I saw my Daffodils poking up from the soil - this has been happening for the last few years now. They are pretty hearty so I’m not doing anything. Now if it was Tulips I would perhaps have to cover with mulch as well. Your plant pots are so colorful and nice to look at when nothing else is going on in the garden. Happy New Year Jeanette. I’m happy to have you as my RUclips friend. 👩🏾🌾👍🏾😍
Hi there Renee, to be honest I cannot remember what I’ve planted where now, so they could be tulips or daffodils 🤣🤣 hope you’re having a lovely holiday. Happy New Year and we must definitely do our collaboration in 2022, my fault entirely so far. Love having you as my YT friend too 🎉🎉🎉
Your garden still looks beautiful, the anazon pots look pretty just with dirt but I'm sure in a few months they will be loaded up with beautiful flowers. Lottie is too sweet.😊
Hey Janette!! Gorgeous Siberica bulbs! I can't wait to see these bloom! Gosh I love love that workstation you and Richard (The Man) has built! It looks so sleek and neat.😍
Aw thanks AJ, I just watched your tour of your granny’s sweet garden. You looked so chilled sitting on her swing bench. And she has some lovely plants, sad about her tangerine tree though. Happy New Year to you 🎉🎉🎉
i don't think you need to worry about the crocus. Our tulips and daffodils come up when there's still snow on the ground and will adjust themselves. Happy New Year! Bonny zone 5 Ontario.
I can’t plant tulips or crocus because the deer here in the North US eat them all! They won’t bother daffodils, so I’ve planted lots of those. Happy Holidays!
Hello there, those deer!!! 🦌 I see from other videos in the US what a problem they are for you all!! I can’t imagine what it must be like having those huge animals in your garden, my dogs would not like that, that’s for sure. Wishing you a very Happy New Year 🎉🎉🎉
Happy New Year to you and Richard and those two balls of white fluff. I am banking on my bulbs knowing what they are doing but as a precaution I planted a few spare pots and can plug the gaps if needed and scattered some mulch around too. Just in case they are not sure! Managed to get my perennial bed all planted up before Christmas. Now I'm nervously awaiting all my new arrivals and hope my tulips will say hello this year.
That’s an excellent idea Penny! Thank you so much for all our wonderful chats this past year. And also for “you know what” 😉 Happy New Year to you my dear friend 🎉🎉🎉

Your colourful pots are going to be so pretty and I love crocus 💕 I cannot believe how much rain we’re having, every time I go into my garden I’m definitely singing in the rain ☔️ Glad you both had a wonderful Christmas 🎄 just waiting for New Year hip hip hooray 🤗
Hi Janette Thanks for taking the time to vlog. You are so funny😂I've just been outside potting up some calocephalus plants which have a beautiful silver foliage. See how they turn out next year. Still enjoying the gorgeous Christmas food. Oh what's a diet!! A very HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND RICHARD AND THE DOGS🎄💞🎄
Hello Sharon and thank you for always watching. I have not stopped eating either 🤣 but oh well, that’s what January is for I guess 🤣 at least we can cover up in coats and jumpers for a couple of months 🤣 Happy New Year to you 🎉🎉🎉
Hi there Jeanette and Happy New Year 🎉🎉 quite a few people have said not to worry, they’ll be fine, so it’s in the hands of nature I guess 😊 I have covered mine all over with an extra bit of compost anyway so fingers crossed 🤞 all will be fine. Hope you’re ok 😍
Hi Janette. Your geraniums looked as though they would get through this winter, mine are the same!! I never think to get crocus, need to go and get some!!! Your Christmas day sounds perfect!! 😉 Happy New Year to you and Richard xx
Hi Debbie. Yes I think they probably would have gone through the winter 🤣 I’ve never had crocus either so will be nice to see them. I’m hoping you are feeling better by now? Happy New Year 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you , for sharing this trips , my daffodils are coming up and we haven’t had any snow yet , and I was wondering what to do with them so they won’t get damaged by the snow . I hope I can save them , we have a long time to go for winter . Happy new year !!
Hi Maximo, well I have had mixed reactions, some people saying no need to cover, they’ll be fine. But I’m still going to do it, I have a big bag of soil and like you say, we have a few months to go yet, so I’m doing it 👍 better safe than sorry. Hope you’re well and had a good Christmas. Happy New Year 🎉🎉🎉
@@TheEnthusiasticGardener I will cover mine , some Dutch iris are coming up too , I’ll be affraid to loose them all 😔. And by way always enjoy your videos 😊
Singing in the rain again I see. Those bulbs were a real bargain! Did Richard know you had been in his workshop? ( or did he only see it when the video came out). Happy New Year Janette. I doubt I'll have a video this week. My house has been full of family and when we do get a couple of hours we head out to the garden to continue to take down the cypress hedge!

So no, he doesn’t know, but he would only mind if I left it in a mess, he has OCD in his workshop 🤣 so glad you’re having a lovely time with the family. Same here, I never thought about them needing the cold for a certain amount of time to even bloom. I'm also worried about how long into spring winter may last, if winter ever gets here.
