So art is not so much what it physically is, but the meaning we give to it? It makes sense... but with modern art people are pushing this to the extreme 😂

Honestly, the fact that it is satire and framed with absurdity and minimalism makes them all desirable pieces. Despite going in with no intent. "No intent" became the subject of the pieces. It's fascinating how the art takes on a life of its own even if you don't want it to haha
@@dubfather521That doesn’t change the fact that the video itself is an art. So what is real art? Photorealism? Photos can do it better. Art doesn’t exist to just mimic what you see. Right, stories and unique concepts/scenarios bring value to art. The fact that it was done for this concept and created some things to think about, etc., and was a one time thing, they have some real value!
The art itself is not the price of the canvas, but your creation of this video. And that art is held within those canvases. The very best thing of modern art is that anyone artistic can make it. And you, or your friend who did it, made an art! The door one is definitely a very gentle and beatiful piece

How can an experienced art appraiser not see these are cheap Amazon canvases? Gallery quality canvas is a heavy, tight weave 100% cotton stretched over a high quality frame.
Oh, so art has to be expensive? Who decided that? Da Vinci also painted on really cheap canvases using really cheap paint. Would you say that makes his art bad?
And furthermore, in a critique of the modern art landscape, that wants to show how bloated art has become, using expensive canvases would kinda defeat the purpose
Not for nothing, the appraiser had a valid point. I mean just think about it. Imagine how hard it is to stand out in the saturated field of art. Going to the bold extreme of doing an all white, nothing else, Not even paint! Art exhibit. Is a truly bold move if you were taking art seriously. and it’s even smart if standing out from the crowd is what you wanted to do. The fact that you had to make those Amazon canvases look like art for the sake of it being believable. You may not realize it but you’re making art! No matter how cheap or quickly it was made. It seems stupid but in reality it’s really creative 💯 if you were to make the cheap blank canvas art your thing and really explore how far you can push the limits of that concept, like 100 tiny canvases screwed onto a large canvas or 20 canvases but the one in the middle is slanted etc. I would 100% respect it. People can appreciate things that the creator themselves had no idea about. Like for example, I'm an architecture student and although you put up everything seemingly randomly, a lot of the compositions are actually very interesting to me because it's something we study in our field. The problem with the art world is that it tries to put a price tag on literally everything and then it just becomes more about holding value and prestige rather than simple appreciation.
Not going to lie, This art is beautiful. I personally don’t have anywhere near enough money to buy art like this, but we all know that it’s really just about providence and the story behind it. But from an artistic perspective, this does have an interesting story. It says something about art and in particular, the experience of going to an art gallery.
