    He is a genius. He isn’t tricked by the health claims of tree nuts like other so called experts are. He said if people had a little warmth and compassion, the world works better. If only the politicians learned something as simple as that, imagine what kind of world we could have.

    AJ...Dr Lisle is the most delicious dish you serve up! He is stardust : ) nothing makes me happier than watching him crack a smile as his brain lights up ... and oh my god...I was just thinking of Pete Duel a few days after Anthony Bourdain took his li8fe. Pete’s smile and dimples and smart repartee were so sparkly!

    • @TheAngelchia
      @TheAngelchia 6 лет назад +1

      Pete Duel was my very first 'crush'. I am British but I used to record every single episode of Alias Smith & Jones onto an old reel-to-reel tape recorder and play them back constantly (I can still recite the opening narration to each episode perfectly, lol!) I was about 11 when he died and the shock was palatable. It took me months to come to terms with it, and to be honest, it still saddens me deeply whenever I think about it.

    This has got to be the most beautiful talk I have ever heard. I will listen to this often. Thank you for helping me to have a clearer, more accurate, perspective. What I would give to be able to sync Dr. Lisle's knowledge into my brain. (...plus the knowledge of some others, including Victor Frankl). Love and peace of mind to you Chef AJ and Dr. Lisle

    Dr. Lisle was revealing in this interview. He doesn't disguise his own self, even sharing moments of frustration and pain. Each time there's a surprise-ending and unsurprisingly more self-awareness. How are you so relateable while also keeping all this knowledge, wisdom and unique insight at your fingertips? Thank you California highway patrol.

    Dear, lovely, darling, sensitive, compassionate, thoughtful, deeply-feeling and loving Chef AJ. I hand out compliments left & right, so much so that I usually tend to assume that some people (probably even MOST people!) don't believe my words, don't believe that my words do not have some "ulterior motives", i.e., some OTHER, perhaps self-serving reason(s) behind them, other than simply my desire to communicate what I see, and love, in someone's behavior and/or character, and to COMMUNICATE my APPRECIATION for that behavior and/or character. But my assumption about people's reactions to my words NEVER seems to stop me from saying what I feel, because, well, I'm just the type of human being who feels DEEPLY, ALWAYS, pretty much about EVERYTHING, especially in the realm of life on this planet; I'm intuitive and compassionate and empathetic WELL beyond what I see in most people on a regular, day-to-day basis (and I'm NOT boasting by saying that about myself, just stating what I know about myself after living for going on 69 years). This is only my second time communicating my feelings & thoughts about you and your work, and I'm CERTAIN it won't be the last because, as I said, "that's just the type of human being" I am: When I FEEL something, good OR bad, positive OR negative, I gotta express it. I've been that way for most of my life and at this age, I CERTAINLY have no need, desire nor intention of changing it, primarily because I believe it's a GOOD thing, as long as it's SINCERE and PURE and devoid of "ulterior motives". ALL THAT SAID....I just need, once again, to tell you how much your passion & commitment to contribute as you do to people's lives MEANS to me in MY life, and I am CERTAIN others feel the same, whether or not they choose to EXPRESS that to you. So thank you for all that, and, along with everything else you do which I am sure we "don't know the half of", for making Dr. Lyle's words available to us. I feel the same about him and his work as I do about you and yours. Yes, I know I go on TOO LONG, SAY WAAAAAY TOO MUCH, but in my opinion, I'd rather be TOO intense than to WITHHOLD, as so many people in the world do. To my knowledge anyway, we only go round ONCE in this life, and in my way of thinking, THAT makes it IMPERATIVE & important to express EVERYTHING WE FEEL, to the best of our abilities, NOW, while we have the chance, because who knows what tomorrow will bring. You are loved, by me and by so many others, because, even though none of us is perfect, including you, your "spirit" is so pure, with so many good & positive intentions, I just want you to know how glad I am that you are doing all this. As much as I try, I can't begin to tell you how much you help, and in so many ways. And I feel that way about Dr. Lyle too, so please, next time you talk to him, tell him to read this comment to you for HIMSELF, and TAKE MY COMMENT TO HEART within himself! (Yeah, ESPECIALLY so that I don't have to write all this a SECOND time, to HIM!........Love, Daryl Grant Lindsay

      Oh, wow! THANKS "straightedge veganbel"! I appreciate your note VERY MUCH! Yeah, we guys are so often taught from the get-go to "hold it in", "be strong", "don't cry", don't show how you REALLY feel, especially regarding the "softer", more "gentle" emotions. (ANGER is "OK" . . . that's "allowed", ESPECIALLY for guys, historically anyway, and unfortunately, since there is so much more to life than just anger). However, I learned unusually early that that's a BIG load of BULL!! I believe ALL men feel JUST AS MUCH as women, and just as deeply. Sometimes even more. And if more of us would let it out, give ourselves permission to, as you said, "articulate [our] feelings", well, there'd probably be a whole lot less war and bickering & fighting. It's an art, really, to delve into ourselves and figure out WHAT we feel and WHY we feel it, and then to be able to put that all into words, in communication with another person. Even to just express love to each other, even total strangers, is something so many people withhold due to fears of one kind or another. And for most of us men, showing (and verbalizing!) love & appreciation for others is often the most difficult. I've been working at it for a VERY long time, so I'm lucky in a way. Many guys never even get started, and they pay a price for it. But be patient with the men in your life, or with ANYBODY, really, who has difficulty expressing emotions. With some of us, you just have to sort of TRUST that it's in there, buried and WANTING to come out, but there's a lot of FEAR that keeps it plugged up. Sometimes ya just have to patiently and gently "dig" a bit, but never too fast and NEVER too much. Anyway, I'm glad my words resonated with you in some ways and made you smile. And I sincerely thank you, again, for your lovely comment and compliments. They made my day!! I hope my words gave a bit of a warm feeling to Chef AJ (and Dr. Lyle too!)...And I wish you luck and success in this journey toward "total health & joy" we're all working toward! Keep in touch! Love, Daryl

    OMG-I had the EXACT same thing happen to me-I was changing into the left hand lane and didn’t see the car that was in that lane. He honked at me, so I yanked the wheel to the right and did a 180 into oncoming traffic-the car stalling at a halt! I was SO LUCKY to not have hit anyone! I restarted and turned the car around, my whole body was shaking all the way home! 😬

    I don’t find myself judging others so much as I find myself fighting everyday for my health and I want to just shake people and say “wake up and stop killing yourselves with food.” Even knowing that I probably would have never found this path if my health wasn’t so bad. My family did not want to eat the same as me.. I finally had to talk with them and tell them that they could continue to make their choice about food, but because I love them and I feel that I was hurting them to make that food for them, that I would no longer cook it for them. Luckily I’m the mom and do 95% of the cooking. my family is starting to shift. We have to remember that everyone is on their own path.
