I think that was for making him look more intelligent and elegant and succeeded it. He usually doesn't wear glasses when performing. Anyway I liked it in this way as he's handsome with or without whatever. BTW I think he doesn't "speak" French. He would have leared how to pronounce it perfectly. There are classes for foreign language diction in his faculty as he majors in classical vocal in SNU (top uni in Korea) and now in master course. The students there must know how to read and pronounce correctly some foreign languages for opera singing like Italian, French, German, Russian and Latin..
