    Hi Brother, thank you so much for the detailed video. As am from India and am the first person God has chosen me from my family, I was not sure of what Bible to read. Thank God, that He made me buy Hendrickson's KJV Bible - large print and I have started to study the Word.
    Now that I wanted better understanding of the Word, I asked God to tell me of a good reference cum study Bible. Am so glad that God made me see this full video.
    Yes, I will buy both Ruckman's reference study Bible and the comman man reference Bible.
    Thank you so much. God Bless you, your family and your Ministry in all spheres of your life. Thank you once again!

    Study Bibles have their use, but there comes a time when you just need to put them on the shelf, and go with a plain text. Just you and God spending time together in His Word. I recently came to that point in my life. I used Scofield for 20+ years. Bought a CMRB. Nice Bible. Wasn't really crazy about some of Hoffman's ideas. Nonetheless, decent study Bible, and did like the fact that he gave praise to the text. Just a few things I read, and just didn't think them necessary. God will judge according as He sees best. I now use a plain text wide margin from LCBP for reading, and church. I use a Note Takers, also from LCBP for preaching. I used to use the Classic Note Bible from Anchor for preaching. After asking many times for them to fix their printing errors in the text, and getting no reply, I no longer use, or endorse it.

    I would not recommend the Thompson Chain Reference bible to a new believer. Because they aren't mature and are uninformed, they'll be prone to believe the false commentaries and can be led astray. Westcott and Hort ESPECIALLY shouldn't have been included in there! Those men were involved in the occult and did not believe in the deity of Jesus. Unbelievers have no business translating the Bible or having any sort of input.

    And your review regarding the Slight Flaw in their color coding sytem due to some passages having more than one implication... is a Big Flaw... that is one of the main reasons I cited in a different video.. for NOT purchasing the Rainbow study bible.. as some passages cannot be catorgorized as this or that... that is why as far as one color coding their own bible DO NOT fall into the pattern of coding like passages in such a manner... One who is coloring or hi-lighting their bible would do better if they stuck to just hi-lighting passages that mean something to them personally.. otherwise.. one wil end up with a bible that ends up being just a confusing MESS..... And your Rainbow bible can be easily fixed.. just apply some super glue to the spine and hold for a minute or so.... good as new!...I've done this to several hardcovers and paperbacks...

    The Thompson Chain is an excellent Bible. Not just for the "beginning" Christian. The linking of key words is very helpful for anyone. The First Day was one day, not a 1000 years, like some people believe. That's the point, it was only one day. I've been studying the Holy Bible for over 50 years and I still use my Thompson Chain.

    Always so much fun to watch these King James Debates! I have been enjoying them for a half century. Sadly, apparently the assumption is that none of us in America, speaking more than one language; I speak Four, including Latin. Or are some so vain and so diluted that they think that a true scriptural ation from ancient texts is only available in our faulty English Language? My only hope is that in the end run, regardless of the prejudices and biases of this cult, that our Lord shows grace and mercy to those who don’t know any better what an enjoyable little video!

      @@robertobriant3621 He does that, because the oldest copies of manuscripts do not have that verse at all. It was inserted in the King James Bible later. Give it some research. This isn’t the only scripture added to the King James Bible, there are several others. The research is very thorough, and well documented.
      That is why many tend to read newer translations like NET or NIV. They are new translations from the oldest manuscripts we have, without the all the additions of people later.

    1 - I found this channel searching for a study Bible. I subbed because it will take me a very long time to get through your content. I thank, and curse you for that. Kidding aside, I respect your opinion because you were very thorough with your review.
    2 - I want a Bible that will be the closest to the original meaning. I like reading the KJV, and that is as far as I can get so far. Due to your review I will look at "The Common Man's Bible." Due to a comment from a couple of days ago, I'm looking into "The Key Word Hebrew and Greek Strong's KJV." I would like your thoughts on that one as well. What I could find on that one so far was it seemed to take original words and reference them to modern language.
    3 - This choice gets to be difficult when getting to words that are no longer a part of the vernacular, but I love the poetic sense of the KJV, and it just feels right. When trying to figure out the meanings of some stories, I get lost, and it may be just one word, or it might even be trying to comprehend it in it's entirety. I understand a lot of the history behind certain stories, and how the meaning of the story can be changed because we don't live as we lived then. I wouldn't say I know the Bible well, but I know some of the stories that are more commonly told. The movie "Jesus of Nazereth" was what pulled me into wanting to learn more. For me, Robert Powell was Jesus Christ, and that might even be the reason I like the KJV above all else.
    4 - I appreciate any extra insight you might be able to give me. God bless.

      Greg, have you considered getting Gail Riplingers text In Awe of His Word. Have recommends one not spend on expensive Greek and Hebrew, especially since many of those have altered the definitions in the back English section in an attempt to deceive. They started by redefine meaning of words to other then what the original Greek and Hebrew Text would say, prior to starting to change Scripture itself. She recommends getting an old Webster dictionary, such as one from the 1800's or purchase the oxford dictionary (or use it online as this is a 20 volume book). She explains in the book In Awe of his word, the built in Bible Dictionary included in the KJV and with these tools, you will be much more prepared for study.

    I find it strange that in revelations Ch6 in the Thompson chain is Titled The first Seal FALSE CHRIST but you overlooked the title and say that the chain reference for the white hourse is talking about Jesus.The reference is showing a p.p Parallels of like scripture.The Anti christ a false Christ.I believe that when you fallow your own passions like kjv onlyism you overlook things to prove your own beliefs.Just like many Pentecostals overlook first Corinthians ch12.I have been in booth camps so I speak from my heart brother.Open your spiritual eyes see for yourself come out of these religious teachings.You say its dangerous when man adds helps to the bibles you dont approve of yet its ok for man to add helps to bibles that you agree to.I love you brother but I disagree with some of your teachings not all just some.You are my brother in Christ saved by His blood kept by His grace.Godbless

    Mathew 25 is a parable! "The bridegroom " represents God. This term was used many times in the NT to represent God. The many virgins represents the many believers who will find that they are not fully prepared for the return of Jesus when it does occur.

    I'm sorry, I usually agree with your statements. However, I must disagree with you reference to his statements deceiving the interdiction to the new testament. if you would have continued reading (as I did), you will see that he defended his statements as to the authenticity of the original transcripts quite reasonably.

    I do agree however, that there are many errors,, but on the other hand, anytime after person becomes involved in the interpretation of God's word, there is always going to be differences based on those interpretations.

    Thanks for this. As for Dr. Morris` A.V./K.J.V. study Bible, it is superb for use in questions that come from pseudo-science ("scientism"), e.g. the false paradigm of evolution. That is all to use it for. As for repairing paperbacks like the Rainbow Bible, put some white glue on the exposed binding edge, then medecin cabinet gauze on the fresh glue, then a little more white glue on the other side of the gauze. Affix cover back on the edge & apply pressure. When glue dries, trim the gauze.

      perhaps I should be plain, the bibles of this world, the new age bibles are from a wicked source, the KJV is a translation, not a paraphrase, which belongs to new age bibles. it is the duty of kings to search out a matter, the KJV was made by enlightened translators, the best of the time and from the best scrolls. the whole world lies in the power of the wicked one, therefore we must seek the word. seek the 160th church in the land of 139 churches. extra biblical text are ok, but not necessary.

      No, I believe the ESV is the best literal translation. NLT translation has too much "inclusive language". I don't want the translator's interpretation I want the literal word for word translation whenever possible.

      I like the sword Bible too, because it references which name or attribute of God, this passage is referring to, but I am think Gail Riplinger criticizes it in her book, and I haven't taken the time just to go through the Bible and look at the counterfeit list, but I am told by others, there are alterations. She also doesn't like the end of the verse definitions that sometimes show up as they can also be misleading as apparently we can not trust the alternate definitions they are filling in there. If you can ignore that and correct errors, there are benefits, but I don't like having a corrupt text in my hand. Much better to utilize the built in Bible dictionary.

      shawn stephens I'm using the same KJV Sword Study Bible too!!! although one thing Really DO NOT like at all is they change some words like [Twist, Shew and some others.] but other than that it's a great Bible with red letters in the OT. But at the end of the day, the Holy Bible AV is better without notes by anybody, just the scripture alone. I do wish there is a Holy Bible AV with red letters in Old Testament too, or just have it with color codings of the text with different colors similar like the rainbow.

      Thats hows people became christians in acts...repent...believe...baptism...recieve the Holy Spirit. Now a days people respond to an alter call at a worldly church say a 30 second prayer and go home to their idols and call themselves saved...acts 2:38 is more of a biblically account of how to become a real christian than what we have today thats for sure.

Um yes I see your point (Salvation). but don't try to make assumption that were are "lost" because its a "Study Bible" or because we don't have the AV. You better be careful what you say because God records everything what you say and you're going to have to give an account when that day comes.

    I think that C.I. Scofield was a great man, in regaining the dispensational view points on the KJV Bible.

    • @BibleTumper
      @BibleTumper 10 лет назад

      ***** He was a man like any other man. There isn't any intrinsic good in man. We are sinners,saved by the grace of God. If it were not for the Lord's saving grace,we would all be going to hell,and I never make any mistakes about that. His wife was a sinner to you know,but the main important thing is that,in this murky mess of fallen humanity,some one like CI Scofield was able to produces such great commentaries for the modern thinkers of our generation,is note worthy,but as for his personal life,the demons that plagues us is the affliction of us all. For the good evil of the good,and the bad evil of the bad. The man was brilliant.

    • @BibleTumper
      @BibleTumper 10 лет назад

      ***** I'm not particularly defending Mr. CI Scofield,but what I'm trying to get you to see is that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. If you never murdered,cheated on your wife,go to church every sunday in your suite and tie, pay your tithes faithfully...ect, It would be easy to compare one's self to those who fall short of your expectations,but how do your life compare to Jesus Christ,who was without sin? Christ is the measure by which we should compare ourselves to, in order to put things in proper perspective. It is by God grace that God gave his son to die for our continued sinfulness in this miserable
      flesh,but we are not in the flesh,but justified in the spirit by faith alone in Jesus Christ.

    • @BibleTumper
      @BibleTumper 10 лет назад

      ***** You are looking at the wrong kind of fruit my friend. Because we live in a fallen depraved world,human beings have the gall to look on the outside,while God look's at the heart,seeing whether or not a person is trusting in his Son. The fruit that we ought to be looking at is whether on not,that person is proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ or another gospel of,2 Cor.11:4-6; Gal.1:6-9;Matt.7:15-20,you will know them by what they profess out of their hearts/mouths you will know them. The good news is sins forgiven,life eternal,on God's behalf,sending his Son to ultimately die for sinners,while the obligation of the sinner is to trust totally in Christ atoning death. This is salvation,this is the fruit that we ought to be observing coming from a man that profess Christ,and CI Scofield fits the pattern of a born again believer in Christ Jesus our Lord,this is the kind of fruit I believe pleases God,not the condemnation of the devil. any one of us can bring down the condemnation of the devil,if we chews to operate in out fleshly natures,but it doesn't bring grace to the hearer,and you fill perfectly justified in doing so,but it doesn't bring glory to God,but honor to the devil,and what's even worst,you being a sinner is judging another man's true servant, God's. So what does that make you? a bona fide,100%,nothing added hypocrite,with all due respect.

    • @BibleTumper
      @BibleTumper 10 лет назад

      ***** Don't yawn,pay attention. I never said that I was good,but I will proclaim that I have been justified by grace,through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ,1 Cor.15:1-4. And you to could have this eternal life if you would but only trust in the finished work of Christ, and that alone for salvation.

    Looks like the Septuagint was written around 100 or so BCE, and not 200, although some scholars pointed out that it was done between 200-300 BCE.
    The text had to be written before Jesus, because there are some areas that either Paul used the Septuagint, or he translated the Hebrew into Greek when he wrote the epistles.

What I have noticed in these study Bibles are the errors they have in the interpretation of the prophetic books. I just watched the entirety of this video. I looked further into several of the bibles you recommended, and just purchased the Scofield bible from the kjv store. I currently have the Bullinger's Companion Bible, but that is hard to work with, because the side notes are very small, and all the notes are in the back. Each notation is a long and cryptic and here is an example: 11 Lord. Ap. 98. VI, B. 1. B.a. and you have to figure out where this is in the long list of (almost 200) appendices in the back. The notes are so tiny I can hardly read them. Also , the text has superscript letters, but no references to go with them. (?!) So in the meantime, I'm just reading the actual text and not using the notes or other resources. I get my new bible in 2 business days!!

    No phonetic text is inerrant, not even the original autographs. It part, this is the reason Jesus Christ came. It's critical to understand the limitations of phonetic text as a method of reproducing *sounds* rather than *meaning*. This is the reason Paul (and many others) say that the "letter kills." In a different passage he says "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Simply put, this implies that there is a spoken Word or an expressed Word that is the source of *hearinrg* as an external sense, and it implies that the internal hearing of sounds produced by reading phonetic text may be misleading.
    Now, this doesn't seem to me to be due to some Alexandrian doctrine, but is the simple meaning of the text as it is written subject to comparison. It presents an enigma, and the breakthrough that clarifies the enigma is something each of us must actually experience. I can suggest things about human sense, both internal and external, but this is just reason which should be only the servant of truth and not the leader. (In terms of history, the texts of the Torah were not written down in a phonetic alphabet until around the 6th Century BC at the time of the Captivity. Prior to that they were oral, or perhaps some were hieroglyphic, even though the phonetic alphabet had been invented approximately 1400 years earlier in 1900 BC.
    The doctrine that the writings were the "Word of God" is something you don't find until the invention of print. The reason for this is that prior to print, scriptures were transcribed by scribes and the writings were so precious that no one read them in solitude. They were read aloud and memorized. This role of memory and the role of the "voice" within a community of faith is critical, and it isn't comprehensible once the printing press comes on the scene. This is why there is a distinction between Renaissance, Enlightenment, and Reformation. They are not the same thing. The Reformation was the product of the Enlightenment, not of the Renaissance. The Renaissance took place during the manuscript era, *before* print. The printing press changes everything. It even creates visual perspective in art. This explains the *timing* of Jesus Christ's Incarnation on the Earth, and the reason why a post-print era can't understand the meaning of the Incarnation. Instead of worshipping the Word they worship "the letter" (which is what the Greeks called, "the dragon's teeth."

    The quality was very good, although I'm used to a different type of paper used for the pages. The paper felt a little lower quality, however I'm not an expert on paper. It may very well be of the highest grade. I also liked the fact that it was made in the U.S.A.
    It seemed a decent enough bible, so I just accepted it for what it was.
    However... (You knew there was a "however" coming didn't you?)
    I was reading Revelation, and came to Rev. 16:13, pertaining to the three "unclean spirits" coming out of the mouths of the "dragon", the "beast", and the "false prophet"... spoken of as "spirits like frogs". I read the footnote by D. Hoffman, and I thought "Wow that's really strange... maybe for some strange reason he's injecting a personal brand of off the wall humor. He gave references and most were speaking of the "prince of this world"; But the last reference given was Zechariah 5:2. That's where it got really strange.
    The folks that I ordered bible from were very gracious and helpful in allowing me to return the bible.
    Please read those footnotes yourself and let me know what you think.
    Tony

      Not trying to steal Bro. Brian's thunder, but David Hoffman is my pastor. He often throws out some very strange and wild ideas. I just take what lines up with Scripture, and throw out the rest. I haven't used my CMRB in months. It's on a shelf in the box it came with. Honestly, not a really big fan, after reading some of the notes
