I feel the same!! I wasn't allowed to watch it as a child, as soon as the music came on, I had to go to bed. My mom would let me watch it if my father was working late though.
I wondered why you were not allowed to watch the DVD Show when you were young. I can't think of any controversial element of the show, that parents might find objectionable. What did I miss??
Great to see that Laura is so confident and secure in her marriage. Rob is clueless and panicky. Why couldn't he just be honest with Joan from the start. The male ego runs amuck. That is where the comedy lives.
I had the BIGGEST CRUSH on Cheryl Holdridge when I was a kid! She was an original cast member of The Mickey Mouse Club; beginning in the second season, (and that was when I fell in love with her! lol) She has also appeared in The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet, both the original Leave it To Beaver and the 'New' Leave It to Beaver programs and so many others. Rest in Peace, Cheryl, enjoy Heaven!
She also appeared in an episode during the first season of "Bewitched", with Elizabeth Montgomery and Dick York. I remember seeing her in this episode, and she was quite funny. She was one of television's finest young character actresses during the 1960's, and her work on TV will be remembered for many generations to come. Rest peacefully, Cheryl Holdridge.
Barely two minutes in and Buddy comes in with two of his best ever lines,..HEY (to Mel), YOU KNOW SOMETHING? YOU DON'T LOOK SO BALD FROM THIS ANGLE and (I guess we may go home to our loved ones (Rob)) NOT ME, I'M GOING HOME TO MY WIFE. Ha!, ha!, ha!
Nowadays it would be absolutely necessary for Buddy and Sally to remain in the office has witnesses. These old sitcoms were so innocent and lighthearted. It would never be like this today.
Oh, today there'd be lawsuits, mass firings, divorces, marches, highways to airports blocked, national upheaval... We've somehow gone back to Puritan days... in a way...
Ritchie never came in for dinner. Rob married Laura at 17. No reason why he couldn't have married Joan at 18. Cheryl Holdridge died way too young. Rob kissed or was kissed by, at least, 5 other women in the show's history. Laura only kissed Bob Crane. There were a couple of other close calls for the both of them. Clark Rice for Laura, Valerie Ware for Rob, etc.
Oooh I remember the Clark Rice episode! Boy, he was handsome. Dick Van Dyke is also strikingly handsome. They are like two different types of handsome. Apples and Oranges.
Never did like the way the script writers made "Rob" such a wimp when it came to such things as telling someone they need to back off, leave him alone. I've been watching the show since it first came on way back in 1961, and even as a child it bothered me that 'he' couldn't stand up for himself, but wussed out all the time. Guess the writers thought that was funny.
Can't get enough of this show. Been watching it 60 for years. Boy, am I old.
Me too! I love it!!!
@@mishaunvictoria2095 Me three!
Right here w you!
Me too lol
It is so well written; every episode is a classic.
I watched this show as an early 1970's child and this is one of a few the eps I still rembember.
Ahhhhhhhh,I soooooooo LOVE THESE CHARACTERS/STARS!!!!!!!!!
Love this episode! Thank you.

?🥴

He should’ve asked Laura to come talk to”Gidget”, woman to…girl. 😅 His angry wife might put the fear of God in her! 😂😂😂
I watch this show over and over. I love this shoe so much.
It's a really good shoe.

OMG I didn’t realize that was Cheryl!
@@cd3694 Exquisite, isn't she!

I totally remember her playing Wally’s girlfriend on Leave It To Beaver!
That is Cheryl Holdridge, an original Mousketeer, and MY namesake. Yep. I was named after a Mousketeer!
I watch'em ovr n ovr alright! Clean funny shows

Cheryl Holdrige looks cute here. She used to be Wally Cleaver's girlfriend on Leave It To Beaver.
Richard Deacon as Mel Cooley was the hidden star on The Dick Van Dyke Show.
Mel was the irritant in the oyster that caused the pearl to grow. Or some such artsy-fartsy comment like that.
Amazing actor indeed!!
She played Wally's girlfriend on leave it to beaver damn what a knockout
This is the same actress who was in the same role on Bewitched, she was after Darrin

Extra great script! Laura's lines and comedy were perhaps the best she was given in the series?!
Joanie was “18 and foolish.” Yet Laura was 17 when she married Rob…
23:00 🤣😂🤣🤣🤣😂🤣
Funny how she played same part in Bewitched too. Just about the sexiest 18 yo home wrecker ever LOL
For a 60s show, I'm surprised to see what Laura was aiming for. 24:33
Rob can have the girl, then I get Laura
I'm willing to bet a lot of our fathers had the hots for Laura Petrie.

Ok, Vince, you can have Laura, I'd take the blonde babe!😃
She was Wally Cleavers girlfiend...lol
Billy: you'd take a kid over Laura? You're blind...
You may need stronger glasses.
@@tomreedyjr3631 or maybe he's 18? 🤷
Vince Foster?
Buddy had better keep his wretched hands off Laura.
@9:54...Ironically Dick van Dyke is now married to a woman young enough to be his daughter.
Granddaughter!
Shoe?? Ha Ha. I mean show
I just realized that's Wally Cleaver's girlfriend!
She was a Mousketeer before that.
i grew up in the 80s watching mary poppins and never not EVER was dick van dyke considered a "very very handsome man"😂🤮he's way too goofy
Handsome as Herman Munster.
Rob is super sexy.
I think he's very handsome, goofy or not!
He had a nice physique but his face was ordinary.
I thought he was handsome!! I kept asking mom who Burt 😍was...because I kept forgetting Dick Van Dyke's whole name 😅
I don’t think I ever saw this one. It’s mediocre.
