I heard the Broadway recording of Sweeney Todd 36 years ago by chance on a college radio station on Halloween. I never liked musicals before but it blow me away and I became a Sondheim fanatic. Unfortunately there is no one else in his class. I got to see a revival of it at NYC's Lincoln Center in the late 1980's.
