Trisha Biggar did "Star Wars" to appeal to young girls even if it did have an Earl K Bergey scene similar to Elaan of Troyious while Trekkie episodes and comic book origin Buck Rogers were created to appeal to pin ups.
I am such a Sci Fi geek. So I loved this show. But I was going through puberty as this show was on. These 2 ladies were my dream ladies (Kind of still are) back in the day. And Daisy Duke (Catherine Bach). Oh, and Wonder Woman (Lynda Carter)
And let's not forget the gallery of gorgeous female guest stars. And the show itself is actually very good. I didn't expect to like it. I took a chance on the blu ray a few years ago when the price dropped. Only two seasons and those two seasons are night and day from one another in a lot of ways.
Well, I saw a backstage pic from over ten years ago, where there was Linda Carter, Lindsay Wagner ( the Bionic Woman), and Olivia Newton-John. All still looked beautiful. Wish I had been there..
@@christopherarnott Hey, I think Ardala would be game. Wilma...not sure. It's like Ginger vs. Maryann. Ginger is hot, but Maryann is sweet. You always want to turn the sweet girl into a sex machine.
This was a great effort for sure and showcases the two ladies at their finest in all their glory. To be honest though, this video could have been many hours long and could have shown the many several dozens of femme fatales and ingénues that have gone through Buck Rogers... the show was littered with them
Let's be honest, no straight guy ever watched Buck Rogers for Gil Gerard. It was always about the ladies, and those fantastic outfits. Kind of like Bob Barker in The Price is Right. Sure, he was the star of the show; or was he? Dian and Janice were actually the stars, along with their bikinis, and the rest of the prizes.
At the time this was airing on network TV as a teenage, I was a little sad because this lovely "eye candy" never made it to the 1970's Battle-star Galactica TV series.
I was only 9 or 10, and I did like Buck and his karate moves and charm, but even at that age for me the show was really Erin Gray's Spandex in the 25th Century.
I always felt a lot of compassion for Ardala,a desperately lonely woman, extraordinarily beautiful, yet trapped inside her royal position. Yet right at the end of the first series,Buck told her he liked her, that she showed a pleasant side of her personality. This had quite an effect on her,and I can only hope her life turned out well for her. She was not an evil woman at all,but unable to escape the prison she was living in. Just lonely and unhappy.
I was 9 years old when this series aired. I didn’t realize it in the moment but this is where I began to appreciate the female form. I wasn’t sure what was happening at the time, but when I would see Princess Ardala with that strut of hers I felt a certain way.
My mom used to make fun of the way Princess Ardala walked; the way she swung her hips like she was applying for job as a windshield wiper! Seriously though this video looks absolutely fantastic. I have the complete series DVD set but I had no clue it got a Blu-ray release! I'm going to have to look into that...📀

holy moly - forgot just how hot Erin was - and while she, Erin was always my crush, Pamela was dam hot as well. That whole first season was eye candy all over the place.
Erin's Wilma was spunky but approachable which made her character even sexier as well as a keeper!!! I was 14 when this show was on and never missed an episode.

Anytime that, I am feeling a little sad there is an episode that always brightens my day from season one: episode 13, "Cruise Ship to the Stars" not only does Wilma wear a smoking hot evening glown, a passenger on this ship is the current 25th Century Ms. Universe, plus the evil female is really "two hot' women all in one because she is a transmute and man do, I love them both. The "eye candy" in this episode is truly a sight to behold.

What, I enjoyed when watching the lovely ladies on this show when it aired on network TV each week, were their make-up and outfits. Good or evil, they would always have pretty uniforms, hot pants, dresses, etc. with matching hand bags, nylons, and high heels, pretty boots, or dress shoes.
Kelly you're absolutely spot on what you said. The girls on TV back then all looked beautiful and sexy. They celebrated their femininity and looking glamorous. They wore beautiful outfits that enhanced their natural curvaceousness. Many female stars today and also in real life don't seem to want to make the best of what God gave them, their natural curvy figures and some women want to have muscles and be like men. Ugh! This show kickstarted my puberty!! Why did they ruin it in season 2?? When you look in the dictionary under “LEGS UP TO HERE” there is a picture of Erin Grey!!
Erin Gray had the best pelvic girdle par Lynda Carter. She was ALL woman and came from an era when women were legitimately curvaceous around the hips and bust and nowhere else whilst keeping a slim: neck, midriff and arms and a waist to hip ratio so distinct that it can be seen from space by the naked eye. Today though, they're called "curvy" (which means overweight) and often have a waist that blends straight into the hips (wide waist+narrow hips) and manly jaws and necks. The only thing today's average starlet has over those of yesteryear is a Posterior - it's like they never knew how to train their ass back then but today, women (and men) appreciate the value of a toned, fuller bum...sadly, Erin and Lynda were missing this 😔
I had Ardala and Buck 3 3/4" action figures and moon rover tank. My dad and I both liked Ardala more than Wilma, and I think that's why he picked her action figure with Buck's to give me for Christmas.

Alot of women were slim back in the 1980s. Every now and then you would see them wearing the shiny latex pants or leotards with a ripped t-shirt. Those made a young boy go wow
