LONGEST RIDE ON BMW GS 310 | Day 1 BANGALORE to NAGPUR

- This was Day 1 of our Bangalore to Lucknow ride and we rode from Bangalore to Nagpur covering a distance of 1180 Kms. This was the longest ride on BMW GS 310 till date.
We rode for 17 hours and had a very comfortable ride as far as GS310 performance is considered.
Road conditions Updates:
Bangalore to Hyderabad: Amazing 4 lane highway with couple of diversions and construction work in Kurnool. Took 8 hours to reach Hyderabad.
2 wheelers are not allowed on Nehru tunnel Outer ring road in Hyderabad so you have to take city route to exit Hyderabad. We took Himawat Sagar Lake - Gacchibowli - Hitech City exit.
Hyderabad to Adilabad: Smooth roads with less traffic. Cruied cofortably 120+ throughout.
Adilabad to Nagpur: Road conditions start getting bad in last 160 kms to Nagpur. The roads have sudden potholes, many people end up with bent rims on this stretch. Lot of diversions and truck traffic. Avoid this route at night (just because of deep potholes).

I really liked the fact that you called 70-90 kmph "slow" (No sarcasm). It shows how much you like biking (In speed) which's a very good thing keep it up.
EDIT: I love long trips too, me and my parents went to gujarat (Ahmedabad) for Diwali in 2020 and covered somewhat 800 kms (+- 10 kms).
Yup...have to be very cautious on highways...we normally cruise around 100-110 ...

Thats a smart thing to do to follow a car during low visibility scenario. Also very important to maintain a fair distance to be able to stop safely.

Very passionate touring video Prateek! I’ve one question for you as you travel a lot with pillion and luggage. The payload capacity of the BS VI BMW 310 GS is 170Kg (BMW recommended gross vehicle weight is 345 KG). However, with the accessories, pillion and luggage, it seems that I might overload the bike by approx. 15 to 30 Kg (which is 5 to 10% if the gross vehicle weight). Do you think that 310 GS is capable to tolerate such overload?
Will there be any safety/ stability issue? Looking forward to your reply.

You can bypass Hyderabad by car on ORR but not on bike

Travelling with gs is still easy. I still feel for that rs guy 😐. Too much stiff 😅. And travelling almost 2k kms. 👏. Hats off to you and your buddies. 👏. And a new subscriber for you so near to you neighbouring city Lucknow. Pratapgarh if u know 😊.
RS isn't that bad for long ride...ofcourse nothing matches the comfort of GS though
We did K2K on R15 in 2018...same highway...4k kms

Are you sure bro its 22 fuel economy.... Thats in the teritory of Tiger, vstorm... I know you have luggage and pillion but thats too low. Is it normal in the Gs310? Cause my 390 Adv is giving almost 29-30 in highways in my recent 1000 odd km trip. That too with pillion and luggage.

boss please tell me, decision on your answer. i am long tourer with wife, my weight is 99 and my wife is 66, we usually carry 3 bags for long rides. i am looking for suspension. i recently sold my bullet electra 350 on which i did many rides from mumbai to goa , mumbai to mangalore...firstly looking for good suspension for touring and looking for 120 speed also for empty roads. i am really confused between ktm adventure 390, himalayan, bmw gs 310....please guide me , my decision is fully on your answer. our age is 49 and 46. looking for good suspension and good speed on empty roads...please please guide...thank you in advance
