Hey thank alot for the info I really appreciate it, I bought the pipe and last night tried install it on my 08 rxt-x I took all the hoses off but still couldn't figure out how to get the muffler out, could you help me out on what else besides the hoses do I need to take off to get the muffler out?
I'm not sure. I know when Riva offered a kit it was different than the 08+. Only way to know if to remove the resonator and measure it. Diameter will still be 2.5" just not sure on the length and bend (if any).
I just checked mine and it ends in 08. i'll have to research it a bit since i'm not sure if the last 2 digits mean the year of manufacture but it would make sense. Yours could have been new "old" stock from 07 and should have been sold as a new "old" model if this is the case.
As long as you left enough pipe for the hoses to slide and tightened the clamps good you should be fine. If it really bothers you (and I may do this for peace of mind) take it off and take it to a local moffler shop and have them flare the ends just a bit so in case that clamps does try to slide off the flare will catch it and prevent it.
okay so i have it installed and all is good so far :) one more question though. are you sure this is safe to do without making flanges on the end of the pipe?
Reven327 yes complete rebuild. Supercharger bearings are the next most common reason these engines fail after supercharger washers. Stick to the maintenance schedule and they run forever. Ignore it and they self destruct quick.
The Palumbo family yes a free flow will make quite a difference. Thru hull much louder when idling. Once on plane they’re both about the same since the free flow will be above the water line at that point
Hi there, thinking about doing this to mine, is there any other supporting mods needed? How is the free flow exhaust review after this many years? Would really appreciate your response before I get started
Sajid Rushad no other supporting mods are necessary. As far as how it holds up I couldn’t tell you for sure. I sold the ski about a year after this was done.
Hey mate, I just bought the RXP 215. Any idea if this works with my model as well? Should be similar, right?! Just read the instruction from riva, there are lots of things you have to remove before changing the exhaust tube. Cheers
no. all you remove is the muffler after the waterbox. removing the waterbox is bad news. removing it can and will cause your engine to flood with water while not running since the exhaust outlet is below the waterline.
Hey man, I just did this to my 08 RXT 215. Did you have any problems with idling after the install? I have my RPMs jumping from 1500-1100 and in between. Did your computer have a learning curve for the idle? Thanks!
+KK40384 thanks for the reply - its good to know you went trough this. Before I installed the custom pipe, my idle was about 1440~ and it would move just a little up or down. I'm just concerned as it is sounded like it will stall now. I don't know if it would just require having the Ecu to relearn the back pressure change. Seeing if it got better for anyone that did this
Not really a whole lot. Gained a few rpms on top end but not much other than tone. Whatever gain it was, yours would be even less due to the increased size and weight of the speedster.

I don't know that I noticed a power difference but throttle response is improved a little at high rpm and also gained a little rpm on top end.
No rust issues as of yet. This is the first season i've had it on. I keep checking it every week before I take it out and nothing so far.

That's the resonator. Do you have an issue with your ski leaning at low speed

thanks for the reply! same measurements? I'm going to the shop tomorrow to get this piece cut to size.
so basically you replace the rubber tube with a metal pie and it make it louder????
has this ever been done on a seadoo xp

where do i get the that tube please. i cant find it. please help

Can this be done to an 08 rxp x? I definitely dont want to drill any holes in the hull.
Does anyone have the part number of the exhaust pipe/ store you bought it from. Is it stainless steel piping?
Just bought the pipe. Can't wait!!!
That sounds way better! can this be done to a 2006 RXT????
Did you notice a power difference?
is it necessary to rebuild compete charger every 100 hrs as Well? Or or just wear washers and complete rebuild every ?
Reven327 yes complete rebuild. Supercharger bearings are the next most common reason these engines fail after supercharger washers. Stick to the maintenance schedule and they run forever. Ignore it and they self destruct quick.
why does it sound quieter after? seems odd
Evan Perry it was too loud for the old GoPro mic to pick up. Check out the video u have of it in the water.
I*
Does this work with the 155 models with the same hull? I have a 2008 Sea Doo Wake 155 with the same GTX hull.
yes and yes although you may not notice any gains with the 155 other than noise
Do you have a link to the part?
2005 RXT can I just add that free flow pipe? Is that all it takes to liven up the sound? Is through hull louder?
The Palumbo family yes a free flow will make quite a difference. Thru hull much louder when idling. Once on plane they’re both about the same since the free flow will be above the water line at that point

you are correct. this cannot be done to the older 2 stroke skis. those are a totally different beast.
Where did you buy your pipe at? Also did you need to buy new hose clamps or did you just reuse the old ones?
Do you have any rust issues i ordered the same pipe from summit racing

Can this be done on a 2007 Rxp? Is the the same dimensions?
Kurt A yes it can however the dimensions will be different since it is a much shorter hull. Pipe diameter will be the only thing that is the same.
so did u delete the waterbox then.
no. all you remove is the muffler after the waterbox. removing the waterbox is bad news. removing it can and will cause your engine to flood with water while not running since the exhaust outlet is below the waterline.
KK40384 okay thats what i figured my ski is an older xp which i think has one under the seat that cup holder looking piece ...thanks for info ....
hey mate, this would pump some more power hey? freeing it all up?
Yes it did. Throttle response is also better in the upper rpm range
KK40384
thanks mate, i got same ski but RXP, gonna check it see if its same setup and do this mod :)
Did u jet the carbs
Carbs?? no carbs, fuel injection.
Der!! did you jet the carbs I'm a spastic
Focus Cardona fuel injected
yea that can be done to the 2006

thomas tomaszewski yes I did. Mine has always done that even before this mod. It never went away but didn't get any worse than stock.

nice job man, defnetly sounds alot better. would like to hear it on the water!!
thanks man. Gona do it on my RXT-X 255 to =)
Do you have to do anything to the computer for this to work properly?
nothing else is needed
even easier for yours. Riva still offers a kit for your ski $89.95. RUclips won't let me post the link in the comment section.
Not really a whole lot. Gained a few rpms on top end but not much other than tone. Whatever gain it was, yours would be even less due to the increased size and weight of the speedster.
did u upgrade supercharger washers? and if so when did u do it and since u have done it should it b done again if it is not a permanent fix
Reven327 yes I did upgrade them but they are a wear item so they should be replaced right around 2 years or 100hrs of run time.
I'll check it out. Thanks
Do you know if this will fit a 2008 gtx 215 ?
Yes. They share the same hull so everything would be identical to the RXT 215
I have a video of it on my page
