pick up the tracks left behind.

Thanks for the vid man. Got this one last night. The tail measurement was my best indicator. I’m working on giant Kirin, Teostra and Vaal Then I’m done! Rng is being a pain in the but with me. 🤦♂️I do want to mention that the tail needs to be past the log and the bush hitting the second line on his tail. I got a silver when his tail was long but the tip was exactly the same length of bush.
I abort because it's faster then restarting from your base. Sometimes the monsters are the same size and other times they are bigger n smaller. Not enough info really to stop aborting
I’ve literally ran out of investigations for teostra sniping for large gold. Any suggestions on farming some more? I’ve tried picking up prints from wildspire teostra but getting random investigations.
Run a couple 7 star investigations like the 2 Diablos and pick up a bunch of tracks. The 6 stars gave me zero. I was able to get 3 invest from the 7 stars

I wish I would have did a video for The Elder recess. But many people have said back the leg as the same measurement. 7 * monsters within the Ancient Forest, if you use their investigations and pick up some footprints. You should get a couple Kushala investigations

Kushala should get you the Platinum. Deviljho is extra credit. Did you get a Gold Crown from Teostra because I did at 2237.69 This was from the first mission from Lunastra

When you first see Kush sitting down. The Tail can be measure by a log on how much the tail goes past it. (0:45) TV and system is all packed away. I will hopefully get the internet on by Friday but most likely you will prevail and have the crown and platinum by then. Sorry bad timing
Me and a friend struggle to get the gold crown daora and we did well over 200 investigations... could you do another one with elders recess? And is the tail always close to that tree?
I know this is a bit late to the game, but is there a reliable way to farm Kushala investigations? I never seem to get Kushala Daora anymore, and when I try to get tracks from it directly, it wastes too much time sitting around without giving me anything from the tracks.
Normally Footprints from 7 * monsters will give you elder dragons investigation. Example you don't want to pick up Footprints from the great jagras because it's a 6 * monster. Something like the Rathalos from the Ancient Forest or that particular Elder Dragon footprints

Kushala is a difficult one to get the gold crown. So I would go to the Ancient Forest and stack up as many of investigation as I can possible by picking up footprints
ok I just killed a bigass Kushala who's tail went PAAST the wiggly log just like at 0:45 and it wasn't even a silver crown... gree this is getting soooo frustrating!
This damn thing is the bane of my existence. I've gone through 10 investigations (All of them having around 3 to 5 Tries) and not a damn Large Crown in sight...jesus I hate it so much.
The one I got was in a investigation with 2 Silver and 1 Gold. Kushala and Nergigante large gold were giving me trouble. What's left for you to get after this one?
It's been 1 day and still nothing. I swear I've been around 2 or 3 that are exactly like the ones in the video you made and they weren't crowns. Like...how!? :(
Can you please do one at the elders recess . All the measurements are different and the ground isn't very even for the measurements to transfer to the recess
This is one of the ones I wish I would have did the measurement for the Elder Recess. The problem is I'm way past my save point so I won't be able to go back and redo it to get an accurate measurement. Sorry
Tail Raider Safaris and different investigations that are 7 star. What I mean is say you do a Rathalos investigation and you pick up a bunch of their footprints there's a chance to get a Kushala investigation
Your best bet is to start an expedition in the Ancient Forest and run around picking up tracks. This is best done if Kulu Yaku is around as he drops an insane number of tracks vs the other monsters. Follow him for about 10-15 mins and then leave. I was picking up 30 investigations at a time and 5 of them were for Kushala
It's kind of similar measurement for the front right arm but you'll notice that more less on the left front arm. Sorry I wish I would have saved my USB and did a measurement for The Elder recess
A couple people have said that it works on the Elder recess. But if you have any for the Ancient Forest I recommend doing it there because it's really easy to measure by using the tail
Day 29 of crown hunting. I am down to a large Kushala Crown and a Small Teostra Crown left to get. The game knows this, and is flat out refusing to even give me investigations for them anymore.
@@GamingWithAbyss it's just annoying that I pick up Kushala tracks for half an hour, i get investigations for everyone but. I've just spent the last four hours picking up Nergigante tracks and only got three investigations that I need out of it.
Since I am on the PlayStation I cheated on most of my investigations by making a USB save with a whole bunch of good investigations then once I ran out of them I reloaded my save
Kind of worthless if your just unlucky and don’t get ancient forest investigations I wanted to say that your guide was helpful, but it wasn't. Their was just to much variation on where it sits for this to work. I had so many runs that checked every box, but then wasn't even a silver.
No all my latest videos were regular monsters. But it would be easier in a tempered version. Kushala gave me a lot of trouble though took about a week to get it
Very good guides has helped me a lot, but I have a big problem with Kushala Daora and it is that I do not get the size for the mega crown and I spent all my research and even in aid begala does not appear, there will be some way that can help me please :)
This particular Elder Dragon took me a week to get the gold crown for. Unfortunately it is not an easy one to get which can drive people crazy. It's probably best to try a tempered or an investigation with two silver and one gold
I have to have over 350 investigations with 267 slayed and still haven’t gotten the large gold crown. Three times I’ve got silver crowns, but no gold. This game is fucking torture and it’s the last one I’ve need for over a month.
Oh wow that's not good at all. The only thing I can recommend is trying investigation with that these two silver and one gold those seem to work the best

I measure him over there using his front arms. Same as the ancient forest, I want the darker portion of his scales to be above my head. I like the (2 Silver 1 Gold) & (1 Bronze 1 Silver 1 Gold) investigations the most.
My save is already been past the point of reverting back. He does measures the same way except you can't use his tail as a bonus like you can in the Ancient Forest

Im farming for literally 12h+ both mini and giant gold crown of Kushala Daora.. Dont got any crown until now.. Its my last 2 crows for the plat but this RNG is pure bs.. Im oficialy not plating the DLC.

Yes you can get them from those investigations. But when I started my second character and redid all the crown videos. I was able to get all the crowns within a 155 hours and most of those were investigations with 1 silver and 1 gold.
bro... im save scrubbing my investigations for kushala cus I only have a few 2S/1G investigations. ok, so I do a tempered 30 min nd he is big as hell right? I get a warrior streamstone for my dual blades!!!!!! buut....... he was NOT a large crown! Such BS lol ---- i have to give up the streamstone in order to keep the invvestigations. lol omg this kushala crown SUUUUUUCKS

So it seems the game won't let you jump sizes. What I mean is go from small silver straight to a gold. I fought a Kush this evening about this size and got silver, guessing it is because my previous silver was like 200 units off from the gold. Now I'm like 90 units off. Not sure if coincidence but it's happened to me on every elder so far
I had a lot of trouble with Kush. I remember trying for 3 days with no luck then I came back a week later and tried for couple days and then I got it. A lot of the times they were silver almost gold. Not an easy monster to get the gold crown for so I wish you luck

Kushala is one of the toughest ones to get. It took me about a week to get the crown. Hopefully it doesn't take you that long good luck hunting

Yeah the tail is the best spot to look at it. If it wasn't long enough I quickly aborted and left

Kushala should get you the Platinum. Deviljho is extra credit. Did you get a Gold Crown from Teostra because I did at 2237.69 This was from the first mission from Lunastra

For the base game. You have a good chance if it's a silver and gold reward box. You will have a higher chance if it's a tempered Quest

i need some help bro... do you have any 2Silver/1Gold investigations so I can get this last crown.... the measurements you took here I cant really tell. I dunno what you mean by measuring by the tail either,
When you first see Kush sitting down. The Tail can be measure by a log on how much the tail goes past it. (0:45)

Me and a friend struggle to get the gold crown daora and we did well over 200 investigations... could you do another one with elders recess? And is the tail always close to that tree?
I know this is a bit late to the game, but is there a reliable way to farm Kushala investigations? I never seem to get Kushala Daora anymore, and when I try to get tracks from it directly, it wastes too much time sitting around without giving me anything from the tracks.
Normally Footprints from 7 * monsters will give you elder dragons investigation. Example you don't want to pick up Footprints from the great jagras because it's a 6 * monster. Something like the Rathalos from the Ancient Forest or that particular Elder Dragon footprints

When I was trying to get one in the Elder recess, I was mainly looking at his front arms and making sure that the darker scales were above my head

After 68 Kushala Daora I managed to get both gold crowns for it (been a while since I decided to stop playing and just rest a bit of MHW), now Kirin.

How do you get so many investigations on Kushala ? I've tried all the ones I had (around 50 tries) and not even one Gold Crown...
Kushala is a difficult one to get the gold crown. So I would go to the Ancient Forest and stack up as many of investigation as I can possible by picking up footprints

This damn thing is the bane of my existence. I've gone through 10 investigations (All of them having around 3 to 5 Tries) and not a damn Large Crown in sight...jesus I hate it so much.
The one I got was in a investigation with 2 Silver and 1 Gold. Kushala and Nergigante large gold were giving me trouble. What's left for you to get after this one?

This is one of the ones I wish I would have did the measurement for the Elder Recess. The problem is I'm way past my save point so I won't be able to go back and redo it to get an accurate measurement. Sorry
How do you get kushala investigation for ancient forest? Having trouble in elder recess :/
Tail Raider Safaris and different investigations that are 7 star. What I mean is say you do a Rathalos investigation and you pick up a bunch of their footprints there's a chance to get a Kushala investigation
Your best bet is to start an expedition in the Ancient Forest and run around picking up tracks. This is best done if Kulu Yaku is around as he drops an insane number of tracks vs the other monsters. Follow him for about 10-15 mins and then leave. I was picking up 30 investigations at a time and 5 of them were for Kushala

It's kind of similar measurement for the front right arm but you'll notice that more less on the left front arm. Sorry I wish I would have saved my USB and did a measurement for The Elder recess

That's a good idea sometimes if you're having trouble getting the crown it's good to take a little break and then come back to it later. Best of luck

A couple people have said that it works on the Elder recess. But if you have any for the Ancient Forest I recommend doing it there because it's really easy to measure by using the tail

I was trying for a week to get this crown. For some reason is not an easy one to get. I'll probably focus more on the tempered ones.

Day 29 of crown hunting. I am down to a large Kushala Crown and a Small Teostra Crown left to get. The game knows this, and is flat out refusing to even give me investigations for them anymore.
Yeah also it's the anticipation of being that close of completing it. I know when I was down to one I was so hyped and ready for it to be done
@@GamingWithAbyss it's just annoying that I pick up Kushala tracks for half an hour, i get investigations for everyone but. I've just spent the last four hours picking up Nergigante tracks and only got three investigations that I need out of it.
Since I am on the PlayStation I cheated on most of my investigations by making a USB save with a whole bunch of good investigations then once I ran out of them I reloaded my save

I wanted to say that your guide was helpful, but it wasn't. Their was just to much variation on where it sits for this to work. I had so many runs that checked every box, but then wasn't even a silver.

Very good guides has helped me a lot, but I have a big problem with Kushala Daora and it is that I do not get the size for the mega crown and I spent all my research and even in aid begala does not appear, there will be some way that can help me please :)
This particular Elder Dragon took me a week to get the gold crown for. Unfortunately it is not an easy one to get which can drive people crazy. It's probably best to try a tempered or an investigation with two silver and one gold

Can't you just spam the lvl 100 tempered side quest with kushala teostra and nergigante to get kushala? Kushala is also the first one you must fight.
I believe that's an optional Quest. I haven't heard of anybody getting any crowns out of it. So I can't recommend it

I have to have over 350 investigations with 267 slayed and still haven’t gotten the large gold crown. Three times I’ve got silver crowns, but no gold. This game is fucking torture and it’s the last one I’ve need for over a month.
Oh wow that's not good at all. The only thing I can recommend is trying investigation with that these two silver and one gold those seem to work the best

I measure him over there using his front arms. Same as the ancient forest, I want the darker portion of his scales to be above my head. I like the (2 Silver 1 Gold) & (1 Bronze 1 Silver 1 Gold) investigations the most.
I Slay it over 130 Times but no luck on Giant one

Yes you can get them from those investigations. But when I started my second character and redid all the crown videos. I was able to get all the crowns within a 155 hours and most of those were investigations with 1 silver and 1 gold.

So it seems the game won't let you jump sizes. What I mean is go from small silver straight to a gold. I fought a Kush this evening about this size and got silver, guessing it is because my previous silver was like 200 units off from the gold. Now I'm like 90 units off. Not sure if coincidence but it's happened to me on every elder so far
I had a lot of trouble with Kush. I remember trying for 3 days with no luck then I came back a week later and tried for couple days and then I got it. A lot of the times they were silver almost gold. Not an easy monster to get the gold crown for so I wish you luck
