Thank you man , I've dreamed about playing this game for a few years and I finally built my gaming PC and downloaded it today... Needless to say I had no idea where TF to start 😭 thank you for a brief rundown !
Currently have 20 hours on the game and the first server ive joined was hell... after i made my base these 4 dudes just wouldnt let me play at all soo i gave up on that server and now im playing on around a 50player server and it still feels like to many people😂
The hardest part is starting in a mid wipe server since everyone will gun you down just have to get down a bag and a base as fast as you can I recommend somewhere near a safe zone but not in the middle of a bunch of bases
Same. I was in love with the old engine and original rust and am kinda sad that that map is so small now and so condensend with no thick forests or open areas. Everything is so cluttered.
Personally, I'd recommend starting off with high player count on a Official server - the harder the better. You got to learn it the hard way so you actually gain knowledge & see how and what.

PVE server to learn, super fun!
as Grawlixify said, PVE server is a good idea to get the basics. It can be rough out there!

its very brutal not playing a game for the 10 year lifespan, trying to get into it and knowing ALL the aspects involved with it.

There is little to no value in dying to kitted out clans when you have nothing but a wooden spear l.

It's been getting a lot of smaller updates and content being added regularly

Yup similar. The have 7 days to Die though has building almost the same as Minecraft.
It's nothing like Minecraft. That's like saying it's like PACMAN because it uses pixels.
