I don't normally like David Guetta's vibe or any of these big EDM stars for that matter but this is ace!! I can't belive the lack of comments on the classic house (MAW, David Morales, Lil Louis) he was digging out tho, now that's dance music. I don't understand how if all these tracks were his inspiration back in the day it's nothing like what he plays and produces now, it can only be that his current style is where the money is.
Exactly like when he played Can you feel it and said this is what I call real Deep House I was like "Well we know that's bullshit" cause you'd still be creating & playing it if you really did.

Excellent interview. This totally mirrored my musical journey at the time with the records I would DJ with and the music that started me off to become a Break Dancer. The reaction at 6:54 and 8:16 is how I reacted to these songs, and still do. I have much respect for his musical journey, he told us about in this interview. He knows his music!!

..so great to see this video...i was working as dj beside university from 1979 till 1988....in that time i bought nearly 10.000 LP`s and singles.....i remember the same sounds like david showed.....i loved funk, early house, r&b, acid.....but my way was then a business career....till now.... but never lost my love for music...and last year i started to learn DAW, piano, mixing, sampling and so on again..because i have all the vinyl to use...always a fan from david....... greets from austria

Vinyl -> ortofon concorde - > Technics SL-1210 MK2 -> Rodec Mixer-> Jbl Speakers was the best sound I ever had. I miss that soundsystem , I had to sell it all except the vinyl...I kept it. They are all bombs.

Im glad he talks about what deejaying was about, having a big music influence is so important! I started at 11 mixing just hip hop and cumbias but then educated myself on the 80s, 70s and 60s. Learning about rock, house, funk, and edm made my deejaying so much better. I still deejay in LA and I produce a bit and its so refreshing seeing Guetta talk about the roots. To any upcoming deejays out there, fall in love with discovering old and new music and youll be 100x better and youll have so many good memories!
