Unfortunately, any laoff in SPEEA is by seniority, so it never got rid of dead woods. These are also the most critical positions to supprt production efficiency and future airplane; 777X.
These layoffs are going to compensate for the races. Everybody just got so good on the people that got raises, you’re about to start working a lot harder now
Seriously, union greed is all it is. No one else in the nation gets to not work and demand these type of increases from their job and expect to still be employed when they come back.
Hourly union is still bringing in the employees that were scheduled to hire in before the Strike. There will be a lay off in the the IAM union too. Probably by January.
@np4057 They haven't gave any lay off notices in that union yet. And when they do it's all based on years of union seniority. Only the junior employees get notices.
My view on this.... Y'all went on strike to make more money and what not. That, in turn, just cost 2200 of your workmates their jobs, so you can have more money and what not. How does that make you feel? I hope it makes you feel horrible! This is so wrong!!!!!!!!
@dannschmit8604 There has Always been layoffs at Boeing for Decades. This is nothing new and has nothing to do with the Hourly Union Strike,if anything the strike probably prolonged this Layoff by a month or 2. Everyone gets a good pay raise across the hourly pay scale from the Strike. Junior employees that get laid off can return in the future to a much better wage too. This is just Boeing business as usual.
@Plutogalaxy In the hourly, IAM Union that cannot happen. It's all by levels of progression for pay. So it's equal and If someone is to be let go it's because they are junior in seniority.
CEO makes 33.5 million a year.
The right CEO can be the difference in a billion dollar swing. A union worker not so much.
@@vihtoripuurola3775The last 3 were crap. I worked there. Retired now.
And doing nothing!
@@vihtoripuurola3775 Except this one is not the right CEO.
@Discovery123. no, he's outsourcing part making to other countries and assembling them here.
Going to be thousands and thousands of people 😢, you got the raise right out of a good job 👍
It’s just starting now
why act like a surprise? They already announced the layoff couple months ago.
My late wife was working in social services when the big layoff happened at Boeing following the supersonic debacle in the late 1960s.
Only 2,200? That's not going to reduce traffic.

New contract for the Union and somebody has to pay for it
If it's a Boeing, i aren't going.
Time to move head querters back to.WA..and stop all BS...
Never gonna happen

Union is the problem. Not the workers, but those in management level.
How is the union the problem? just curious
Go to your room, or trunk of your car, and think about what you did...
Used to work for them, was always about $ now it's coming round for the poor workers.

Of course they did...
They mass hire before the contract and then let them go, nothin new. At least the new hires will receive 12k on there way out.
Strike again DA

The union is not the problem at Boeing.
So you don't think they had valid complaints? When is it ok to strike then? Fascist!

How many CEOs in upper management got laid off? Or took pay cuts for their poor decision-making?
The union fucked around and found out, 10% of them at least.
or you know, Boeing lost 8 billion dollars and workers are always the first to go
Boeing be like : who will go who
Problem with Boeing, nobody speaks English anymore.
