  • This is a teaser for the new video series with Dr Mark Caldwell which will be available over on Patreon. The full series will break down the entire shoeing process and explain what we as farrier should be looking for when trimming and fitting shoes.
The stages will be broken down to allow us to explain each individual process and help develop a shoeing plan appropriate to the equine.
We would love too have you join this course and hope we can continue to create great content for yiu regularly.
    Hey Guys
My name is Alex Ridgeway, I am a Farrier in Newmarket, England. I created this channel to share some of my experiences working with horses. I aim to create entertaining videos as part of my farrier vlog, but I will let you be the judge of that!
I am also producing educational videos about horse's Anatomy, How to’s, and I hope to produce videos all about different pathologies and how to better care for your horse. We have also opened a fully functioning Farriers Forge just outside of Newmarket, England. The plan is to encourage certain horses to the Forge, this will allow us to custom make and create specific shoeing plan to best suit these horses and to maximise their true potential.
Please check out some of my other videos. I hope you enjoy the videos and they can bring you some value.
I would really appreciate you're feedback and if you can offer support by subscribing even better ( it’s completely free!!!) Thank you!!👍
Don't forget to LIKE and SHARE these videos with your friends!
    Thank you for watching!

Interesting theory. I’d like to know more about why he does it this way. Also it is very difficult to concentrate on hoof trimming when his breathing difficulties are so obvious. I hope he gets in better health. :(

There is, shortly to be released, a full length online course about the fundamentals of horse shoeing along with quiz questions and detailed videos. This course will be available soon. This clip was a snippet of that course so the context of what mark was talking may not of been clearly explained. Be sure to check out this course very soon, alot of work went into its creation and I'm sure youll appreciate some really interesting and helpful content. Thanks for your feedback. Alex

It's always nice to throw stones! I never understand why people can't love one another. He is teaching us something in life, why can't we teach others to be nice and love. It's all about the horse the foot so send an olive branch and spread a kind gesture. My 2 cents!!

Is the gentleman speaking Dr Mark Caldwell? If so I wish he could come and go through this with me with my horse. Wish he could come here to Kentucky.

Hi Kevin, the full length video series will be released shortly. This may be able to explain this situation a little more rather than just this clip. Would be great to have you on the course and certainly interesting to hear your feedback from it afterwards. Thanks again

I HATE shoes! Unless it's working stock, there's no good reason to NAIL a bunch of nails into the bottom of their hooves.

Susan Flowers you just yourself, ‘unless it’s working’.. no farrier will shoe a horse unless shoes are required.

@@stockcar4d sure...(2:55) look at the twist in the frog, the lack of symmetry in the heel bulbs and the distortion (flaring) in the medial toe and quarter wall...this is the result of a crossfire heel. A crossfire heel is defined (by me) as a heel that is no longer growing down and forward, but who's growth direction instead has been distorted and is now growing diagonally and forward. To correct it is challenging and requires physical therapy as well as re-directive trimming. I have an article I wrote I will share with you. You can find my email at my RUclips channel.
