robin's 2nd round is dedicated to one of his friends and mentors who passed away before gbb and Brez also dedicates his walkout intro to his Good friend PSQR who passed away and has a sweater you will see soon
What made robins first round so amazing other than the surprise drop was that he recorded all of the first part in the same loop. Just perfectly matching timing and harmonizing with himself without recording new layers it was a 2 min layer and most loopers make several small loops to make the whole piece . Some next level skill
The "rules" were that the track should be at least 3 minutes long. In most events the round limit is 3 minutes. However, during long years of hosting events people started noticing that artists are often short like 10-20 seconds to play the track fully. Hence, this year they gave artists 3min 30 seconds with a note that the track should basically be at least 3 min and the rest 30 sec are free for you to choose. When I say "rule" for at least 3 min is that they won't be punished for finishing early. If the artist goes shorter than 3 min then judges basically include that into their decision. :) As a suggestion I present Alem 's shoutout in the Beatbox Germany channel - watch?v=bIhTU3km87g (video name - 4 min of CRAZY ALEM!) I think, as a drummer, you should like it.
Dice's second round would have been better if it was a bass house drop instead of techno house... I feel like the techno kind of split the atmosphere he built and wasn't really consistent with the theme
I can explain it to you. The professional judgement was that Dice won the second round, but Robin won the first round with the great great margin. For many participants that Robin's first round was the best 3 minutes of the whole three day event, you can see this in views of the videos, this video is the most popular GBB23 vid because of Robin's first round mostly
When singer won a loopstation (dj) competiotion that is not a the voice or music idol. Judge are f*** trolling this. U cant won with one 15 sec drop . Respect to Robbin but we are in loopstation competition, not singing competition.
He didn't just sing. He created whole songs in the span of 3 and a half minutes. Which honestly takes much more talent than just "WUBWUBWUBWUHW WOOOWOOWOOOOO ZUHZUHZUHZUHZUH"
@@LPyxelLike i said and like u said whole new songs. This is dj competition, not music idol. He doing simple beat+melody+sing on top of it for 2 x 3 minutes per round and he had only one drop for 20 seconds. It's beautiful what he doing but for another format. Its the same when Kristoff smash Robbin in SBX and he need only one round for that. There was again people who said Robbin should win which is hilarious and not serious.
@@mihailgeorgiev8635 This isn't a "DJ competition" but I mean to each their own. If you don't like it that's one thing. This is about making music using your mouth. Drops aren't the only thing that get points from the judges. In fact most of the people I've seen said they loved Robin's performances.
@@LPyxel Yes, he sing very good but if u want to watch a loopstation or beatbox battle u will skip to see if there something is changing in his routine bcs its kind of booring to hear same beat and melody without changing for 3 minutes with one punch drop who is actually verry good but not enough to keep ur attention and simp for Robin. His beats are not that good mixed and isolated. Also the repetitive parts are to much. U are forgetting this is battle not the voice or talen show. Almost all of his rounds are preetty similar. Making not that hard beats and melody for 2 minutes(wich is to long) then sing on the top of it to the end. If Adele learn how to do "pufci-ka-ci" on loop and sing with her incredible voice should she win loopstation battle only bcs of it ?

Hard to give that one to Robin Dice both rounds were great his second destroys Robins second
But dice did finish 30 seconds early each round probably counted against him
