Been many years since I was fishing in Scotland. How I miss it. Fishing in Australia just not the same. Next time I visit home I’m definitely going on a fishing weekend at the very least. Thankful of these great videos. Thanks mikey
Cracking session pikey Mikey just a quick tip what I’ve found can be common while pike fishing is try to let the pike feel less resistance when it takes the bait, I’ve had quite a few spit it when they felt pressure
Absolutely loved watching your videos of loch awe! Better than a movie. I’ve only tried Torran bay and dalavich. Never had much luck unfortunately. Going to look for a better spot next time.
That is a gorgeous spot for fishing, only ever fished the one spot at loch awe which isnt this one. Might be on the card to try find this place for a weekender
@@mjbooth1000 i dont mind the slog when i go myself or with the girlfriend, its when i take the auld da up, we fish at school bay if you know the area, easy access for his auld legs, looks like the area pulls out some nice sizes
Understand.... no good for someone that’s elderly... not heard of school bay but will check it out thanks for the recommendation! Yes the bay is full of jacks in the summer but got an 18lbs our last year in the late spring!! Lost some good sized fish too!!!!! Gutted mate gutted but always next time lol
Hi mike just started watching your channel first up great videos funny and real life which I appreciate the most I fish loch awe aswell school bay torran bay and picnic benches haven’t tried pike bay yet but they say it’s good but your little spot looks ace would I be as close to say the bay your in begins with a B??all the very best take care🏴🏴🏴
Awwwww what a lovely comment James thats really made our day! And indeed yes it begins with B lol watch out for the long grass as on each occasion we have ended up with tics!!!! Happy camping!!!!
Hi could you recommend anywhere to stop and camp and fish my wife and I are travelling up the end of August like you I’m going for my 50 th I’m familiar with the area having first fished there in 1984 we stayed at Portsonachan my wife is wild camping mad so if you recommend any nice secluded bays cheers hope you canhelp
Hi Ged, nice to hear from you! On the opposite side of Dalavich there are quiet a few lovely bays, some are easy to reach with easy car parking... The bay I was at for my 50th is also located here however it’s not an easy place to reach without a boat.... as you need to walk over a marshland and dense woodland to get there! Be cautions of the long grass as each occasion both of us had ticks.... I hope you have a GREAT holiday!!!! Happy to help further if needed.. Tight lines Best wishes Mike
Pikey Mikey cheers pal I intend to go there a lot this Autumn . You never know I may bump into you . Where going to stop down at ford at Torran bay . Heading up on the 28 Aogust . Counting down the days . Going to have a go on Loch Ken as well later in the year . Tight lines. Enjoyed your videos that’s what’s made my mind up to go
Always fished the Lomond ( because i live close ) My question to you MIKEY, Do you only fish Lamprey ? Heard others who will only fish TROUT, because TROUT are in the loch. Be good to hear from anybody who fishes LOCH AWE and what they use for PIKE . AS a good Scottish PIKE Fisherman i have my own ideas. Good videos, thank you.
Hi mate, i have heard that too about sea bait however I always seem to do well using Mackerel (joey) I would love to give trout a try and accept that pike would probably be more attracted to them being naturally present in the Loch.. I will make a point of doing an experiment next time to see the difference! Tight lines matey and keep safe.. best wishes Mike and Cris
@@mjbooth1000 there is some real monsters in loch awe, i don't doubt him either! was'nt there a brown trout record held on awe aswel, a wild fish in the mid 30lb mark? not one of these pellet fed rainbows from a fishery

Had a couple in and lost some heavy feeling fish..... lots of jacks though!! Tight lines matey
JUST saw a mackerel tail MIKEY. SO many people are saying ( SEA baits won't work on loch awe )
