    Seems like there was always a boss in a Metroid game that made you go, "Oh crap. I have to fight THAT?"

      Yes! In the light world, the arena is technically empty, but I believe the head and two legs are within the room as disassembled props. It's the foreshadowing of the boss fight.

    The most titanic boss in the Prime Games. This music felt powerful along with this thunderous mech's heavy steps. You felt every slam of his leg every time he quickly stomped the ground step by step...
    Not to mention the very slight tension added from slowly losing health meant you had to learn how to get health back by busting his knee caps.
    I won't say he's the greatest boss ever designed, but he IS menacing AND fearful to the first time player.
    Love these games. ^^

      Exactly how I felt!

    • @samy29987
      @samy29987 10 лет назад +2

      Totally agree, but the tiny little thing that destroyed this boss fight for me was the amount of HELP the AI gave you through the ENORMOUS amount of energy they gave you after bursting each knee cap.
      I mean, this boss is already titanic. Now make the hardest boss ever to NOT give so much energy at will. That would of been EPIC imo.

    • @theswitchback2760
      @theswitchback2760 10 лет назад +1

      samy29987 Completely agree. I wish there was a "Galactic Warlord" Difficulty that gave NO energy from anything accept for save stations. THAT... would have been truly awesome. ^^

    I definitely love the fact that you're constantly using your various abilities in the fight, but what sells it for me is one key gimmick:
    Attrition
    Just the notion of having an implied time limit (that being your constantly draining health) puts on the pressure so much, and in the right way too. It's heavily based on how well you can put two-and-two together through scan data, and understanding when to strike while reading its attack pattern.

    • @ExtremeAce
      @ExtremeAce 2 года назад +7

      @@garretheath3891 Nahhh they aren't really hard, 2-3 charged wave beam shots take out the wave troopers, one Super Missile takes out the Power Troopers, one charged Ice Beam followed by a missile destroys the Ice Troopers, and for plasma troopers, well plasma beam just melts everything. Echoes had way more engaging and tougher fights, especially boss fights. Omega Pirate and Metroid Prime are the hardest fights in Prime, whereas half of the bosses in Echoes are harder than any fight in Prime or Corruption, namely Emperor Ing, Boost/Spider Guardian and Alpha Blogg.

      Boost guardian, yes, but the spider guardian wasnt as hard as people make it out to be. (he seems to be the 'Water Temple' of the Metroid series) I thoroughly enjoyed his fight. I know he got nerfed in the Trilogy version with the addition of the jump ball, but even when I only use the morph bombs to jump, he's still not anywhere as close to the boost guardian.

    Easily my favorite boss battle in the entire metroid series. The atmosphere, music, size of the boss, and the stages of the fight made it near perfect! This fight was more than just jumping around and blasting, the player had to utilize almost every ability in the game to beat quadraxis, which made this battle also of the mind since you had to think while ur health is draining. Fantastic fight! Only thing is that quadraxis could have done more damage then it would be PERFECT.

    If I had to pick a boss other than Meta Ridley from the original Prime for my favorite boss in the Prime trilogy, Quadraxis would be that boss. This boss is just amazing. It's creative, and is fairly challenging. The music is also really awesome.

    Logbook entry: The Quadraxis unit went rogue and entered the service of the Ing. Its primary weapon system fires destructive matter-antimatter blasts. It uses a powerful Missile battery for long-distance attacks. The Quadraxis is incredibly durable and well-armored, but its leg and foot joints are vulnerable. Damaging these joints will eventually render it immobile.

      They aren't non-canon, this was a misunderstanding from a translation of Sakamoto's interview. What he actually said is that he personally didn't think they were relevant to the Other M story and that Samus was "different, tougher." The games are considered canon and have a place in the timeline.

      He does, but that may be for people who try to do runs with no energy tanks. Since there is no safe spots in the fight, he needs to drop large amounts of health to give those players a chance.
