Does anyone else find themselves hitting the thumbs up before the first 5 seconds because you simply know these two are gonna be interesting? I know there are more of you out there. I can't be the only one.
Uji was on my list to visit last time I stayed in Kyoto. Unfortubnately did not have enough time to visit. So I really love this clip. thank you so much
We absolutely LOVED the way Satoshi said, Can I say? (Dramatic pause) It is good. " We absolutely loved it! Thank you so much for sharing your fun day!
In the last couple of years, I have really started to love macha. Being originally from from San Jose, California, we have many Mitsuwa and Nijiya grocery stored so we have plenty of macha, but noone ever told me about it!! Thanks for letting folks know more about macha!
The vibrant green is really appealing. And your mic is really good....little background noise and clear voice of both of you 👍🏼 I think these little things make videos just so much more enjoyable 😍
Still bingeing on your videos for a week now. You guys are fun, entertaining and very relaxing. And I feel the love you send out to your audience. Awesome!
I love the descriptions and these two are SO likable! I am so glad I fell down this RUclips rabbit hole. I have been to Japan twice and I simply can't wait to return.
Nice video, as always guys. All you videos make me hungry and want to travel. Thank you for sharing. I’m not a big fan of Macha. I spent my teenage years as a field hand, putting up alfalfa bales for the local farmers. Fresh cut alfalfa and Macha have the same smell/taste to me. I pointed this out to my brother who worked the fields with me and you could see the lightbulb turn on in his head as he told me that he didn’t drink Macha either because it had a taste that he couldn’t remember where he had encountered it before. Now he knows. Thanks again.
Yeah....seeing your videos always remind me that I have no self control when it comes to snacks. How you manage to share and take small bites of everything is beyond me. I'd just be like a vacuum cleaner and inhale everything in one sitting...lol.
went to Uji in 2018, remember the red bridges between the famous temple (Byodin?) and the uji train station. Unfortunately it was 5PM and raining, so didnt do much there
It's so great what you do. The tourism is not so good right now because of Covid, but you are helping to show how beautiful Japan is, the tourism will get better after international travel is open again. Your video's are so meaningful to show how much Japan has to offer. Keep up the great work.
This brings back so many lovely memories. I visited Uji in 2008 and 2018, for a tea "snob" is was an awesome experience, along with the temples and shrines. I still have a chazutsu from Tsuen Chaya I got in 2008, the story behind it makes it too cool to discard.
How interesting how matcha is incorporated into different food and drink. I wonder if it is healthier to eat. But the food looked delicious. Thank you Shinichi and Satoshi for taking me along your trip to kyoto and sharing the matcha food with me (as a viewer). Have a great day.
Thank you for one more beautiful video. I've been feeling so down lately that watching videos like yours help me have some inspiration to plan my next visit to Japan. Definitely going to put Uji in my schedule, and hope to be able to go there by 2022. Have a great day and thank you again!
‘You need beer? I need beer!’ Satoshi san is a charmer! Matcha beer sounds interesting. I like the label of Matcha beer. Thanks for another amazing video 😊 「ビール飲みたいですか?
My friends and I meant to go on a trip to Japan this summer but of course we had to cancel our trip because of the state of the world right now. I was really looking forward to going on a “matcha adventure” during my stay, but visiting Kyoto was not part of our itinerary. In a way I’m a bit glad that we didn’t go before I knew of these places that serve matcha-based confectioneries and meals, because now I can look forward to visiting Kyoto when my friends and I finally do get to go to Japan someday! Until then I will live vicariously through you two! 🍵✨
i enjoyed your video the jelly looked so good n when you both were eating soba made me so hungry i love ramen and soba hot or cold maybe i will make a midnight snack thanks for sharing
My favorite matcha sweet in Kyoto was a soft-serve matcha ice cream on a cone (some come with red bean and jellies on the side in the cone), which I got in one of the many sweets shops on the old side of the river in Kyoto leading up to Yanaka temple. But instead of a matcha powder, there was a dark matcha sauce drizzled over it which I think is probably more enjoyable to eat. The ice cream was tart but also sweet, of course, but the sauce was only very tart, which was a PERFECT complement to the sweet ice cream with the same matcha tones. It was probably the best soft-serve i've ever had EVER. I also discovered matcha Kahlua at a Mega Don Quixote in Meguro in Tokyo and picked it up because it was a cute small bottle and I like matcha and I like Kahlua. I wasn't necessarily expecting it to be good, but to my surprise, it was actually VERY good! So if you haven't tried that one, definitely look for it at any Mega Don Quixote (it may be at a regular Don Quixote but I found it in the mega one. :)) My favorite konbini matcha snack is the Alfort vanilla butter cookies with the matcha chocolate on top. Ugh. They're amazing! It's a light matcha chocolate and they are just very sweet and smooth cookies. I mean, butter cookies are great on their own, so throw some matcha chocolate on them and they just get better! I saw them at every konbini I went into. I could get them for awhile in Nijiya Market in the States, but then they stopped selling the vanilla butter cookie one and only sold the chocolate cookie one with the matcha chocolate on top, which is NOT nearly as good, imo! Oh, my last favorite and ULTIMATE TOP favorite matcha (packaged) sweet of all time so far... is ROYCE matcha chocolate fudge! I found that in a store in Narita airport. I know there's a factory in Sapporo, and they're sold across Japan (I imagine - maybe in department stores?). For anyone reading who's in L.A., you can get a marked-up box (they're a little pricy to begin with, even in Japan) in the higher-end sweets area in the front of Mitsuwa Marketplace in Culver City. There are also RUclips videos that show you how to make a DIY version at home which I haven't tried yet but I will! And you can order them online too I think. The ROYCE matcha fudge is supposed to stay refrigerate until eaten, and it literally melts in your mouth. Alfort vanilla butter cookies, ROYCE matcha fudge, and Kyoto matcha soft-serve with the matcha sauce (my fave matcha treat from a Kyoto shop!), all amazing! Cheers and enjoy Kyoto!!! 🍡🍵⛩
Everything looked so good. I love macha. Mochi 🍡 and chestnuts. What more could anyone want out of life apart from 🍜. Now I need to go to China Town tomorrow and do some shopping maybe treat myself to some mochi 😉
Loved the video - I got to visit Kyoto last year and spent a day in Uji, so this bright back a lot of great memories. I also had tried a number of things that you tried, including the matcha-infused dango, gyoza, and soba. And now I know a few more things I’ll have to try when I hopefully visit again!
Hmm I think matcha and beer would be good because I drink a lot of IPA beers that are very bitter and "green" tasting. I think it would be a good pairing.
It look amazing thanks for showing all the matcha goodness I’ll definitely try these places here while getting lovely matcha stuff when the borders open up 🥰🥰🥰
I would love to see some videos about hokkaido! (but obvious travel an climate might be a bit long/cold, so maybe not in the winter, but yeah, when you guys get around to it!)
I loved this so Matcha!!! 😂. OMG! I don’t have one thing that’s matcha in the house and after watching this I’m craving some matcha tea or anything with matcha! You two are just so darn interesting & adorable! Thank you for sharing 💖💖💖
Every time I see you eat anything that looks like mochi, it makes me crave it/want to try it!! When I saw the matcha gyoza, I shuddered a bit because it looks exactly like the wasabi gyoza I tried in Tokyo 😂😂 it was a bit intense!
Awwww, we skipped UJI when we were in Kyoto 😭 The city (or town?) looks so serene and peaceful, perhaps it's because not overcrowded with tourists. We were in Kyoto in Autumn last year and it was super duper crowded with tourists, I was in shock as it was our first trip ever to Japan 🤦♀️😀
Uji is one of my favorite towns to visit! And Nakamura Tokichi is where I get ALL my matcha, hojicha and other gifts for people (and myself!) - highly recommended and I always have to drop by for food and desert!
Before eating, Japanese people typically say "Itadakimasu" which means "I receive this food." This expresses appreciation for the people who prepared the food.
Macha underrated bc never saw them in California until the last 10 years or so. Interesting like pistachio or yuzu but don't wow me as much as grape raspberry or apricot. Classy places & nice but those vending machines are way more fun! Even if the quality is bad.
I've been to Uji once but just for the hanabi festival so didn't have time to look for street food. These foods look so delicious. Although I wouldn't try the nishin soba; I'm not a big fan of herring. The soda I'm most interested in and the nama matcha jelly :D I know that somehere in Uji is a tea store that has amazing matcha parfaits and such.
Greetings, gents. I have a question. Is "soba" just a word in Japanese for "noodles", or is it a specific type of noodles either by shape or by the flour used in making them? I used to think that "soba" meant noodles made from buckwheat flour specifically, but now I'm not so sure.
The people they're sitting next to are people they're traveling with. They don't usually have you social distance within your group here. But you can see behind Shinichi there are empty tables are people are spaced out.
Your happiness and zest for life makes my heart sing.
Does anyone else find themselves hitting the thumbs up before the first 5 seconds because you simply know these two are gonna be interesting? I know there are more of you out there. I can't be the only one.
👍👍👍👍
I do, even when its the ad showing!
I just did! ha ha
I did that 😆
Uji was on my list to visit last time I stayed in Kyoto. Unfortubnately did not have enough time to visit. So I really love this clip. thank you so much

I saw TabiEats on Rion's Livestream commenting on one of my favorite RUclipsr. I was so happy to see your support for him. Thanks.
Oh my, everything is so beautiful, food and places. People like to visit Tokyo, but I'd go straight to Kyoto if I could
In the last couple of years, I have really started to love macha. Being originally from from San Jose, California, we have many Mitsuwa and Nijiya grocery stored so we have plenty of macha, but noone ever told me about it!! Thanks for letting folks know more about macha!
I just love watching you both. Very calming energies.
The vibrant green is really appealing. And your mic is really good....little background noise and clear voice of both of you 👍🏼 I think these little things make videos just so much more enjoyable 😍
I agree - I thought it was a voice over for a second! The mic was really good in this video!
Thank you for posting, love Kyoto, love Japan ❤️
We stayed in a ryokan in Uji last time we visited Japan. So beautiful and peaceful. Can't wait to go back!
Still bingeing on your videos for a week now. You guys are fun, entertaining and very relaxing. And I feel the love you send out to your audience. Awesome!
Thanks so much
i could listen to guy's voice all day. that's some ASMR. Love you guys. this was excellent!

I'm so jealous! Uji is one of my favorite places. Next time please try Kanbayashi for tea, he and his family have been selling since the daimyo era.
Hi Shinichi and Satoshi how you doing good to see wow in Kyoto street food yummie enjoy guy's be safe and God bless 💖
I live in Osaka, so I should go visit Kyoto more! This made me want to explore more too.
Thanks for another show on traditional Japanese food. It all looked so yummy.
You two are killing me! I can still hear the green tea choco snaping in two! やべええええ!
Yeah....seeing your videos always remind me that I have no self control when it comes to snacks. How you manage to share and take small bites of everything is beyond me. I'd just be like a vacuum cleaner and inhale everything in one sitting...lol.

Kyoto looks like a lovely place. I wish I was there!
Yayyyyyy I love you both. Making us happy in these times. I can always rely on you both. Matcha heaven ( “, )
This matcha food tour in UJI Kyoto is one of my favorite videos! This visit will be on my bucket list! Thank you Shinichi and Satoshi!

So many yummy looking treats and Mach’s beer to wash it down. 😋😎👍

Big love from Raleigh, NC
Hmm I think matcha and beer would be good because I drink a lot of IPA beers that are very bitter and "green" tasting. I think it would be a good pairing.
I was thinking the same thing as I sip a tasty IPA...
Bloop, bloop, bloop. 😁😂🤣 Great description of a jelly parfait!!!
You guy had me at Matcha 💚😳😍
Love you guys... can't wait to travel again.
Again such a beautiful video ❤🥰 awesome! With you guys we can travel arround japan, without leaving our home and enjoy some delicious food.
Thank you!
It look amazing thanks for showing all the matcha goodness I’ll definitely try these places here while getting lovely matcha stuff when the borders open up 🥰🥰🥰
Packing is always interesting and elaborate
I'll be sure to visit this for my next travel
Some of these look amazing...and I am not even a huge fan of matcha! Awesome video:)
So yummy, so delicious.Thank you guys.👍
Thank you for sharing! Love Matcha!
I'm a tea fanatic, and ever since I watched a documentary on Uji I've wanted to go. Great video guys! 🥰 Someday when I go I must try Satoshi's soba!
Love your videos thanks andy Ireland 🇮🇪
I've always wanted to visit Uji, haven't had the chance yet. I love Matcha too!
Everything looks so yummy 😋😋😋
Matcha beer FTW! Great video guys.
@1:50 I love that!!!! ❤️ I’m so over waiting to get back there!!!! 🤦🏻
I LOVE SHINICHI AND SATOSHI!!!! HUGS FROM ARIZONA
Matcha happiness! Thank you, guys. ❤️
This is so nice! U guys are so cute ❤️ thanks for sharing this is very interesting for me ☺️
Love the look and historical sites! Not a huge fan of matcha it tastes like fishy grass to me, but it's great to see you both enjoying yourselves.
Love this.. and both of you ❤️
Can we all just appreciate the little hat flick Satoshi did at the beginning of the video?
I would love to see some videos about hokkaido! (but obvious travel an climate might be a bit long/cold, so maybe not in the winter, but yeah, when you guys get around to it!)
We’ve made a few of them a few years back. Here’s our Hokkaido playlist

I've tried soba matcha, so good!
I always have to ear after watching you guys
I love all of your videos!
Please explain the word that you say when your about to eat something. It sounds like:
"Ti-daki mas".
Before eating, Japanese people typically say "Itadakimasu" which means "I receive this food." This expresses appreciation for the people who prepared the food.
Matcha Takoyaki is crazyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy I wana try it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My ad for the video was basically of the history of Matcha. Thats weird lol.
What was the cake like stuff around the chestnuts? Have only had yokan with the chestnuts.
Damn, I miss japan 🇯🇵
Macha underrated bc never saw them in California until the last 10 years or so. Interesting like pistachio or yuzu but don't wow me as much as grape raspberry or apricot. Classy places & nice but those vending machines are way more fun! Even if the quality is bad.

Is matcha healthy for you and if so what is it healthy for what benefits can you get from matcha??
Very healthy. Here’s some info. www.healthline.com/nutrition/7-benefits-of-matcha-tea
中村藤吉、ほうじ茶チョコぜひ食べてください!とても香ばしくておいしいです!
Ok, that matcha beer needs to be imported to the US.

You are right soba is buckwheat noodles
Men is the name for noodles
Wheat thick noodles are udon
Can someone give me a description of what matcha taste like?
Cool video, I just had a matcha latte at a place called; “Matcha cafe Maiko” in California!:)
So inventive :) so many uses for matcha; the end seating...no social distancing? :(
the soda, and ice cream looked good.
The people they're sitting next to are people they're traveling with. They don't usually have you social distance within your group here. But you can see behind Shinichi there are empty tables are people are spaced out.
I had no idea that Japanese pronounce "jelly" with a "Z". That sounds so much cooler. XD
Did you boys get any sleep after eating and drinking all that tea? 😀
I just got done watching Paolo from Tokyo recent video.
Better camera, but no gimbal? Kyoto is SO NICE! But, I'm convinced that you're off our back...
