الأذان بمقام الحجاز adhan in maqam hijaz - try to listen and repeat after me

Please give us a thumbs up if you enjoyed this video! This is a demo of the adhan in maqam hijaz that I did in recent adhan workshop. I did it two ways - first keeping it pretty simple and then a second time adding more fluctuations. The key takeaway for anyone watching this is that you can keep it simple and still beautiful ... you'll notice that the first adhan sounds decent even though I'm not doing a whole lot of fluctuations. Why does it sound good? because it's still on the structure of the maqam - it's still following the hijaz pattern so it sounds well put together.
That's why I emphasize the structure of maqamat in our Overnight Qari course - once you figure out and understand the structure of a maqam, it makes it a whole lot easier to "know" the maqam rather than just guessing based on a feel.
