Teaching a child “how” to learn is vital. I agree, they don’t need to learn everything - they just need the skills to know how to learn something when situations present themselves.

Ascher really was active with the remodeling of the house. I’ve been really impressed as I’ve watched him mature and become a really self-actuated and hard working young man. I have really noted his transformation from child to man. Really, all the kids seem to be doing great.

Just want you to know that the "slow" pace that you're getting projects done in is just encouragement for all us diyers out here struggling to complete our projects and questioning ourselves about why it's taking so long. Seeing it happen IN REAL LIFE for someone else and knowing that some things just take time lets us know that we're doin' alright. ;)

I have enjoyed your channel for a long time now - have loved you redoing and painting furniture - all your renovations - thrifting - your love for historical items - baking - your wit and humor, but especially your love of family. I grew up in rural Oregon on my grandparent's ranch and they raised the same kind of rabbits for meat, along with other livestock, chickens, guinea hens, dogs, cats! I had to help with chores so I fed and watered the rabbits daily in the cool cages my grandfather devised that hung from the barn rafters about 6 feet off the ground so they were safe from any would be predators, plus poop cleanup was easy because it just collected underneath the cages and we put a little hay down and just scoop with a shovel and toss in a wheelbarrow and take to the fields for fertilizer. The part I didn't like was the butchering, skinning, prepping to freeze them. 🥺
I do admire your family's efforts to be self sufficient and eat as healthy as possible. ❤
You have such a precious family. I have been enjoying watching your beautiful family's adventureous life for quite a few years because I recall you had just adopted Jude when I started watching. I felt finally inspired to comment. God bless. 😊

You guys are amazing, as a family and as a couple. Am certain there are times when the stresses get to one or both of you, no to mention the children. The fact that the two of you seeminly still stand united is amazing in and of itself, especially in this day and age. One gets the impression that over and above your faith, your relationship is based on many things including the fact, I am presuming, you are one the others best friend. Many couples do not have this, nor do they give thought to its importance, Thank you for allowing us to take peeks into yoy and you family's lives,

I have watched one too many “live” or “talk-only” vlogs and been so bored that I either fell asleep and dropped my iPad (ouch!) or turned to a different channel. However, I have been watching your vlogs for quite awhile and was curious, so decided to give you a try. What a fabulous, well-organized, interesting, honest job you did! Five gold stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ! That is the highest rating that I give out. You both are inspiring and thoughtful and clever. I love your ambition to take on challenges and encourage each other. I look forward to your second part in answering questions as much as I look forward to your sourdough stories, bedrooms and kitchen renovations, and Esther’s return! Thank you for sharing so much about your lives.

My father started building our home when I was in first grade. He , my grandfather and my uncle laid the cement blocks for the basement. Dad installed walls to divide it into rooms and set up a small kitchen. He installed a toilet, sink and shower for a bathroom. Wallboard was installed on the walls that faced the center hallway. The walls on the interior side of each room were unfinished. We moved into that basement at the end of my first year of school. He worked on the “house” over that basement on weekends and any vacation he accumulated. I was a senior in High School when he completed the house and we ‘moved upstairs’. He did everything himself with my mom’s occasional assistance. That house stands today. My father lived there until Jan of 2023. 54 years

Thank you for this Q & A. I have been enjoying your videos for quite awhile now and I so enjoy your family and all your creativity. I loved your pie month and thought about you Megan the other day, I watched a young man make a chicken pot pie and he only did a top crust which had grated sharp cheddar cheese and parmesan cheese in the dough. It looked delightful. I really look forward to the next visit to Q & A's. Thank you also for the remark that your children didn't do the sports thing....to many people, this is just the way you have to do. It is a ridiculous amount of money spent and many kids just wish they had time to be kids...explore the woods, swim in a pond, roller skate around the neighborhood, etc. Looking forward to the next video. Y'all have a Blessed day.

Love you guys ❤ even though I didn’t have any questions 😅
Your business is your business. And yes, I’ve got your backs.
I’ve also been diving into the sourdough world since last October, and I get what you mean Meghan 😊
So happy for your eldest climbing his first step on the ladder after completing a super strong foundation.

I think it is a better learning environment to help each other and self motivated projects.
Make better kids than school were they learn psychological games and meanness.

I got such a kick out of you saying Jude should become a commercial pilot. As the mother of 3 sons, and being 71, I think now, I wish I’d pushed one to become a plumber, one a chiropractor and one into construction. 😁
Of course we just want our kids to be happy and self sufficient, but would sure be nice to have a chiropractor in the family!

Thank you for sharing your lives with us. I need to pray more for my grown children and grandies to have more creative and entrepreneur desires in their lives. They don't seem to care about learning new things or working hard at anything or give up immediately. I'll give it to God to fill their hearts and minds with His wisdom. Blessings to you and family.
