What an amazing collection of airplanes here. I think the Navy's retired F-14 Tomcat, and the current F/A-18 Super Hornet, completely are the very best. One mention, the F-35 used by the Air Force is also a very mean little beast too!!!!
The F-35 is actually the greatest aircraft ever made. Especially the block 4 F-35. Every airforce it’s available to wants to buy the F-35. It’s a cheap 5th generation jet and it’s better in almost every way than the F-22. The F-35A costs $78 Million which is cheaper than a F-15 or F/A-18 E/F or French Rafale but the F-35 is a far superior fighter jet than all of those. It’s difficult for casuals to understand why the F-35 is so great but if you do your research you’ll see what I mean. It has never lost a procurement contract against any aircraft. Every airforce has chosen it over the competition like the F-16 block 70, Super Hornet, Gripen, Eurofighter typhoon, Rafale etc.
The, F14 was not retired due to technological advances. It was retired due to insanely high maintenance cost and maintenance hours per flight hour. Also, rumored that Dick Chaney had stock in the F18 manufacturing company and is why Chaney pushed to cancel the F14 as well. Plans were on the books to make a new upgraded F14, that arguably would have been way better than the F18 Super Hornet that replaced the, F14. So no, it was not because of technological advances. Also, the newest Super Hornet is the Block 3, not the E/F. Super Hornet is slower than, F14 yes, but it's because the Super Hornet is not a primarily fighter and interceptor. It's a multi-role fighter jet. Doesn't require massive engines. F35 was not picked because the military Said and I quote....."fuck no" lol. It's sad how, people can make RUclips videos and give completely wrong information but make it come off as 100% correct which than makes viewers think they now know the real facts. It's why so much misinformed is out and why people argue over facts. Arguing over facts is just ridiculous and shows ignorance in people. And ignorant people usually always think they can and never be/are wrong. Which obviously reinforces the evidence of ignorance lol. Also, Russia also only has, 3 or 4 operational SU-57s. They do have more than a dozen in total, but only 3 or 4 are operational built fighters. Rest are test beads for the SU-57 and are not equipped with all of its capabilities and hardware/software. Also, the SU-57 isn't even using the engines that Russia intended for it. Lol. So the, "public" capabilities of the SU-57 are the capabilities that Russia wants it to have but in reality, doesn't have. Ha. Also, the, P-51 is not only 1 of 2 that can fly. Lmao. There are about 2 dozen flying, P-51s. Jesus. Do some research bro. 🤔 like, 90% of what this dude narrated in this video is completely wrong and or made up. Lol. What happened to people just doing like 30 minutes of research on a subject that said person is making........why is that so hard to do? Lol. Poor world. No wonder why the aliens haven't killed us all.....they feel bad about thinking of just killing us all because we're all so retarded now lol
It's funny how easy it is to get information yet people somehow find it extremely difficult yet still but eventually you find people that really do know what they are talking about and that is pretty cool

No one mentions folks like my uncle and even my father who piloted B=17s in WW2 over France and Germany, flew in and out of North Korea in C-47s carrying supplies in and wounded Marines out before the Chinese got them and then. my uncle, after 15 years riding a desk at Patrick and other bases got called up for a year flying r prop planes into the landing areas in Vietnam where the big jet transports could not land in order to bring in reinforcements and body bags out. He, in his 50s with 11 children, a "Bird" Colonel and how did the USAF reward him? He was passed over for promo for the 3rd time due to the clan, he was raising which kept him out of inter-office politics. Yea they gave him a 35 year retirement for his 33 1/2 years but still showed him the door. The fact is just surviving the 30 missions he piloted over Europe in the B-17 was a huge accomplishment . More US and British bomber crews died in WW2 than US Marines. and their UK counterparts Don't believe me? Look it up.
7:22 love the Darkstar mockup but those air intakes are ridiculously large and would create many times the drag of the rest of the airframe. Guessing they did this because the movie going public would associate large intakes with BIG engines and speed, but it's not as simple as that.
Used by the U.S. Air Force? Sorry, this was a Navy film. USAF uses the F-35A, the Navy uses the F-35C (a larger version). USAF doesn't use F/A-18s, E2 Hawkeyes or F-14 Tomcats. The Darkstar prototype could be USAF (the SR-71 Blackbird was). That leaves only the venerable P-51 which was originally USAA but saw service in USAF when it became a separate service in 1947.
What a shame the F-22 was never incorporated into the film. I know its not a navy plane, its air force, but even in an unrealistic BS scenario I would have loved to see a cameo.
The Darkstar hypersonic plane in Top Gun: Maverick was obviously inspired by two planes; the Lockheed SR-72, and the concept F-19 Stealthfighter model. As for the enemy not being identified in this movie, it was the same as the original Top Gun movie. The enemies in both movies were never identified. I just want to know what country they got the SU-57's from.
The Su-57 was just CGI. Even Russia only has a few production models of the Su-57 and none are combat capable. For the most part the Su-57 is a production failure, that no other country wants to buy. India dropped out of the Su-57 program after investing Billions because the Su-57 wasn’t a good enough 5th generation jet. So currently no Su-57’s are combat capable. Russia only has a few serial production models built. And if the program doesn’t get canceled Russia will have 76 Su-57’s by 2028 (most likely by 2030 because the production keeps getting delayed) In comparison the USAF will have around 1200 F-35’s and 186 F-22’s by 2030 which are both far superior to the Su-57. The F-22 is not for sale but the F-35 is for sale only to US allies, and literally almost every country in the world wants to buy the F-35. Dozens already have bought the F-35’s
OMG i listened up to the point where they say the SU57 took out the Super Hornet but I had to wonder did the person watch the movie because the Superhornets were taken out by missiles...
CGI could have easily placed the actor in the seat F-35 or F-18, I'd bet a paycheck that Tom Cruise insisted they get backseat time in the Super Hornets just for the experience of it all. Hell, if I was an A-lister Multimillionaire Actor renowned for doing my own stunts I'd have insisted on it too. 🙂

Well US enemies typically buy Russian jets because Western jets are not available to them. Any enemy of the US is an enemy of the western world. And the Russian pseudo 5th generation jet the Su-57 doesn’t really even exist IRL, it’s a production failure. Only a few production models have been built and none of them are combat capable. No country wants to buy them so Russia can’t fund the Su-57 program. India invested billions into the program but back out because they were dissatisfied by the final product, the Su-57 didn’t meet India’s expectations so they pulled out.

Except that the F-35 is slightly slower than the F-22. But I don’t think that matters right?
Made over $1billion despite not being shown in any communist movie theater. 👏👏👏
Just a legendary movie
But we want it seen in commie theaters. It’ll make more money
My man is drinking American koolaid
There's a communist country that can easily beat that amount with their failed movie. So what's your point

Really cool information!!! Enjoyed that very much
nice work flying that fighter mr. barry seal 😂
amazing air control nice to see, thx us
"A few scenes earlier" a SAM took out Mav in a FA 18 Super Hornet not a Russian SU57. He wasn't shot down by a jet in this film or ever.
in reality the super hornet will be toyed by sukhoi su-57

Im confused how is it air force and they dont run all the planes

@@tylerclayton6081 That was a mistake. But thanks for letting me know. It has been corrected.

The gun on the Su-57 is on the right side irl, but in the movie they put it on the left side, thats a mistake.
