- I build a Blacksmithing Striking Anvil and Post Vise / Leg Vise stand.
This is a great anvil stand and a vise stand.
This is the short version for the impatient folks.
But for the details of this build check out the links to the long version.
Jere donated the leaf spring for the leg vise. Thank you Jere, worked perfect.

It never gets old seeing a skanky, rusty, slaggy old hunk of steel off the scrap bin milled up into a nice steel part, just so satisfying. Sometimes the simple things just make your day. Nice blacksmith portable work station it should last for generations with a little care down the line.
I with you on that John. Last forever. Thanks for stopping in.
Phill replied that you picked up that Henrob tourch while at the Bash. You are going to love it, Bear.
Yep it is really nice. I have wanted one for quite awhile. Thanks Bear.
When you run a bead around two alum beer cans, will you film it? hehe ;-( That sold me in 2002, but never could tackle it 😞
Looking good and of course it is Randy Richard right. Thanks for the video keep on keeping on.
Thanks, will do!
I like it! I think I'll buy a sweatshirt.
thanks
I'm excited to see more 😊😊
Yeah so am I. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for the video. We have meet on several occasions. Rancho summer fest. Any way love the new format. Use the scribe I purchased from you every day. Please continue to make videos thanks again for what you do.
Thank you Kevin. Thanks for stopping in.
Nice. In this video you make it look like a quick build. Just one Sunday afternoon :)
I think it was a month of sundays. Thanks rusty.
good job randy
Thank you Tr.
Looks like quite the kit very sturdy they could have a hard time breaking that thanks for sharing hopefully I'll see you at the bash randy
Thanks Kimber, I am glad you can make it out.
Randy, words can not express my gratitude for you skills and how you pass these on. Kindest regards from Bonnie Scotland. Joe.
Wow, thank you!
I used to have a vise like that. Sadly it got sold years ago at the auction I wish I still had it.
nice to have Brian.
A project I need to take on one day! These are so handy!👏
For sure Alan. Well worth it. Thanks.
@@RRINTHESHOP You know, one thing I might change is to just put a machinist vise on the opposite end, although for small mobile work this is more useful. I have a 5" with no name similar to yours. I need to make a new spring. I have so much to do...and can ALMOST start doing it...hehehe EDIT: I can also see where it would be handy to have an anvil strapped to the on top of the plate. Balancing weight with function is a tough one with smithy tools...🤔
@@konoctiswigwam8130 Thanks. I have another upcoming project which will include more vises. This one is very heavy and solid.
Things I like: watching a new RR vid
Things I don't like: not seeing a new RR video because it hasn't been posted😂
Regards,
Duck
Thank you Duck. I will work on that.
Morning Randy 😅
Morning Craig.
Too bad you can’t bring it to Stan’s get together. 😃👍
I could , I will think about that. Thank you John for the idea.
Cool vine Randy, you always add the nicest touches to finish your makes, enjoyed the video, cheers!
Thank you kindly
You need to install a motor on that stand
I could drive it around.
Interesting project. I missed the purpose of the leaf spring for some reason. Maybe not watching or listening closely enough.
Thank you, it is to push the vise open when loosening.
How much is the vise
The vise cost me $200. Thanks for stopping in. I love this setup, use it all the time.
That turned out great Randy. Just beat it.⚒🔩🔧
Thanks Randy.
