If this is true I’m extremely happy with the hire. His offenses rank consistently in the top 15 and he’s young so he can connect with recruits. I love this pick!
As a Miami fan, I do fear Florida State would get right back to 8 wins next year (including against the Canes) if Brennan Marion was actually the hire.
Everyone who is saying Deion...I truly believe he will not be coaching for long. Hes coached his kids 100% of the way. He'll go back to TV very soon. Maybe not right away but thats my opinion. Could be completely wrong. 😎
"We have 2 young QBs we dont know if we can believe in". Shouldnt that be 3? Why is Trevor not given any thought what so ever? If hes that bad get rid of him, if not give him a fair shake.
Sounds good to me. But, no matter how mad or excited the fans are, no matter the disgusting or effusive comments are about any of the new hires, it all boils down to what happens on the field next September. Norvell knows this is the "put up or shut up" year of his FSU coaching career.
Folks were pissed when Coach had to "settle" when putting his staff together. Now Coach has a chance to get his #1 choice, the #1 guy on many people board and our fan base is still complaining....
Oh ok. I remember in November of 2019 when Norvell was hired. “One of the brightest young offensive minds in college football with a system made for playmakers “ WTF happened to that? He forgot how to call plays and now needs someone to do it for him? In ten months you’ll be not only firing the guy, but paying another set of assistants millions not to coach.
Because a guy with a 13-1 record recruits a 1-9 roster the following year? However, it’s more than likely he will now keep his decent players and then recruit enough good players to salvage a winning season in 2025. Goddamn, bet you still leave cookies for Santa and have a Bigfoot friend named Fred?
@r.guardia9107 why you mad bro? Is it really wrong to have optimism and believe in norvell cause he knows if I don't get this hire right I'm done here and I know he wants to be here. He chose us over bama let that sink in your head. Have a little faith, it wouldn't kill ya
Oh, I’m not mad. Just think it’s ridiculous a coach in year 5 is back to square one. This guy apparently felt like his 2024 team was to be his best yet, but we see how off his assessment was. I don’t have one ounce of faith in this guy. Mistakes like that aren’t indicative of an elite coach.
Alex Atkins had some great moments early in his tenure, especially when FSU's offense led the ACC in scoring and total yards during the 2022 season. But the complete collapse in 2024, when we ranked dead last in scoring and total offense, showed his inability to adapt. That’s not acceptable for a program of FSU's caliber, and it’s why I think we need a big-name hire to lead the offense moving forward. Brennan Marion is an intriguing candidate, no doubt. His 'Go-Go' offense has a lot of innovative concepts, blending triple-option principles with modern spread elements. It’s designed to create mismatches and maximize versatility, which could be exactly what we need after a year of stagnant and predictable play-calling. But Marion hasn’t yet proven himself at the Power Five level as an offensive coordinator, which makes me skeptical about handing him the reins at a program like FSU, where expectations are sky-high. That said, if Steve Sarkisian at Texas thinks highly of Marion, there’s clearly something special about him. Sark knows offense better than almost anyone, so his endorsement does carry weight. Marion feels like a high-risk, high-reward move-he could be the innovative spark FSU needs to modernize and dominate again, but he’s not a sure thing. Personally, I’d prefer a more established name, someone with a proven track record at this level, but Marion could surprise us. It’s definitely a bold choice, if FSU goes that route.
If your offensive game plan doesn’t include having a physical offensive line to at least reasonably drive the defensive front off the ball I am not interested.
Just terrible. Tell me one kid he recruited and went pro? He can’t stay anywhere long enough to coach his own recruits. He has no history of developing HIS players or even recruiting. Such a bad hire.
@@samkessler1111 my counter to that would be, if you look at his stops, they have all be career advancements. Head coaches barely get 4 years now so how would an assistant get that long.
Seems promising but if he gets a HC job why would he come here? We’re not going to have a great roster. Seems like his stock won’t get much higher if he goes 7-5 next season. Can he recruit? I don’t think we’ll get the perfect combo with these hires but if we get him I’ll be satisfied
We have to stop talking about old ass football coaches like nobody want Malzahn let's get Brandon we need a young offensive coordinator in a young defensive coordinator somebody that's in tune with the days athletes the problem is right now our coaching staff is out of touch with the student athletes of the day we need young coordinators not some old washed up coach stop that
This is another “maybe” choices. He’s not a proven name but I don’t really see any huge names beating down the door. FSU doesn’t have the luxury of time with the porthole opening soon. We already feel one of the QB’s will transfer. I hope this isn’t Luke! He’s shown the bast upside with only being a freshman.
Why would you put this out in public as he's the guy if he wants it ...what if it fall through? You've just told everyone else who were under consideration that if you come here you were second choice
Agree 100%. FSU needs someone that has been associated with the big boys. Someone that can identify what a player looks like, plays like, talks like in a proven system.
@juice_suarez yeah. Have you watched Mike squander away 2 great seasons and his prior hires and promoting a GA with no prior on field QB coaching experience to be the QB coach AT FSU!?
Where was the fall camp intel? Were you guys even AT fall camp? Zero intel this past summer during camp, raising any red flags. Good grief. But THIS, you're on top of. Okay.

Still not sold on Norvell, never was. Hopefully, Norvell screws up enough to get his arse canned within the near future as his coaching picks are mediocre to poor yet again….
Would you be happy with Brennan Marion as the next FSU OC?
He seems to be the most popular and most talked about candidate. I imagine we would all be happy with him.
Heck yeah he should be #1 on the board .
Depends on if his offense is built for playmakers. What happens when you don't have those playmakers?
Yes to Brennan... BIG NO to Gus
what atkins did to this o line...that has to be fixed asap
At the end of the day I just want an SEC level defense
Norvell is a G5 HC… no defense
How about an FSU level defense! Forget the SEC
I'm ok with the hire but that o line coach needs to be a sure fire pick
The main thing that will make this a success is can they get elite recruits to sign with FSU.
If this is true I’m extremely happy with the hire. His offenses rank consistently in the top 15 and he’s young so he can connect with recruits. I love this pick!
Where? One year.
Need to know who his O-line coach is
I would like former rice head coach as ol line coach
As a Miami fan, I do fear Florida State would get right back to 8 wins next year (including against the Canes) if Brennan Marion was actually the hire.
Right back to 8 wins is crazy..

Just stole USC’s 5-star QB commit. #2 overall player. Maybe he’ll stick around.
Nebraska fan here. IF you get the UNLV OC n the go go offensive. This will make FSU a nightmare for the ACC. with elite players running the go go OMG
Arizona state ties…..that hotbed of proven experience and winners😃
If Merion is coming, it’s not hard to think that Sluka wouldn’t come with him!
Yeah that would be nice
Sluka was terrible lol
I'm pretty sure he and Sluka were beefing. But maybe green is both of their favorite colors too.
Hartline at any cost. He has recruited in Florida and beat us.
If Coach Marion does come, bring that QB that started the year with you as well
The QB I would want from there is out of eligibility after this year

Exactly he should have been given a shot with how the season has gone unless they didn’t want him to burn his redshirt.

Probably because Norvell needs a recruiter more than a OC
Stoked!
Who is the oline coach? Who is the dline coach?
Trever would probably be the best QB, under a Brennan run offense.
For some reason Mike won’t even try him out
@@DNiceMusic89 If Norvell hires Brennan, I don’t see Luke, or Brock staying. They don’t fit in Brennan’s system.
Brennan Marion has great connections to recruits!
Where’s the proof of this? He hasn’t ever stayed in one place long enough to recruit.
WR we've been high on them for 3 years now, because of their preseason practices. But they never come to fruition. Is this due to lack of WR coaching?
If he recruits and scores points.
Yes! Recruits love him!
It doesn’t matter who he hires, Mike is fired after the 2026 season. He can’t recover from this season n the snub of last year.
@johnsowers352 this is Mike's safe hire. He's not hiring anyone that might be his replacement and a fan fave, like Mullen, Hartline, etc.
Will he have an O-line that can block?
No

Unfortunately he doesn’t hang around long. So I’m concerned about the one and done…. That’s if he doesn’t get a head coach gig.
He’ll probably go somewhere else like the recruits we keep losing, I won’t get excited until if and when he becomes the OC😢
