  • Pago Pago (pronounced Pango Pango) was such a fun and informative day thanks to Rory West and Northshore Tours. He is a local that enjoys showing tourists this beautiful island. We spent 7-8 hours driving all over and seeing more of the island than expected. He bought fruit and coconuts for the trip, and also picked some fresh fruit from the trees around his house. We stopped by his house, which was the highlight of the trip for me.

Nice video! I lived and worked in the American Samoan Islands from 1980-92, my father was from there. Rory and I were good friends while I lived there and shared several adventures during those years,we continue to stay in touch via Facebook.

Think of the word bong and add an oh to the end (bong-oh), but use a p instead of a b. Pago Pago.

Thank you for sharing your experience. What village is Rory from? That coconut and passion fruit looks healthy and tasty.

Actually Ben, it is more that the 'Gs' are pronounced like an 'N'....with the tongue touching the upper part of the mouth. The 'Ts' are informally pronounced like with a 'K' sound.

Idem. Já vi muito sobre a Polinésia Francesa tambem. Todos os países do Pacífico me atraem. Um dia quero visitar todos, pena que é tudo mais difícil para brasileiro.

Na verdade um dia quero não só visitar, mas morar e viver lá pelo resto da vida. No momento estou apenas estudando qual vai ser.
