The year is 3076. Earth’s temperature has reached the low 120s. Human life has ceased to exist as we know it. And Luke Kunin is re-upping for $3M AAV

This is why I really respect this channel as one of the elite (if not THE elite) Sharks coverage: you don't sugarcoat or play the protect-the-image-of-management game like some do -- you call a spade a spade. Kunin has been putrid the last two seasons and it was an egregious move to acquire him in the first place (let alone pay a 3rd rounder to do it) and equally egregious to bring him back after 2 terrible seasons.

Hahaha, I tried to keep it more civil this time, feel like I roasted him enough in previous videos

    Hey Professor,
Yeah, I am not a big Kunin fan either. I will give him one thing and that is he was recovering from a fairly serious leg injury from the previous year. I know when I had my "minor" knee surgery when I was 16 it did take me a while before I had confidence that my knee would be alright and this seems to be a common thread with players returning from knee injuries. Perhaps...Kunin was trying to find his confidence in that leg after missing most of the previous season after surgery? That is the only hope I have that perhaps he can do better.
In general I think with the influx of better players for this next season it is reasonable to hope that most of the Sharks players will be slotted into more appropriate roles that suit them.

There has to be a reason the office likes him so much. They aren’t dummies. Not throwing shade on this review, just sayin, there has to be some secret sauce we aren’t privy to

The reasoning seems to be entirely based on his off ice contributions. Things in the locker room and such that we have no way of really knowing. On the ice though, outside of his “go get em” attitude, there isn’t anything really.

I think if I were a GM hiring a coach, trying to figure out whether the coach would play 2023-24 Luke Kunin or 2023-24 Thomas Bordelau would be one of those tests to find out if my coach is a good one.
That is not to say Bordelau is some amazing player, but Bordelau is a better hockey player and if a coach cannot see that it should be disqualifying.

Good job Professor, you are able to drop the type of truth bombs that got Drew Remenda fired so long ago, LOL...

Not a fan of Kunin but nonetheless, exciting future for us Sharks fans.

I agree Kunin's been abysmal on the ice. But I like his signing because even with the team starting to emerge from the rebuild, it's gonna suck. Doesn't matter if he's resigned now, because his off-ice energy will rub off on the young talent that CAN bring it on-ice. Bad player, good signing.

I think Kunin is a guy that coaches like to have around at practices. He must bring a certain level of intensity to drills and help with the vibe of the team in the locker room.
In terms of measuring on-ice performance, he stinks. His numbers are terrible. Ignoring the numbers and going off the eye test, he’s also unimpressive.
I really think he sticks around because of stuff he does behind the scenes. He’s just not very good at hockey, unfortunately.
