I have the 1920's one, it is the best working and quality loco I have ever bought, perfect and flawless, so impressed that I am getting the BR lined green one too. Awesome!
Quite nicely geared. Just about the right speed. I'd love to see earlier liveries from when the first 4300s were built. R.O.D. Khaki or lined GW Green. A fun livery would be GWR green with 'British Railways' on the tender or even Wartime Black. Maybe in future. They do look good, the finish is excellent. If I can get 7325 in late crest lined black I will be one very happy modeller.
They're certainly great runners, thats for sure. Dapol's model currently covers the locomotives built after the First World War, but we may see the earlier-built locomotives in the ROD and lined GWR liveries in the future.
There was no ROD khaki. That's a model company mistake and they keep making it - Hornby next. Some Moguls may have been painted brown to cut costs during the war but they weren't RODs. They were all black or grey and one or two trial paint schemes in zebra/dazzle but no photos seem to exist of that.
Mine arrived today and it’s all Dapol said it would be. My only gripe, and it’s a little one, the firebox glow on dc is a waste of time. A bit like smoke units in locos of old. Apart from that, a beautiful model. Regards Alan
Why is it that coal in tenders of model OO engines is always of the "graded grains" type? It was often much lumpier. Yes one can always add more realistic coal but it would be neater to make it more realistic in the moulding. John
While I'm a fan of Brunswick Green, my favourite out of the three liveries available is Great Western Green. I'm hoping the model will become available to buy in Chester Model Shop, as that is the nearest shop to me.
Hi Tidford, we're still awaiting this to be confirmed but we expect it to be dual-speaker fitted as you state. Once we know for certain we'll update our description on the site.
It may sound expensive but you get a lot for your money - a superbly detailed model and a fully authentic sound decoder recording from the real life locomotives.
That is a lovely looking model. The loco to tender coupling connector looks good hope other manufacturers take note.
Thanks Richard, I couldn't believe how easy it was to couple the two together. I'm looking forward to seeing this design on future models.

Glad you enjoy it! They're excellent models and well worth picking up if you're a GWR or BR western region modeller.
Hi Dave. I like the close up shots of the locomotive well done!
Thanks Chris, its a loco that's definitely worth taking a closer look at, thats for sure.
I love the new Mogul engine, I can't resist it any longer.
They're hard to resist, Kelly! What livery is your favourite?

I have ordered a sound fitted version. Does it come with a the bass speaker in the tender as well as the high range in the loco?

Why no BR Standard 3MT Mogul yet? ☹🤞🤞🤞The GW Mogul is still great though...
A 77xxx would be something, wouldn't it? Why not suggest it to our development team at ideas@hattons.co.uk :-)
@@HattonsModelRailways I think I may have mentioned it but in case I have not, I will 😊
£264 dam that's expensive for a sound loco isn't it ?
