- Šibenik is a historic town in central Dalmatia, Croatia. It is the oldest native Croatian town on the Adriatic coast. In the beginning, was created as ancient Croatian city - fort near the fortress of St. Michael, which still dominates the old town.
It is located in a protected natural harbor, where the Krka river flows into the Adriatic sea. Today Šibenik with 48 000 inhabitants is the capital and cultural, administrative and tourist center of the Šibenik-Knin county.
The biggest attraction is certainly the cathedral of St. James, built over a hundred years and was completed in the mid-16th century. Because of its uniqueness and the fact that it is built entirely of stone was placed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.
After a long tour of the city and its old stone streets, you can relax in the newly opened city beach Banj that offers a unique view of the old town and offering numerous facilities ideal for children and lovers of various sports activities.
Welcome to Šibenik!
