- Hello everyone, I'm Rose from Uganda. My Chinese husband and our son (Anzai) live with me in a rural village in China. I share with you the joys of cooking and daily life in rural China!

I’m pretty sure this is what God intended for people when He created the world. Harmony, community, sharing, people of all ages and backgrounds supporting and teaching one another. In the cities we are sooooooo far removed from this way of life, it makes me sad thinking about it. I genuinely can’t imagine sharing this level of sisterhood with my neighbors. At least we know that somewhere in the world, God’s original plan is alive and kicking.
I agree, I love watching these videos because there is such a sense of community. I live in a subdivision and no matter how I try and get to know each of my neighbors we never seem to connect and really only chat at the mailbox or wave as we go into the house. I think it’s because most of us are still working and have to spend so much time and energy there we are so exhausted we just go hibernate in our homes after work. Then on the weekends (if we aren’t working at our jobs) we are so busy trying to maintain these ridiculous standards we just work in the yards or take care of house cleaning and if we are very lucky we can sometimes see our families (usually the kids dumping the grandchildren for us to take care of while they go off and play). There is little joy in life or from our families. This place looks like people actually care about their neighbors and families. And the neighbors and families care back. People come and help with tasks and it’s fun. Life isn’t all work and drudgery. When they work together they laugh and enjoy each other’s company. Such a nice thing that is rapidly becoming forgotten in our part of the world. 😢

Hoy vivo en un apartamento, muy tranquilo todo pero las personas ni se ven , q triste 😢. Yo veo a Rosa porq me gusta su humildad, su sentido de colaboración, se ve q los vecinos la aman , es tan alegre ella disfruta todo lo q hace , así deberíamos comportarnos todos los seres humanos para q el Amor de Dios reine en todas partes . I live in an apartment. I only see neighbors when I am in the hallway if I am lucky enough. Don't know names or anything. Been here ten years in the apartment. Hi hello if I see anyone. 🙏🏽🕊👍🏽Don't like it.
You are so right it's what we have lost throughout centuries a good brotherly love life in community but God will bring this back again....
Rose has made that community her very own. You would think she was born and raised in the culture. That is how life should be; everyone living in harmony despite age, race, geography, religion, etc.

Yes of course she’s doing great no matter how long the videos are. I watch regardless. I just love Rose so much and interested in the life she lives out in the country side of China. It is different from mine so I’m really interested in seeing more because her life is typically not what I see here where I’m at. She leads an interesting life and I enjoy her cooking. Didn’t know it was a crime to want to see more of her rural life in China as an African woman married to a Chinese man and speaking his language. It’s fascinating. So yes, 30 minutes would be an extra blessing for us once in awhile. 🤗

That's not her mother-in-law, that's her neighbor, she doesn't have parents in law, she only have brothers in law and their wives. She is close to them so maybe they're like family.

I love how the family/community seems to embrace her, she shows me I don't need to be running after all the latest this or that, just being happy, being creative with what we have and living a simple life surrounded by love is so rich❤

What a delightful video! I miss that community spirit where I live. I miss having family and neighbors close and getting together to do tasks (many hands make light work). I miss the laughter and the joy that doing things together used to provide. Watching these videos makes my heart smile. Somewhere in the world it’s nice to know people still care about each other and look out for each other. Thank you all for sharing your lives with us. It lifts my spirits!!
I remember all my mother's friends getting together sharing laughter and cooking food together. What a delight us kids had, it has been so long ago but it seems like yesterday. Everyone cared for each other & had manners. Now a days everyone is so busy with their lives & don't have time to stop and enjoy the time you have now. I am glad that I have beautiful memories in my twilight years for everyone is leaving & know one to pass these memories to. That is why I enjoy watching Rose daily for she is following in the Lords path spreading love,joy & faith to all that stop to watch her, with her family, friends & community giving so much happiness to all.
When we would make tamales 🫔 with my aunts and cousins, my dad would sit back and watch with a huge smile. He would say, I love seeing my girls working hard and smiling (he had 3 daughters) but don't worry, dad was responsible for starting and keeping the fire going and lifting the heavy pots.

Of course she must embrace our culture and community, she made a choice to marry Chinese and move to China, how long do you think she would last if she didn't, come on be serious.
Tho it is good she embrace us but she not the only woman that cooks with and or feeds the community we all do where do you think she learn from, from us.
It would be nice once in a while if you ppl would acknowledge us for teaching her, none of you ever give us thanks or respect and it offends us greatly.
There are so many African women here now who marry Chinese that does the same as Rose but you never acknowledge them either, the difference is they work so much harder than Rose, Rose is spoiled by Shou Wu he hands her everything where the other woman have to do it on their own but most work side by side with their husband's.
Don't you see most of this is for her video's for her to make money no more no less, you see what the camera's let you see, we live here so we know.

WOW! So much work went into making those dumplings! How fun was it, to watch Rose, Mei, and the aunties working together! The savory filling looked so delicious, especially with the Chinese sauerkraut. Rose is that called ‘suan tsai?’ My co-workers and I used to go have noodles with suan tsai. So many years later, I can still remember the flavor. Rose, the dumplings were not ugly…..They were rustic looking-so much better than a machined and perfect dumpling that you would buy at the store. Great job girls!! ❤

I love to watch Rose cook. I'm glad she still cooks now she isn't working at a restaurant anymore. I wonder if I would have gotten tired of cooking after doing it every day?! I eyeball my ingredients as well, easier to cook that way (but not bake!). Love these cute little shows.

These are the best things on these platforms to watch so calming. Instead of the other crap I am very selective. If it too much drama I don't give it my time. Country life is best less stress.
