  • Here, we make a wider cape, using the same pattern for Super Powers Batman. What you'll need for this is a cape cut from leather print vinyl, using "Toypolloi's" Super Powers Batman pattern. 1.3 inches of copper wire, and hot glue.
With the wire just below or on the line that goes through Poloi's pattern, I fold left, and hold it, fold right on the other side, hold it. Then glue down each side with hot glue.
The collar will need to be bent/molded around the figure's neck.
Helpful hints: IF you get into a spot with too much glue, and need to clean up the area, then empty your glue gun. make sure it's empty. Wipe it off. Then use it so heat up excess glue. Heat guns work too. But, you must be very careful not to melt the vinyl, or fabric. Make sure the heat gun's barrel is mounted several inches above the table Don't let it get hot enough to burn your fingers. Just enough for the glue.
After the cape has been hot for a few seconds, you can squeeze, and wipe off excess glue. Repeat if needed. If you see glue on your cape after making it, either heat and clean, like explained above.
OR carefully scratch off the glue. If it's dry, and hard, it will often peel off. Scratch up a good area of it, And you might be able to peel it all off. I've done it. I've made A LOT of vinyl capes. So don't rush, or worry. It might take a a min to really get it clean. But don't get frustrated. It's part of the process, more often than not. You didn't do anything wrong. I call cleaning up excess glue "detailing".
