It's definitely a great card for half the price. The only thing it doesn't do well is brighten the footage when I used my Hyperkin PS2 cable, but that cable is pretty dark. The Elgato brightens the footage better. However, with everything else I use, it works just as good as the El Gato.
Thank you for the comparison. I want XR1 so much, but unfortunately it isn't sold in my country (Brazil) and the tax for importation is 92%, which is insane. I'm waiting for a miracle!
Hopefully there's a work around. The XR1 is a solid capture card. Just remember to update the bios when you finally get one. I have instructions on how to do it in the description.
from what i can tell, there both best suited for 1080p. although the elgato can handle 1080 60 better thanks to it's lower latency, that's the other thing i noticed to. the latency is slightly higher on the XR1 Lite, so i can see some slight lag, but still for $80 dollars whatever it is now a days, that's pretty darn good for a plug and play setup. so if you wanna record some Switch gameplay, i don't think you need the Elgato HD60 s for that.
XR1 looks so much better.
