So am i
I was as well until a week ago when I got the iphone 12 pro max. kinda done with samsung at this point
In the next version note 10 you will find out that they removed
1-the iris scanner
2- the heart rate monitor
3-the head phone jack
and sadly a lot of qualities
I am korean... samsung is from korea.... when i turn on my s9... the phone told me ‘open ur eyes wider’....... most offensive thing i ever heard from a phone
I never thought that i could get so many likes and comments with this.... But i have ANIME PROFILE PICTURE!!!! You guys should ignore them all you know....
lol that's terrible dude xD
That's kinda sad, I expected DJ Koh got the same treatment
maybe your eyes are *too* wide... even for an asian... ever thought of that?
Lol
Wow
*iPhone User:* That's not possible!
*Samsung:* You have no idea what's possible
"Where's the notch?"
"Only luddites still use a headphone jack!"
Things iBots have actually said.
'The IPhones a whole 3mm smaller! that's why they couldn't a headphone jack, spen or micro sd capabilities, gosh, you can do all that with 3 mm you know."
Android*
lol i still remember how a bunch of my friends who use iphones were bragging about things android users already had for a couple years already. I'm STILL waiting for the day they come to me bragging about being able to split screens and resize window apps and stuff 🤣🤣🤣
Bought my first android after owning almost every iPhone and took the punt on a note 9. It's taking some getting used to but overall the experience is pretty good and it's nice to see almost every review telling me it's as good as an android phone gets. Btw the lack of headphone port was my main reason for leaving as I have £1000s of headphones and earbuds and I don't want to carry around additional dongles just because apple say so. Considering how many people use apple products for audio I'm sure I'm not alone. Great review as always 👍
That's why I bought HTC 10, great audio converter but, I want a new in ear headphone. RHA T20 is the number one on my list. Unless you have a better idea.

Switched to Note 9 (128GB) from S7 Edge and I'm in love. Last Note i had was the 4th one and for two years I always missed my s-pen. This phone is actually as good as everyone says..
Currently using the s7 edge and really considering upgrading, go into as much or as little detail as you want, how much of a difference is it? Never had a note before, how useful is the s pen? Thanks in advance.
@@tannerboy1991 well the main two things are the screen and the battery. S7 is known to have the most fragile screen and cracking it is way easier than any other phone like s8/9 or note8/9. After a month, the battery still holds up as it did when I unboxed it (haven't had the same results with my S7). If ure considering an upgrade, look into s9+ o wait for *S10*. I love the spen as a gimmic more, for me it's useful only when taking sceenshots. The main Note's thing is the screen. It's wider

Now a days there is still a lot of phone with latest version of technology at less than $500 or $600 depends on your budget !
When you go Galaxy NOTE you never go back , I started on the Note 3 , and trust me guys .it's simply impossible to switch. A real powerhouse do-everything-device .

I started on Note 2, then Note 3, then the Note 5, then now the Note 9. I can't buy any other phone without a pen. What make me stick to the Note is the pen!
Note 1 was my first phone.

3.5 years and it died while camping in a puddle in the tent. Rip.
I had S2,4 Honor 5x even tried windows phone (actually liked it) and 2 china cheap crap phones.
Now I came back to the Note 8.
And just hasslefree 95% of the time.
I am thrilled to see what will be out when my dataplan brings me the phone next year.
But this one will not be thrown away.
I agree. Note is a great allround well made phone.
The pen is a gimic i realy missed on other phones.
I often use it for screenshot memos and to let bixby translate or extract text.

S9+ is also hard to resist.. if you don't use the S pen that's where to go.

How to make a phone perfect in 2018: Make the back nearly any material other than glass.
Why? Its less durable but it allows for nfc, wireless charging, etc. But take a look at pocophone f1
Plastic also allows all those features. Polycarbonate is extremely durable, looks nice on a showroom, and yields instead of cracking/shattering.
Personally, I think aluminium is a terrible choice for a phone body, aside from being a good heat conductor. The second you whoops a phone onto a hard surface, it'll transfer a large chunk of that kinetic energy right into the glass, instead of temporarily deforming and rebounding.
With glass, you get something that looks nice on the showroom, terrible after your fingers so much as look at it because no one thinks to put an oleophobic coating on the stuff on the back, and it either looks like it got shot on the first drop, or you put it in a case and negate its sole benefit: aesthetics.
WHY ARENT YOU A PHONE MANUFACTURER!

Rewatched this because Note 10 just got announced. This is maybe the last real good Note to come out. All it was missing was a wide angle lens. Other than that, the phone is near perfect. The 10 tho? Rip jack.
And even that can be overcome by panorama mode, mostly. Watching the videos about the note 10 and the old ones about the note 9, I am looking for places to buy the note 9. For half the price of the new one!
I did exactly that. I bought my Note 9 when I heard the rumours about the lacks in the new one and I believed it was a better option the 9 for half of the price and I couldn't be happier. Best features per price ratio right now!
The CRAP Note 10 bought me here!!!!
I just switched to the Note 9 this week (from an HTC 10). The Note 10's punch-hole display and lack of a headphone jack made it not even a consideration.
No jack killed me ever upgrading to the note 10 although I probably never would've gotten a 10 anyway cuz I just upgraded to a note 9
So mine finally broke, it got smashed pretty good, but now 2,5 years later, there's honestly nothing that satisfies my needs this well anymore, especially since you can find the 512gb model for 300 bucks now. So i just ordered a Note 9 again. The most solid Note ever made to this day!
It's still available new?
I got the ocean blue note 9. After 4 weeks of use, one thing i can say when i compare its FUNCTIONALITY with other phones: it is like comparing a bike with a bulldozer. This phone is not a phone. It is a TOOL. And anyone who dares to disagree with this, is a tool. This phone is the definition of INNOVATION.
Hey there, did you upgrade to OneUI? If yes, do you like it more than Samsung Experience 9.5?
@@ImCeatra hello, note 9 pie user here. I absolutely love oneui, and i actually think not very much has changed, but things still got better somehow. Probably the biggest change was the look. But as i said, very similar to oreo.
nearly 5 years later, and here i am still rocking my Note 9, because i love this damn phone
It's still a great phone! But since there's no longer official support for it anymore I've turned to get using custom roms, hopefully the awesome community can keep support going a little more longer
You wrote this 11mo ago when the phone was about 3.5 years old lol. How did u get that "nearly 5" 😂😂😂😂
I just switch to Samsung Notes9 after 14 years using apple ....Guys ...i love it
apple products are just for people who don't know the possibilities and/or aren't even remotely tech savvy and only have money to spend for a product. Thats why you love it. I know apple products are safer but i'd rather risk safety for cool features and possibilities honestly.
You used apple.......for 14 years!?!!!?!?!
Tell me your secret
How did you survive
Welcome to our army
Switched to Note 9 from iPhone SE.. Oh dear, I promise I will never look back on Apple ever again.
Nice one mate, I have ordered the Note 9 too
I love the Samsung S9+ but the note 9's battery though... damn son!!! ... + you got to give it to Samsung when it comes to NFC and MST technology on their mobile payments platform. There have literally been times were I was in places were businesses specified that there was no tap and the things still works... People are amazed.
Linus if your reading this do a mobile payment comparison. Apple Pay, Android Pay, Samsung Pay...
Facts. Samsung Pay is heavenly

If you have any money left after N9 purchase lol. I suppose that's why credit cards were invented. Bless 'em!
@@meldagreat wait why is Samsung pay so special? I still haven't set it up but I was gonna use Google pay
@@HearMeLearn Samsung Pay uses MTS (which makes it recognizable on any cashiers mobile payment system. Even the old ones.) Google Pay uses Nfc only
👌
If it could just absorb one more android, it would become perfect.
Linus is gonna destroy the iPhone max lol. Saying its 300 more than the note 9 with less display more bezel a notch no jack no fast charging smaller battery no stylus etc
@@girlsdrinkfeck but yeah thats all true
I got mine 3 weeks ago and user experience is crazy good
It's far from perfect, it doesn't even have a removable battery. It's fine for office workers and people near a plug, but if you like go out places and do stuff with your life, not so great. Fast charging isn't much use if you don't have a power supply.
S22 just came out. I still have the Note 9 and I'm keeping it because it's still PERFECT.
4:50 you mean to tell me you’re going to watch a movie sitting like that?😂
I didn't think that i would use the S Pen a lot before i switched to the Galaxy Note 5, but then i never switched back to another phone without stylus. From the ability to quickly put down some note while the screen's off (espescially when i'm programming because i don't want to stand up and go find some paper, and writing with a pen always helps the brain to think better), to precisely edit photo in snapsheet, capture screen and precisely caption on it, to the ability to select text anywhere just like a mouse on a computer, and being able to put the phone on my bed while lay up side down over a pillow using the pen to easily use the phone,...the pen actually gives a productivity boost. And when you don't need it, it takes no space other than a toy pen that you can pull out and enjoying the clicky feeling of the tail.
Question is, how do you improve a phone like that now, minus just bumping the specs next year
Meaningful spec bumps will be the real challenge for next year. There are plenty of design and function improvements you can make.
Sharif Sircar 0 bezels, on screen fingerprint reader, better os
Samsung is really close to a perfect phone
Run iOS on it.

Michael Morgan good one ahah made me laugh
Why can't we have this phone with note 20 ultra design and updated specs I love the size of the note 9
The Note 9 IS perfect. I honestly don't see a single thing that they did wrong with this phone. It literally is the perfect smartphone for EVERY type of user.
not being able to reprogram the bixby button only thing bad
Except for the users that don't have 1000$ for a phone.
do you have fortnite galaxy skin then?
I own one and I'm in love with it. But I'm insecure about the software updates etc
@@harrylaflare846 Bixby what? never heard of it. lol
At a time when everyone is cashing in on the iPhone hype train, Linus the Lone Wolf reviews the Note 9....
what train?
@@Flyinghotpocket Its not a literal train...😂😂
new iphones just released, making a video with iphone in the title = views / clicks / ads === $$$$$

Ah, here in America no one really uses Samsung. Most people here use iPhones because of iCloud and how well everything syncs. I would’ve switched to Samsung by now if it wasn’t for that awful OS.
Sponsoring PUBG on a samsung note 9 video, a phone for which Fortnite was exclusive for a month!! BALLSY
@Anon 1 Who said anything about sponsoring a phone?
Let's hope this becomes another stop sign for phones it will be fun to see this vid 5 years from now and see how more we can improve.
Honestly new features are going to need to be invented to make a real improvement. We can't really improve what it is besides price and aesthetics right now.
@@gabemerritt3139 I think that might be why there's such a push for flexible displays and foldable smartphones right now...doesn't seem to have much practical purpose, but would stand out as an innovative feature for whoever finishes it first
I don't know. it seems like we are coming to a wall when it comes to phones now. how much more faster can they get?
Hopefully they finally focus on battery and don't give us "bigger battery BUT there's a 4K screen and a pancake maker so it comes down to the same battery life time".
@@MrBibi86 well I mean they aren't very far from instantaneous responsiveness in every regard when it comes to daily use. So not very much fastee

I just love to handwrite stuff, draw, squelch.
Also the pen is really useful when you pair it with photos, videos and screenshots. it is an undervalued and underfeatured tool that could be much more used and desirable if Samsung explored it more.

And then he never stopped using it

Note 9 is the best note since note 4. They limited it's life lack of Software upgrades Smh.
Worst part is the crap we had to pick from afterwards. While the phones kept getting more expensive..

One of the most beautiful designs for a phone, both hardware and software ever imo.
Then they screwed it up with the S10 and One UI.
I hate notches and punch holes.
And don't particularly like underscreen fingerprint sensors, the optical ones atleast.
But they killed the active :C i love the active series.
the S9 active is coming out
Active isnt for the note series anyways
Theres not a need for the active series now that the mainline phones have ip68

@@dapper4839 on the contrary, the active line was more about ruggedization than water resistance, but you are right, why get an active when you can just get an otter box now.

Who's here because they know Linus' daily phone is still the Galaxy Note 9?
I am praying for the android updation 😭😭😭😭
Any one else here for the only notchless, hole punchless, and headphone jack option in July 2019. We're in a shit era for smartphones right now. Note 9 seems to be a good option... no wide angle camera though.
True
Just bought mine for the same reason. Hate the notch or these punchholes. And no headphone jack?? I spent $600 to get myself a Note 9
I honestly love my Note 9, so glad I decided to pull the trigger when it was released rather than wait for the 10.
Although the Note 10 does look quite pretty with that massive display and same size form factor, I can't get over the fact on how disconnected reviewers are from reality. Like, when running apps, some apps just make the top bar be completely black due to the lack of optimisation of including the punch hole. I'd prefer equal bezels on both sides rather than a really large one on top and small one on bottom. It really just creates a TV looking screen that is great for viewing content.
Headphone jacks are also very important for me, it's just so convenient, I can't believe the "if you buy a premium phone, you should be able to buy wireless headphones" argument, a premium phone is meant to include it all is it not? Nonetheless, I can understand the transition due to marketing their wireless earphones though it's just not to my taste, at least I have the bose 700s to make up for it.
The wide angle camera isn't that important for me, it's a recent release so I'm fine on missing out on the feature.
The day I'll be upgrading is the day when in screen cameras (with good quality) are released for commercial use
Bixby is the only reason I will not be upgrading. That goddamn button has caused me SO MANY HEADACHES and millions of people were pissed about it as well. Anytime I wanted to turn volume up or down, I would always hit that goddamn button by accident. I can't believe Samsung put it in the Note 9.
Why does no one talk about BxActions? You can remap the Bixby button to do almost anything!
Addison Heavner Did they fix BxActions yet? I got an update that broke it a few weeks ago
@@ohnoitschris I guess the new Bixby update that Linus mentions in the video has broken some things. I have Bixby updates disabled so mine is still working great. Hopefully Samsung re-enables the functionality to disable Bixby so that BxActions can work correctly again.
I would say since it's not a first party solution, reviewers don't want people to do things to their phones and get blamed for it.
@@theboy2385 Actually there's an adb script provided that will totally disable Bixby. It will just instantly perform whatever action you have it set to and won't launch Bixby.
My bxactions still works, tho I also believe I disabled the updates for bixby. However, bxactions never worked 100% of the time in the first place, so I wouldn't know if Bixby somehow updated itself and partially broke bxactions
Still running my Note 9 as my daily driver. Probably won't replace it until the battery stops making it thru the day.

@@MrEmanthedrummer but android is way more popular
Juul Blom regardless of what’s more popular, it’s doesn’t make any sense to say Apple isn’t relevant anymore. They’re one of the most, if the not the most, popular tech brand out there. Saying they’re irrelevant is kind of dumb. No offense of course. They’re relevant because there is a fight. Basically Apple vs every other phone brand, especially Samsung. Theres obviously a reason they’re the first trillion dollar company and there’s a reason people line up for days to buy iPhones over other android phones. And no I’m not an Apple sheep.
