  • This is the second in the series of the “Kat Meets” videos, and one I’ve been trying to get around to for some time. It turned out perfectly that I ended up making Natalie (my old Capri shell) the first episode but this is far more in tune with my normal format and way of doing them.
    So this is Kat meets the Beast, a Reliant Scimitar with a Vauxhall Omega MV6 engine in, with a few minor tweaks this thing is now pushing over 260hp! It really I a beast! So I made my way to Bristol to meet Laurence and his awesome creation!
    In this video we talk all things “The Beast”, what Laurence started with and how he has ended up with what can only be described as the perfect balance of classic car track car, fun and reliability!
    Please go check out my other video linked at the end, where I meet Pete and his Essex V6, race prepped Ford Capri, and make sure to hit that subscribe button so you don’t mis out on the future episodes of “Kat Meets”
    If you want to get ore invalided and potentially meet up with an episode about your project then pease do drop em an email to the_capri_vlog@outlook.com drop me a message with your general location (and how far you would be willing to travel to meet) what car you have with a few ics and a bit of background would be amazing!!
    Anyway, on to the thank yous :
    Thanks to Streambeats as always for supporting little guys with some awesome royalty free music for us to use on videos!
    Thanks so much to Laurence from LOZ L RUclips Chanel for meeting, and showing me around his awesome machine!
    / @lozl
    And last but by no means least thanks so much to your guys for sticking around and reading this far and watching this video! I really appreciate any feedback so please do drop me a message, on my email,

      It’s a cool looking car for sure and Loz has done such a great job over the years sorting this one out!
      Looking forward to meeting more classic folks out there to film more!

      He really is! 😎 he’s done so much cool stuff and most of not all has been through his own knowledge, and ability! Very impressive!
      There will be an updated video coming to my channel soon! Not happy with this video, audio was terrible! 😂
      Also got an episode on his landrover coming soon! 😎👍

    Very interesting watch. I happen to be the current owner of the first known Omega GM V6 converted Scimitar built back in 2009 for the PPC magazines £999 challenge (not by me). It is in a bit of a sorry state but this has spurred me in to bring it back to life.

      Wow! That’s awesome! I’d love to see that one up and running, keep us posted!
      Thanks, it was one of my first Kat Meets so a few “technical issues” (me not thinking about the wind) was very frustrating😂 but loz is my brother, so I am thinking of revisiting this one! 😂👍

      I did the 08 and 09 PPC challenge don't remember a GTE though at 08 there was an SS1.....maybe it was the rerun of the 09 one, didn't attend.

      Hi its the cars owner here. I actually got the hubs re drilled to accept a ford 108mm PCD, this gave me a huge choice of wheels. I do have spacers on the front but they're just simple flat spacers and I fitted longer wheel studs.

    Great work & video, I like the rear lights and how the bumper has been reduced and smoothed. Where can I buy lights like that?

    Fantastic job on a great car! Brilliant home engineering!
    I really like the alternative front and rear bumpers, styling wise. Subtle mods but look very nice.
    What was done with the rear bumper? Was it a homemade fibreglass job or a drastic cut down of the original?

    • @dizzy_cap_car_show
      @dizzy_cap_car_show  2 года назад

      Nice one bud! Thanks! It’s a hell of a machine! The rear bumper was a fibreglass homemade job! Think he used the top mounts of the original and just made up the fibreglass shape from there!
      A very cool and impressive car for sure! Was hoping to have him on the channel more by now, but hopefully soon! 😎👍

    Is that the same engine as the Holden V6 which was fitted in the Australian Holden Commodores? These were based on the American Buick V6, I believe. Cheap as chips down under. They use them in Sport Sedans as well. Precursor to the LS V8 motor. Interesting combo.

    • @lozl
      @lozl Год назад

      Hi, I'm the cars owner. I've had a quick google and I don't recognise the holden V6 engine, I think it might be a different motor you're talking about. This is a bit strange cos they like to save money and use the same engine where possible. It looks liekthe commodore V6 is larger at 3.6L mine only a 3L and it has a timing chain where mine has a belt.

      @@lozl Hi, yes I’m not much of an expert in Holdens as I’ve always been into Fords (particularly Capris) but most of my mates back in Australia had Commodores and swore by the Holden V6 which was definitely in the 3.8 version in Australia. GM was as bad as Ford for recycling engines into anything that would take them. There were Chev engines in Holden Commodores shipped to the UK in the mid 2000s onwards now worth a fortune back in Oz but no doubt have ended up as scrap here due to MOT failures. They were thirsty from memory and weren’t that clean burners, but kept going even with the rubbish fuel in certain parts of Australia.
      Link is a prime example of what Aussies get upto with these engines.
