I admit I had too much expectation on him 2 weeks ago, his size can't afford him to guard a big man, he doesn't have enough speed to stop the SF or the guards ... I know he had been doing his best to play helped defense, but I got to say he defintly washed...... What he only had right now is the fundamental offensive skills (but with that poor athletic body, he can't score like before anymore. )

He gets the ball in the high post & he either bricks a shot or gets to the rim & gets blocked or misses. Melo isn't that good a one v one scorer anymore. There's a reason they moved away from his isolations & went more towards catch & shoot.

I never understood fully when ppl say one on one he’s unguardable like anyone who knows Melo he always and still is good at everything he can handle the ball and run offense if he has to he’s good in pick and roll. he’s not a transition player anymore obviously but on Denver it literally literally wasn’t anything Melo couldn’t doo if he had help like how mj kobe Lebron did at his peek he’d average 29 8 5 easily.

Melos needs to lose about 30lbs. 20 years ago, Melo game would fit the NBA, not today's game. Melo game is a half court set, he slows down the game.
He def needs to pull a Duncan and drop a ton of weight to get whatever speed and lift back he can, but his style of play isn't really a problem GS runs KD similarly for big stretches of games, Melo's just lost a step or two between age and that knee surgery.

Westbrook is teaching everyone how to defense XDD I'm not saying his defense is bad but all the time he is really get close to the rim for no reason (wait for the rebound) instead of sticking the guy he should follow up. He can't do this in the game because it's not one on one and he isn't fast enough to just get it and go. Teams would just being someone down and all the clock is gone and melo would force some crazy shit. He really needs to be better at passing and it would work but youbcabt teach an old dog new tricks.
