Your tutorials are great!. I do wish you would talk more about what each step is actually doing. It would be really helpful for gaining a deeper understanding of the program. I have been learning a lot from these.
something im wondering about is how your text is so clear and high resolution compared to mine. im not sure if it has to do with the fact that im running the non-commercial version of touch designer that limits your output resolution?
Thanks for your great tutorial! If I have different sentences want to show (not only "we are spinning", which steps should I modify or add? It would be helpful if you can answer this question. Thank you very much!
Thank you for the great tutorial! There is a problem at about 3:13. Several TouchDesigner version do not have plane, and geo1 give a torus or donut without in and out for rectangle and render. Any hint?
I had the same issue! I was able to workaround by just adding another geo from the null itself so it inserts already connected, and then you can just delete the geo1
Late reply here but might be useful to people who see this later: It depends on how you create the geo. If you, like in the video, first create a rectangle SOP (or any other sop), then right-click the output on the sop, and then select Geo, you get a version of the Geo which has that input. If you create the Geo by just pressing tab (or double-clicking), you need to go into the Geo, remove the default Torus SOP and replace it with an "In SOP". Don't forget to press the "render" and "display" buttons on the In SOP in the Geo.
Thanks for the tutorial. I'm trying to recreate the moving tunnel effect, but i choose tz in translate z it creates the tunnel which is static, it doesn't move, forward or backward, nowhere) Bug maybe?
@@elekktronaut thanks. At least I'm not the only one, checked everything many times thinking I was missing something somewhere although the setup is pretty simple...
@@sonomute I tried to check and the problem come from the range value in the math. Instead of -100 to 10 in To Range, I've put something between 0 and -5 and it worked fine.
Good day, I've great appreciation for your work. I was wondering if this can be achieved with say 30 second video clips, instead of text base off this tutorial ?
Hi I have followed, however, my after adding rectangle to set up geo . the geo will not allow me to attach rear of geo.( closed field) what small step am I missing?
Thanks for the tutorial! I am watching some TD tutorials out there, and I have a question: why do people always attach to the end of Sphere SOP (and other SOPs and TOPs) a Transform SOP/TOP? Even if they don't use them after attaching them. Sometimes, I've also seen this but using Level TOP, people add it at the end but some times never use them. Is there any reason? Thanks again for all of your videos. Really useful!
You're welcome! It's just so you have more control. It's not necessary but it ensures that you can easily change the size, position etc. (or brightness, contrast etc) later.
Hi, thanks for such an amazing tutorial. In the text TOP I don't know why but it only shows the first letter I'm writing, for example D of Derivative, do you know why this happens?
Hi! It’s awesome tutorial, thanks!! Can I introduce this tutorial in Japanese on my channel? I wanna share to Japanese TD user like me who are not good at English or programming !

Hello! I’ve been watching your tutorials lately and I find them very useful. Could you look into Delaunay triangulation and maybe make a tutorial ? Thanks
these are the best touchdesigner tutorials on the internet, great work.

Sure, just change the input from text to Movie File In. Or am I getting your question wrong?

You need create the geo from the rectangle by right clicking on the rectangle's output and then selecting it.

@@elekktronaut I wasn't expecting such a quick answer! What a great channel, thank you very much, man. Let's go for kinetic typography tutorial now!
I can't connect the SOP's null to the geometry, any ideas on why?
You need to create the null first and then create the geo from the null. Does that help?
