Actually all 3 units are based off the Gundam Ground Type, they're all Gundams, Unit 1 just has a GM Ground Type Head because it already had the EXAM system installed, both Unit 2 and Unit 3 are modified for Space use as well at the end, Unit 1 is ground type use only.
@@agaanugrah.a522 Gundam Ground Type is a Gundam. All Gundams in UC are given the RX designation (why Guncannon and Guntank also use RX is still a mystery). Gundam Ground Type uses the same Lunar Titanium that was used on RX-78-2 but in a less quantified state as Lunar Titanium was still rare to mine in 0079. Only 30 Ground Types were built, with three we know given for the Blue Destiny program. Another 3 were given to the 08th MS Team. We know at least 1 Ground Type that had the Gundam Hammer.

Gundam ground type isn’t a gundam, it’s just given gundam head to give psychological effect to the enemy.
