Lots of ways to skin that cat! My motto is to get out of the bark with my blade as soon as I can . I can eyeball my cant to know if it’s square or not after all these years- it becomes instinctual. Great video! Thanks for posting, I appreciate all you’re teaching your audience! Blessings, Jeff
Thanks, and yes! Too often, folks get hung up thinking things have to be run a certain way when maybe not 😉 and I enjoy trying to show the options and why I do things in hopes it helps others. And I agree on seeing if a CANT is square. Do it enough and it just becomes normal 😉
The other day I was doing my usual 180° rotation. I did think of another possible advantage of rotating 90°. Except now I don’t remember what it was. Maybe it will come back to me.
That is a good point as well. I rotate 90 degrees about 99% of the time and the only time I do 180 is as I mentioned in another video, when I know I'm cutting it close and want to be sure I get it right on width.

One of the first things I learned when I got out of college and entered the working world, is that there are usually several ways to do the same job!
yup very true. What I find interesting is how many say only one way is right 😉

I'd l8ve to hear it 😉
I try to rotate 90 when I can, I do it because it makes edging faster because most edgings you only have to take off one side!!
