A beautiful young woman with a very old soul. I am African American, but I have listened to calypso/soca all my life. She has the spirit of calypso's ancestors. Just a statement: I used to hang out at a spot on Nostrand Avenue near Fulton Street in Brooklyn, New York. It was next to Rainbow Terrace. It used to be called "Fight Back, East Port of Spain." I used to play the irons there. All Fours card games were also held there. There were certain "activities" there that shall remain nameless. It was actually a hole in the wall, but it had the best parties on earth. People would leave the fancier Rainbow Terrace just to hang out at Fight Back. Folks, I go way back...
I'm American too from Brooklyn...I fell in love with Caribbean music seeing and experiencing jouvert...the whole band would come down Linden Blvd. at 2 am...I fell in love with the culture, the men, the dancing, the music...love soca and everything soca - got a chance to experience the Uber Soca Cruise where they had Jouvert in Labaee, Haiti...it was really an experience and i loved every moment
I dont know whats more beautiful. Nailah's smile, energy and love for Sokah/T&T or these beautiful children embodying the same thing? Beautiful island people!
This year was the first time I visited Trinidad. I was held at knife point. That was the most fear I'd felt in my entire life. As a Grenadian, when you hear about crime in Trinidad, Laventille is a name that always comes up. I wasn't staying in Laventille but I was always walking with a cloud of insecurity because everyone talks about the violence. I love this video because even though sometimes we live in places where life could be so hard, we can still find a way to see beauty. Big up to all my Trinis...doh mind if we claim Nailah too
So sorry to hear of ur experience claim her ....we claim you all to..much love and hope u have a better time on your next visit to trinidad #triniwithgrenedianhertiage
This song feels like a reintroduction to the quintessential sound of soca music. She's been given the gift of having the soul of soca music imbedded in her - phenomenal work ✨
She is sooo freaking refreshing. I love all that she is, her voice, her energy, her vibes. Patrice will always be my number one female when it comes to soca but Nailah is definitely holding it down. She's definitely a welcome addition to the game.
I really love this song, dunno but there's this strange feeling like I'm in the carnival surrounded by all the people, feeling the sun in my skin and the breeze of the sea hitting my face ¡Oh my! I need to get out my house and JAM THIS IRON LOVE 🔥 from Panama 🇵🇦 I send my love all through the whole Caribbean.
