A goddamn legend. *Only two deaths* in a sub-category as hard as this, for a game already seen as Nintendo Hard.
Not to mention he's speedrunning it
An OHKO category, done with the base weapon only (with minor exceptions), and done as fast as possible.

This was such a hard run but he made it look so easy.
One thing missing about this year's run is the applause after each boss victory

This is one of my favorite runs ever. The commentators do an amazing job. Engaging, interesting, natural and no dead air. Coolkid is very entertaining with just facial expressions, and a great run.
no hit buster only megaman runs have always been so impressive and enjoyable to me. huge respect to anyone that does them. this one in particular he made it look so easy... really nice work

If this was a rom hack, I wonder if there is a way to remove the blocks in the wily stage that needed the elecman beam, and to add additional blocks in the area that needed the magnet beam?

Absolutely mad run, haha! I had to play months as a kid to even beat a level, and I never beat the game until two years ago, at 30 lmao. Difficult game!

So.. this guy speedruns Mega Man 1 and gets hit twice. Without additional weapons.
And it isnt a TAS.
"Legendary" doesnt even come close. This run is beyond mythical.
As a kid Megaman 2 was my first one in the series and after three hit I asked my dad if I could get the original. He was working in Texas on a rig at the time and sent all his workers out when they had time to find me the game. My dad wanted me to have it that much and they found it. I plugged it in expecting more of the same on my birthday and it kicked my ass. Just so much unforgiving mechanics on every level. I did eventually beat it but that cartridge means a great deal to me even today. It was a good series and you make it look so simple.

Would be cool if a game was made where you gain 1 extra hp after every boss fight, meaning by final boss you have at least 16. It would make strategic damage more interesting in later levels and would have routing implications as well

Edit - 20:09 Believe it or not, it actually ISN'T that hard, the Mega Man clone fight is actually HARDER once you learn the pattern. In fact, it's actually EASIER than the MM11 version, even though you can slide and it has a speed gear phase that's basically a joke (my guess is hitbox dissonance but I don't actually know the reason)
