    You did this perfectly or at least exactly the way it supposed to be done I can’t see a single error
    Along my experience, working in the door pocket is a pain in the ass you made it look easy

    This helped but you didnt mention those metal edges will slice you like a razor. Also leave that top bolt that is black in the assembly just loosened for easier install. I used vice grips to hold the spring tension instead of fighting it on the ground. This was a 45 minute job not 2 1/2 hours

    I just changed mine last week....what I realized after trying to get the new regulator in the door was you need to pull up the glass higher to get it out of the way. Leaving the glass in the same position as when you remove the old regulator didn't allow enough room to get the new regulator between the inner door and the glass, Then its easy as pie to install....also the round piece on the regulator goes back into the round white plastic piece in the door.

    I ordered one (2002) from advanced auto parts for $150.00 (before I saw your video). Here are my questions...
    When I connected the new regulator with the electrical the motor didn't work. What am I missing?

    • @PsychOtto
      @PsychOtto  6 лет назад +1

      Test the motor another way, if possible, or take it to an auto parts store and have them test it. But first, make sure power is reaching the plug that the electrical from the motor connects to. If power is reaching the motor, then it must be defective or have an electrical fault somewhere between the plug to the motor. Obviously, test for power when the key is on and when activating the power window switch for that window. Hope that helps!

      Thanks...how do I test that power is reaching the plug that the electrical from the motor connects to

    • @PsychOtto

      Just use an inexpensive little 12 volt tester where a little light will light up when you touch the ends of the tester to the power window plug connections. Or you can make one yourself with two wires and a twelve volt bulb.

    When you were pushing up the regulator what did you have to move out of the way to make it go all the way up that's my problem now thank you for your video by the way

    • @PsychOtto
      @PsychOtto  6 лет назад

      Sorry, I don't recall having to move anything out of the way. It should be clear for the regulator to move up, just as it was before I began working on it.

    What do you do when your motor can't go down or up...?

    • @PsychOtto
      @PsychOtto  4 года назад

      Sorry, not sure. Maybe if you get the door panel off, you can move it by hand?

    how much did it cost for regulator plus motor.

    • @PsychOtto
      @PsychOtto  7 лет назад

      I just bought the motor. I didn't need a new regulator. I think the motor was under $50. Just doing a quick search on Google, it looks like you can get both for under $50.

    I had to do both front doors 3 times as the motors from advance auto are made in china and burned out in 9 months. They would only warranty the motor once. Ended up going to toyota and paying 3 times as much but the motors have been in for about 3 years now and no problem. I never marked the regulator. Never had a problem. I can almost do it in my sleep I've done it .... 5 or 6 times in a year ... then. I used duct tape over the top and to the glass and then also shim shingle wedges down where the window goes down. Either way works great.

    Just did my 99 sienna xle. Great help! Watch out for the washer on the uppermost of the six bolts, it can fall down into the door if not careful. I dug it out but still you'll need nimble hands.

    how do you move the window by hand?

    • @PsychOtto
      @PsychOtto  6 лет назад +1

      I grabbed the window with one hand while pressing the up switch with the other hand. My old window motor still worked with help. I never thought about if your motor was completey dead. If that's your case, let us know how you resolve it by posting here. Thanks for your question!

    • @youngsamuel1

      PsychOtto I thought of that also but had no success. I am still not sure if it is the switch or motor. I can't find a wiring diagram

    • @PsychOtto
      @PsychOtto  6 лет назад

      There should be a way to test the switch to see if power is going through it when it's in the on position. I sold my minivan recently, so I don't have the manual anymore. Good luck.

    • @youngsamuel1
      @youngsamuel1 6 лет назад +2

      Success. I found the switch harness (2 wire) and verified the switch was working properly. I took off the top piece of door trim/panel and could better see the gear for the motor. I lightly tapped downward with a flathead screwdriver while someone tried raising the window with the switch. It rolled up and operates normally. UNLESS it is rolled all the way down. Thank you
